Feb 2024 Fijne accommodatie aan het strand. Kamers 8102-8104 prachtig uitzicht over zee, 1e verdieping. Goed uitgeruste keuken, 2 kookplaten, koffiemachine, waterkoker, handdoek, sponsje, afwasmiddel voor 1e dagen. Goede bedden. Elke dag schoonmaak en handdoekenwissel. Genoeg parkeerplaatsen. Koud zoutwaterzwembad. Ik hou ervan. Wandelmogelijkheden op de boardwalk. Gebruik van alle faciliteiten van Dom João II, zwembad, spa, fitness, bar. Hier ook inchecken! Wel gehorig als je luidruchtige buren hebt. Zal zeker terugkeren.

Our room had nothing to do with the photos we saw. Very run down and old rooms, we had a separate villa but everything was sticky etc. Staff in the hotel was not very friendly and seemed way too much overworked. Run down place. Great location but hotel needs urgent investment.

Horrible sewer stench in villas - very very BAD!!!
My wife and I stayed at this facility November 2-7. We were booked and paid through the 9th. We left two days early - our first time ever doing this in 50+ years of travel worldwide. This campus is in two parts; the high rise main hotel building, which appeared to be excellent and who’s staff were really very good and professional. The other part is the two-story villas. Both parts seem to date from the 1970s/80s and, despite efforts, are showing their age. But two ‘thumbs up’ for the main building and service there. The setting, beside the sea and between Alvor and Portimao is excellent. I understand there’s a golf course. That’s all good. HOWEVER...our experience in the villas was a disaster. We arrived as booked and were advised our room/villa was not ready/available. After a wait of several hours we were sent to a nice newly refurbished villa. Only problem was the toilets stunk - sewer gases escaping into the rooms via bad in-floor plumbing and seals. It was bad. Next day we were moved to another villa who’s toilets stunk even worse. Nothing could be done to fix this (old building, old plumbing, extremely poor maintenance...someone needs firing), so the next day we were moved again. Third building - same problem - horribly stinking toilets due to sewer gases escaping the plumbing. We communicated this to the front desk, but nothing could be done. On the 7th we gave up and left, two days early. We are amazed that this condition is allowed to exist.

When we know we have a Guest that is not totally satisfy with something we do our best to improve what they consider need some improvement. Let me give you good news, we already preparing carefully the refurbishment to our Hotel in near future. Uitstekende ligging vlakbij het strand waardoor je o.a. wordt uitgenodigd om te gaan wandelen. De Villa's zelf zijn prima geoutilleerd, vrijwel alle noodzakelijke zaken zijn aanwezig en alles wordt uitstekend schoongehouden, kortom een warme aanrader!!

The check in staff at arrival were very helpful and spoke extremely good english - The Villa we stayed in was very tired and had quite a bit of damage in the kitchen - it was however spotlessly clean. The proximity to the beach and boardwalk made up for the lack of luxury. The hotel had a heated indoor pool - sauna and steam room which was lovely - we never ate at the hotel but did eat at the beach bar and the food was very good. Supermarket 300yds from Villa .

Super Lage direkt am Strand, Hotel schon älteren Baujahres, aber renoviert, gutes Frühstücksbuffet, Abendbuffet eher mäßig vom Angebot (besser in eines der Strandlokale gehen), 1-bedroom-villa mit Küchenzeile nicht übermäßig groß, aber völlig ausreichend mit 1 Kind, Hotel nicht besonders kinderfreundlich, eher für älteres Publikum, Personal langsam und nicht sehr aufmerksam
