Serene and secluded
My husband was interested in a place near all the best golf and he found it. I was looking for a peaceful villa away from the tourists but central enough for trips to the beaches and towns nearby for daily excursions - while also finding a place from which I could paint. We both found what we were looking for. Walks to fountains, lunches at the beach, climbs along steep steps, incredible hidden gems of restaurants off the beaten track. The villa itself was beautiful. We grilled lamb chops we bought from the local Mercado for Easter dinner, fresh fennel and delicious fresh bread and desserts! We loved the villa! If we return to the Algarve, we would definitely stay there!

Relaxation in the Algarve
We fully enjoyed our time in Portugal, and it was made all the much better by this wonderful villa. Amenities were top-notch and it’s close to everywhere. You need a car and having a car will give you access to the entire Algarve region. The pool is fantastic although we went a little early in the season, and it was too cold to swim in(at least for us). Don’t miss this Saturday market in Loulé.

Aufenthalt 3 Wochen im Februar
Sowohl das Haus wie auch die excellente Betreuung vor Ort haben uns einen sehr schönen und erholsamen Urlaub bereitet. Das Haus ist großzügig, schön möbliert und bestens ausgestattet. Es ist sehr ruhig im Grünen gelegen und somit ideal für Gäste, die sich erholen wollen. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und uns rundum wohl gefühlt.

Lovely House with great pool
Nice, clean house within 10 minutes driving distance to the beach. The pool was amazing, we felt very comfortable. Contact with the owner was great and thanks for the little surprise when we checked in.

Excellent Villa in a lovely spot

Fab villa within easy reach of all you need
We had a fantastic time, really nice villa in a great location for visiting Villamoura and Albufeira. We planned to go out and about more but couldn’t drag ourselves away from the pool for too long! We had a great holiday, would definitely recommend and would love to return at some point.

Great Villa
Very spacious and well equipped and comfortable villa. 2nd Stay (and hopefully not the last!)
This was our 2nd time staying in Eleanor’s property and the experience was as good as the first. It has everything you need for self-catering with a large modern kitchen, BBQ, comfortable beds but what makes it is the pool area which is just prefect and much bigger than would be found at larger properties. Unlike our first stay we headed out a couple of nights to Villamoura and Albefeuria and ubers were easily accessed to and from the property and inexpensive. I can’t imagine it will be our last stay!

Take me back!
An amazing property, well placed for loads of trips out. We didn't hire a car so used Uber every day and is was really cost effective. The property is perfect but the icing on the cake is the outdoor area and pool. The weather was fab, if a little hot so the pool was most welcome. We loved watching the red rump swallows having their daily dip in the pool. We only wish we'd booked to stay longer but we will be back.

Fabulous private location
We loved our stay. Bill was very responsive to any questions we had. The location is nice and private but still close to everything you need. Comfortable and relaxing, we loved the pool and the swallows that come by for a dip. I agree with another review that it may be a bit hard to find, we ended up adding the local place called Licks into the GPS and then following Eleanor's detailed directions from there made it very easy.

La maison, la terrasse et la piscine sont très agréable. La route principale est éloignée. petit bémol, le chien d'un voisin éloigné gueule la nuit. Si l'on dort fenêtre fermée, on ne l'entend pas. En l'absence des propriétaires, on a pu compter sur Bill et Sharon qui se déplacent au moindre appel et sont très serviables. Pour alléger les valises, la mise a disposition de serviettes de plages est très appréciable en plus du linge de maison. Nous sommes très contents de notre séjour.

Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermittler lief einwandfrei und freundlich. Die Sauberkeit ließ zu wünschen übrig: Schimmel im Bad Verrostete Ablage für Duschgel usw. Schmierigen Geschirr und blinde Gläser Krümmel des Vorgängers in Schubladen Nicht passende Bettwäsche Fleckige und ausgefranzte Handtücher. Terrasse Möbel teilweise sehr abgenutzt Mufffiger Geruch am Tage des Einzuges Uns wurde angeboten gewisse Mängel zu beheben, der Aufwand hätte zu viel Zeit inanspruch genommen, so dass wir sicherlich einen Tag verloren hätten. Die beschrieben ruhige Lage entspricht nicht der Realität, da man eine gut befahrene Straße und Bahnlinie hören kann. Die beschriebenen Orangenhaine zum pflücken eigener Orangen entsprechen einem ungepflegtem Wildwuchs neben und hinter dem Haus.

Peaceful holiday
My husband and I spent two lovely weeks in March at Casa Colmeia. Enjoyed the peace and quiet. You can hear the sounds of traffic nearby, but it didn’t bother us. The nature around is beautiful. Everything worked well. Thank you!

Great base for exploring the Algarve
We had a lovely stay at this house - it had everything we needed and was located in a good spot to set off on explorations. Since we came in off season (November) we didn't use the pool but it was very pleasant to enjoy the deck. Its in a very quiet and secluded spot which would probably be a bonus in high season when things must be crowded. For us it was nice for the peace and quiet. Enjoyed Barbecuing fresh fish and veggies on the grill after returning from our adventures. Hosts were very attentive. Amenities all worked just fine.

Wonderful stay at this beautiful villa
We have just returned from 10 days at this fantastic villa. It was spacious and really well equipped with everything you need for a brilliant family holiday. The outside area was absolutely perfect: very pretty with plenty of seating options so you can be in sun or shade depending on your preference all day long. The pool was a great size and really was the highlight of our trip (a little chilly for our daughter on windy days so bringing wetsuits for kids might be a good idea). The built-in outdoor BBQ was great and we had many lovely dinners sitting on the terrace. There are so many beaches, attractions, resorts and restaurants just a short drive away. We can't wait to go back!

Picture Postcard Perfect
We have just recently returned from this wonderful villa and if anything our expectations were surpassed based on previous reviews and pictures (and we had high expectations!). It had everything we required and more, the inside was spotless and grounds excellently maintained. The large pool was the highlight with lots of areas to relax in and out of the sun. It was totally private but close to local amenities albeit other than grocery runs we didn’t leave it! Communication with the owner was great throughout. Overall I couldn’t recommend this Villa highly enough and can’t wait to return in the future.

Empfehlenswert
Wir haben die Zeit in dieser schönen, ruhig gelegenen Villa sehr genossen. Das Haus und die Terrasse mit dem Pool haben bei uns keinen Wunsch offen gelassen. Die Lage ist perfekt für Ausflüge an der Algarve, aber auch ein Urlaubstag am Haus lässt sich entspannt genießen.

Perfekte Ferien an der Algarve
Wir haben sehr schöne Urlaubstage in einem gut ausgestatteten Ferienhaus verbracht. Das Ferienhaus wird sehr realistisch präsentiert. Alles ist neu renoviert und sehr sauber. Einziges Manko: wir haben keinen Besen oder Staubsauger gefunden, um das Haus sauber zu halten. Das Haus liegt ruhig, aber dennoch nah an der Schnellstraße. Wir haben von dort jeden Tag etwas unternommen. Sagres ist nicht weit und auch in Richtung Osten kann man Ausflüge machen. Supermärkte waren in der Nähe. Ein Auto ist unserer Meinung nach unbedingt erforderlich.

Optimal für ruhige Ferien zu zweit
Sehr gepflegtes, ruhig gelegenes Haus für Gäste, die gerne für sich sind. Die Küche ist nicht die neuste (wird aber in Kürze ersetzt, wie wir erfahren haben), es ist aber alles da, um zwei oder vier Personen zu bekochen. Die Bäder sind sauber und mit Dusche / Badewanne ausgestattet. EIn geräumiger Wohnraum lädt auch an kühlen ABenden zum Verweilen ein. Der grosszügige Pool ist zwar saukalt (Oktober), ist aber sauber und hat verschiedene Tiefen. Rund ums Haus gibt es verschiedene Sitzgelegenheiten für jede Tageszeit, auch mit Schatten. Es sind keine direkten Nachbarn vorhanden, und somit ist man ganz für sich. Für allfällige Anliegen und Probleme haben die Manger vor Ort immer ein offenes Ohr und sind sehr hilfsbereit.

Wonderful house and hosts
We had a wonderful stay at Eleanor’s and Paul’s house! The place is well furnished, super clean and cozy. All amenities are available and ready for you to enjoy every minute of your holidays. The house is closely located to a lot of sightseeing spots. On top of that, Sharon and Bill who are managing the property were both very friendly. Huset er som det ses på billederne. En stille sidevej og ikke så langt fra omkring liggende byer. Dagligvarer butikker, under 10 minutter kørsel. Køkke redskaber nogenlunde ok. Madrasserne skal skiftes ud, man ligger ikke godt på dem. Vi havde heller ikke adgang til appelsin havet som står på beskrivelsen af huset. Dejlig pool og udendørs møbler. Alt i alt godt.

Excellent villa in the perfect location
The house was perfect. Plenty space indoors, comfortable beds, good wi-fi, TV (if you want TV) and good air-conditioning throughout. Kitchen has all you need, bath and shower both fine. But really, the best part of this property is the outdoor area. Good sized pool, very clean, plenty seating options and good bbq. The pool area gets the sun from 8am to 9pm and there's a shaded sitting area if preferred. The location is exactly what we want. Off the road in a quiet area, surrounded by fields and trees. You need a car to get to shops, restaurants and the beach but the drive is only about 10 minutes. Thoroughly recommend this property

We had a lovely stay, the kitchen is a bit dated..However is clean and has everything you could possibly need....but we didn’t come on holiday to stand in a kitchen. The outside Space is perfect , great bbq cooking area. Plenty of space for loungers and perfect pool. Bill the property manager is excellent. We will come again.

Maison agréable mais manque hygiène
Nous avons trouvé la situation de la maison très bien. La piscine, les terrasses extérieures sont bien également. Par contre, il est a noter un manque de propreté, les placards de la cuisine, la vaisselle à faire en partie à notre arrivée (certains couteaux, assiettes n’étaient pas net dans les placards), le micro-onde, la cafetière qui aurait bien besoin d’être remplacée d’ailleurs. La douche, il faudrait nettoyer les joints et traiter la famille de fournies qui s’est installée derrière le bidet ou le WC et dans la chambre du fond. Je suis désolée mais il est important de donner des avis constructifs !!

Relaxing and Covid safe
It was a great experience. The house was very clean, the pool has impeccable maintenance and the check in and check out were totally adjusted to Covid-safe procedures. The location is very quiet but at a 15-20 minutes car Distance to beaches, supermarkets, nice restaurants, etc. We totally recommend it.

The house was lovely, and it was particularly great to have four different areas where to sit in the sun or the wind or the rain respectively ;-) We really loved the outside lights after dark. As we were there in mid-October, you had to be very brave in order to swim in the beautiful pool, though. It was easy to get around and visit places, e.g. the famous cliffs and rock formations, and we also found a couple of beaches that were not so overcrowded. The property managers, Sharon and Bill, popped in once or twice to make sure everything was okay. We really enjoyed our stay at the villa.

Excellent villa
The villa was excellent and we found that it had everything to make us all feel comfortable, it really felt like a home from home. The beds were so comfortable. The pool was a real winner for all of us and we spent most days relaxing and playing in or around it. The gazebo gave you somewhere to relax when you just wanted a bit of shade. The outdoor BBQ area was used most evenings and we had some lovely meals from it. The villa is in a nice quiet location but supermarkets are 10 minutes away and you can reach the local beaches within 15 minutes. The property manager Bill was only ever a phone call away and popped in a couple of times to check that everything was going well. Communication with the owner was great and always very prompt. We all really enjoyed our stay and felt so relaxed, we would love to go back. If you are reading this just go ahead and book it you wont regret it.

Wonderful villa
Villa was fantastic, especially the pool. Lots of extra touches to make the villa feel like home. Location was great to access beaches and lovely towns.
