Our seven days at 9 Streets Apartment was the perfect location for exploring Amsterdam. Our host, Steve, was great about communicating, was welcoming and available, with great recommendations for sightseeing, transportation and restaurants... A kind and respectful host. The bus from the airport is just a 10 minute walk to the apartment, where we were warmly welcomed, and easy to get for the return using Steve’s directions.
As for the apartment, it was spotless, with a wonderful and spacious bath that featured our favorite European amenity, a heated towel rack, stocked with shampoo, cream rinse, soap, razors, deodorant etc, so you can leave that stuff home. The bedroom has a large closet space, very comfortable bed, lots of pillows, blankets/throws and plenty of room to move around. It was very quiet due to the separation from the street front by a long hall and two doors. We live in a rural area at home, and are disturbed by noise at night. No complaints here. The use of mirrors coupled with the large window made it pleasant and a great space for organizing before a day of adventure. The living room provided a great and attractive hang out , with a library of books, maps etc to help with finding what to do. It was fun to look out onto a typical street scene with bicycles and pedestrians . Across the street is a cute cafe that serves a lovely breakfast, and yummy croissants.
We used the small but well stocked kitchen for some breakfasts and snacks, and it was great. The cupboard was stocked with essentials; tea, coffee, honey, basic spices and cooking staples. And the restaurants in Amsterdam are fabulous, so plan to sample as much as you can.
From 9 Streets we walked everywhere. And the price for this rental is very competitive with tiny rooms in hotels that ere not as close to the action. We never felt like we were in an unsafe area, even returning late in the evening.
We highly recommend this VRBO rental, and will be sure to contact Steve when we return. Thanks for everything, Steve!
