“Really lovely stay at The Grand - hotel room is spacious, clean and comfortable and added touch of chocolates/anniversary card. We did receive our Expedia VIP benefit of £20 food/wine credit but actually didn't realise we had so would have been good for this to be noted. We also enjoyed the spa in the morning and the breakfast (though at £25 , make sure you're hungry). Lovely 1906 bar too with live music. Walkable to York. ”

“We have been here many times over the last 20yr . I belive you get what you pay for. The staff are nice but you need to ring for sevice as desk is not manned. “Great hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room and good breakfast. High chairs for my toddler. Close to all the major sites. Two things that can be improved: parking information prior to arrival and room cleanliness (it was fine but details like hair in the bathroom and dust under the bed are a bit icky). "The room was extremely hot. I got a room without windows nor any ac. I asked if there was an alternative it was not. So basically no sleep and not possible to work in the room. Since the room temp was closer to 28 degrees. "
