Frequent traveller to Amsterdam
I’ve been traveling to Amsterdam every second week for the last 12 years and I’ve stayed at many hotels in Amsterdam. Overall I give this hotel 6 out of 10. First. I know that many old buildings in Amsterdam have a different layout of the rooms. I got one of these inconvenient rooms as I call them. The space in the room was in two separate levels. The living room was down stairs and the shower and bathroom was five steps up in the second level. This is very inconvenient if you’ve to get up in the night to go to the bathroom. I hate these kind of layouts in some hotels. You have to plan everything if you want to visit the bathroom if you don’t want to run up and down the stairs. The bed was great and the variety of tv-channels was also great. Besides that the shower was on another level it was spacious and it had everything that you could need. Breakfast. This was another thing that kept down my total experience of the hotel. It was to noisy for my opinion. Four different people asked me if I wanted to have coffee or tee. I mean, don’t they have a system for these kind of things. For example. If one waiter ask me if I want some coffee and i say no. Could they not just turn the coffee cup upside down so the other staff see that. This could not be so hard to figure out a system for this. Value for the money. No! I prefer to stay at other 5 star hotels in the city center in Amsterdam. So, my overall rating is 6 out of 10. Kai

We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, but it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. It is unfortunate that we did not find out that the room allocation was not up to your liking, because I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. The feedback regarding your breakfast will be followed up with the right department head in order to improve ourselves where needed. Hopefully you will provide us with a second change in the near future to prove ourselves a better host.

Härlig helhetsupplevelse med vänlig och bra personal. Fantastiskt hus och rum. På mimuslistan kan bara läggas dels knepigt utbud av TV-kanaler samt att gymmet är extremt litet.

Fantastic service and location
I spent a weekend in June with my mom in Amsterdam. The perfect city weekend at a perfect hotel. The location was great with walking distance everywhere. Great service at the hotel. We got an early check in and were upgraded to a better room. The breakfast is very expensive but worth it. Beautiful hotel with beautiful rooms.

Centralt beläget kanonhotell
Mycket fint och mysigt hotell beläget väldigt centralt. Nära till allt och personalen var väldigt hjälpsamma och tillmötesgående. Ett av de bästa hotellen jag har varit på.

Vi villa lyxa till det lite och då passade hotellet perfekt! Bra med pool och grejer. Dock är priset i högsta klassen med tanke på vad man får för pengarna. Rummen är väldigt fina men kanske lite under förväntan. Ändå en bra helhet!

Perfekt för den kräsne
Allt från mottagande vid ankomst till rum, frukost, service var toppen. Vi hade hört mycket gott om Sofitel-hotell och kan bara instämma. Allt var på toppnivå. Ganska dyrt beroende på period men det är det värt. Rummet var oklanderligt, rent, snyggt, inga ovälkomna odörer och man hörde inte ett ljud utifrån. Kan verkligen rekommenderas!

The rooms lack USB ports for charging. The windows offer a difficult view and are draughty. The maximum room temperature was 25 centigrade which is too cold for us. Bridges restaurant has a very limited menu. Room was clean and modern with a nice turn down service. Coffee is free in the room but there is the usual mini bar. Bed very comfortable. Lighting a bit dim and quite a few TV channels missing. Online room service menu was inoperative but the old fashioned method was satisfactory. We thought the room was smaller than expected. Transportation can be difficult owing to a one way system which means that a 10 minute walk equals more than a half hour in an Uber. Overall - average to good.

The bed was horrible. The lighting (or lack of it) in the room was ridiculous. The bathroom layout was bizzare. Sink at one end, toilet at the other and shower in the middle. Had to walk through the shower to go from toilet to sink.

We had an issue upon check in and the staff went above and beyond to rectify it immediately. Special thanks to Fillipo, whose actions and generosity define hospitality. He made our stay extra special. If only all hotels could have staff members like him. World class hotel, world class staff. Highly recommended. Will absolutely stay at the Sofitel Grand in the future.

Amazing hotel rooms very high standard, but many of the hotel employees and staff are very arrogant and passive aggressive and they intentionally created fake conflicts to embarrass the hotel guests. I only come back for the rooms, because the staff is always rude.

From arrival to departure, this was.one of the more pleasant and relaxing hotel experiences we have had as a family. Friendly faces, fast check in with a relaxing refreshment. Clear explanation of all important facilities, breakfast and restaurants. Arrived in an upgraded room, which was spotless. Felt very new ab well maintained. Butler and consciereg service was outstanding and fast. Room service good and well priced. Restaurants for both relaxed and fine dining. Will definitely return.

Absolutely amazing experience during my stay in Amsterdam. I travel often and their hospitality has been unmatched, I will certainly remain a loyal member and recommend all to stay here. I dined at Bridges only for breakfast which was lovely and most importantly delicious.
