“The apartment arrangement is fine. Next to the University of Coimbra which was the reason for our stay. Coimbra near the University is very hilly, but the area is beautiful in September. Tour of the campus and famous library. The rooms are small which brings back memories of being a student in college.”
“Charming beautifully decorated cottages. We enjoyed fire place, deck, library, and pottery workshop. There is a delicious healthy breakfast served in the cafe every morning. Staff is incredibly nice and helpful. We hiked to a nearby village. We will definitely come back. ”
“The Luggage Hostel & Suites has a very good location on the hillside with nice views. It is easy to park in the street and calm in the night. It is a charming old villa with special architecture and atmosphere. You can have breakfast or a drink on the balcony with view to the other hillside and the old university. The staff is very helpful with information about Coimbra and you can easily walk to the sights, old town and city center. We would have liked to stay one more night, but unfortunately...

“The property is in a great location for walking to the University. It was in a cool old house. We enjoyed the fun, "University" vibe of the decor. The staff was great. Emma was a particular delight--very helpful and full of useful information & recommendations. The breakfast buffet was great with many options. It was served on the top floor with nice views and an outdoor patio for nice weather days.
The one thing that we would change would be the numerous, plug-in air freshener/frangrances...

“This is a giant, rambling old mansion that has been converted into lodging. I wish we'd had more time to discuss its history with our host Maria. We wound up here because our original choice had a fire, and we had to find a place at the last minute. We were here to tour the university and it's about a 25 minute hike. In the end, our room was comfy, cool and quiet, and that's what's important to us. BTW, Uber works really well in Coimbra.”

"Overall a very nice stay. We were expecting Hästen beds but we’re told they’ve been changed in November 2024. The new beds are of the firm type. The hotel was very clean and was very nicely designed, the bookshelf carved into the bathroom wall was particularly cool! Service was friendly and attentive. The breakfast on the top floor was small but nice with a beautiful view. "
