SH Villa Gadea is a really nice resort, located on the outskirts of Altea, surrounded by a nice garden and a fabulous pool area.
Our room was spacious and had nice sea views from the top floor. It also had a bath tub on the terrace (I wouldn't call it a jacuzzi because of its shape). The bed was not particularly comfortable, but very big. The sofa bed felt very uncomfortable to me, but our son had no complaints sleeping on it.
There are 3 pools of varying depth, and plenty of sun beds. The hotel has a policy against "reserving" sun beds, and actually enforces it, which we thought was good. If you leave your sun bed unused for a long time, they come and fold up your towel and put it on a table, so somebody else can use the sun bed.
The buffet restaurant is unusually good. The food selection is not very wide, but quality is relatively high.
What really surprised us was the thalasso area at the spa. It had a huge array of water features and the atmosphere was really calm (because there is a fee, there are few guests using it). We loved it. Kids are allowed in during certain time slots.
Overall a very nice resort.
