Located on the Bealey riverbank, Arthur's Pass area in the South Is, NZ and all it's beauty. Staff at the hotel were welcoming and the cabin accommodation of excellent quality. The only drawback was a hot shower the heating system is run by a generator. Recommended.

The photos online do not do The Bealey Hotel justice. Views of the mountains in the distance are spectacular. Clean room with enough space for a quick night or 2 stay. Close enough to Arthur’s Pass but also nice to be a little outside of town to feel like our own private area. The restaurant was lovely for dinner after a long day.

Isolated property
The hotel is very remote, unless you take your car (Arthurs Pass village is several miles away) the only place to eat is in the hotel. Prices to eat here are not over inflated. I like to eat something different so I tried a goat burger but was not impressed. Wife had chicken and she was delighted. Room was clean and tidy.

Comfortable, clean rooms and great views from your room. Dinner was delicious, the staff were very friendly and the continental breakfast in the morning was great. Go for a wander up behind the restaurant and you can see some great views of the valley behind as well.

A place for holiday
It’s a good experience overall. All rooms face to a valley and the view is very beautiful. Our room is clean and comfortable, we had a good rest at night. Their goat burger is something you shouldn’t miss, it’s the only goat burger in the country, and it’s delicious.

Great location and lovely, polite staff member who was obviously doing her best given resourcing challenges … but would not stay here again unless it has some serious maintenance. The property is untidy with lots of junk under the rooms. There was what smelt like a dead animal next to or in the roof of our room (9) that no amount of air freshener could hide. Two dirty tissues on carpet next to the bed when we checked in and the bathroom door latch was broken so you couldn’t even pull it closed to use the toilet. There was good variety in the continental breakfast, included in the rate. Beautiful view and surrounds, property is just screaming for investment.

Fantastic - exceeded all expectations. We had the superior villa with the spa - very special - with snow capped mountains around. The photos don’t do justice. The villa had been beautifully renovated and was lovely and modern - even had cotton robes. And the view!!! Food was great and managers absolutely lovely and so helpful. Definitely one of NZ’s special spots. Highly, highly recommended.

It’s the Serenity
A pleasant surprise. We booked this hotel late in our planning due to a timeline adjustment on our part, but the room and the dining restaurant were all extraordinary good. We loved the place and is highly recommend by us. Continental breakfast included in our booking was also a great way to start our day’s journey.

The Bealey Hotel is an excellent base from which to explore Arthur's Pass National Park. The hotel itself is in a very picturesque spot, with opportunities to take walks along a river. We stayed in one of the villas, with our suite being extremely quiet and having a wonderful view. We took advantage of the option to order box lunches, which we took with us on an all-day hike. The dining options at the hotel itself are relatively simple but wholesome and satisfying.

Location, location, location! We stayed one night. The view was spectacular. We arrived at 3, got settled and the went for a riverbed walk. Wear hard soles shoes because walking on the rocks can be tricky. Seeing the mountains and how the water flows amongst the rocks is amazing. Dinner and dessert in the restaurant was delicious. Seeing the stars at night was wonderful. Bed was comfortable. I appreciated the ability to make a cup of tea/coffee in the room. Breakfast was fine. I’m glad we stayed at the Bealey.

Amazing views but very remote so internet is an issue. Book the restaurant for a meal as there is no other option in the area. The meals are excellent

Très bien
Belle et grande chambre avec une vue à couper le souffle sur la vallée. L'hôtel lui-même est au milieu de nulle part mais propose tout le nécessaire pour ne pas avoir à en ressortir pour manger notamment. Le restaurant est plus que correct et le petit-déjeuner également. Mention spéciale pour le jacuzzi privatif avec vue sur la vallée !

I loved the room and it was very private. Staff were extremely friendly and the room was very clean. They do note that sand flies are an issue in the rooms, and although I didn’t appreciate any at the time, I was covered in horrible bug bites the next day :( The restaurant food was mediocre. Not a lot of healthy options to chose from. Overall I did enjoy my stay here and would go back with more bug repellent!
