Upplev den vackraste delen av bergen i denna historiska århundradets verkliga timmerstuga. Föreställ dig själv i denna autentiska timmerstuga 1928 omgiven av antika Smokey Mountain-antikviteter som dekorerar stugan. Byggd 1928 och totalrenoverad 2015 är denna stuga verkligen speciell. Vi kunde återställa det ursprungliga lystret på de huggade timmerväggarna och stenpisen, och sedan tilllade vi bara några moderna bekvämligheter. Vi ombyggde hela köket och det nya badrummet har en fantastisk stendusch. En ny queen size-säng och en ny madrass med kuddeöverdrag garanterar en perfekt bekväm vistelse. Och ... om du absolut måste ta med barnen, finns det soffa och luftmadrasser.

Hickory Nut Lodge ligger i ett historiskt bergssamhälle som går tillbaka till 1920. Denna stuga har en rik historia, full av kryddig folklore som vi gärna skulle vilja dela med dig. Bekvämt beläget 12 miles från Asheville och 8 miles från Chimney Rock & Lake Lure. Denna historiska timmerstuga är perfekt för dig som vill vara i bergen men tillräckligt nära Asheville för att njuta av allt som staden har att erbjuda.

Ta utsikt över Little Pisgah Mountain från din gungstol på verandan. Njut av romantiska grillar på däck eller koppla av under stjärnorna i din egen privata badtunna. Om du letar efter en romantisk undanflygning är denna giltiga timmerstuga 1928 precis platsen! Hickory Nut Lodge är allt du kommer till Asheville för och det kommer definitivt att överträffa dina vildaste förväntningar och naturligtvis är husdjur alltid välkomna. OBS: Det finns en engångsavgift på $ 75 för husdjur.

VÄNLIGEN NOTERA; Ytterdörren är på den övre nivån. Dörren på den lägre nivån är ditt tvättstuga. Vi har en parkeringsplats för en (1) bil, det är precis framför kabinen. Denna stuga ligger i ett bergssamhälle. Fyrhjulsdrift rekommenderas starkt under vintermånaderna. Om det snöar kommer du att behöva det.

Cabin rental

The road to the cabin had been washed out so we could not get to it. The host offered to let us stay at another cabin they had which was unrented. We just paid more for cleaning and stayed there. The cabin was well supplied with everything you need. We loved it and really enjoyed staying there. We hope to stay there again sometime in the future.

Mountain Getaway

The parking space is VERY small. We drove our Nissan Rogue and it fit, but anything larger and the car would have been sticking out in the road. Thankfully it’s a small gravel street with no traffic. Property appeared to have been empty for a while. Cobwebs throughout house, some spiders noticeable. A soft spot in the kitchen floor. Made contact with property owner and she was quick to respond. Had her property management team drop off some bug spray. Hot tub smelled clean but had many floating particles in it. Overall an ok stay. House is old, and could use some upkeep. Beautiful area.

Relaxing anniversary

Listing is accurate with all around rustic feel. Reviews are accurate about parking however property just past is for sale so no big deal to block the shared gravel drive. We enjoyed our stay for certain but it’s priced high for what it is. Some general cleaning and maintenance needs to be done. Appeared as if nobody had been there in a while. We sipped coffee by the fire while building a puzzle and we’re greeted with snow that we enjoyed from the hot tub.

Not for immobile people

The access road to the cabin is a very narrow dirt/gravel road barely passable for one car. One parking area in front does not allow room for another car to pass. The hot tub had mold on the cover and exterior surface leaving us skeptical about using it. The tub is positioned at the top of the steep stairs leading up to the cabin. The chance of getting out of the tub and falling down the stairs is a risk. Overgrown trees and bushes obscured the view. Most of the lights on the porch were burned out, electrical outlets were dangerously overloaded and close to the hot tub. At the price point we paid, including fees for cleaning we expected more. I would not recommend this cabin to anyone. I can't imagine getting a car up the incline in the winter. This cabin needs some TLC.

Perfect getaway

The cabin was the perfect combination of rustic cabin and modern upgrades/conveniences. Less than 20 minutes down to Chimney Rock. We can’t rave enough about the Far Nectar venue nearby and the coffee shop right by the house. We will definitely be coming back!

Recommend

Had a very enjoyable stay. A little farther from Asheville due to windy mountain roads than what we wanted but we made it work. We kinda stumbled upon the Chimney Rock downtown area and had a great afternoon exploring there as well. Overall we loved the cabin, the amenities but parking needs a little work, we were warned it was tricky so it wasn’t a surprise when we first got there and almost got stuck. I’d stay here again when we want to hike!!

Perfect for a Romantic Getaway

We had a great time at the adorable little cabin in the mountains! It was perfect for a romantic anniversary getaway. It’s small, but very thoughtfully done and was just the right size for the two of us. It would have been a bit cramped for more than two, but was exactly what we were looking for. We loved sitting out on the deck and enjoyed the hot tub under the stars. The parking spot in front was pretty intimidating for me to navigate, so I made my husband do it each day! :). We had a great time and loved our pick for this trip!

Not as described

Property is not as decribed by host. The cabin is not secluded nor romantic. The parking is awful, especially for a truck. A head up would have been nice. Front door is not very secure, very bad lighting out front that barely reaches your vehicle. Bed is extremely squeaky and the matress saggy. Quite a few cobwebs and the floor has multiple soft/sinking spots. Also, you cannot cover all windows; may not be a big deal to you, but it was to us for our honeymoon. Our clothes and bags had a distinct odor after staying 4 nights. Not a pleasant experience.

Cabin stay

Our four night stay at the cabin in Gerton, NC was average at best. The cabin could use a good deep cleaning inside and out. The steps need to be pressure washed. They were very slick and could cause a fall if not careful. The previous house guest must have had a dog with them, as there was dog hair on the comforter. One of the smoke alarms in the bedroom kept chirping due to a bad battery. Also the DISH remote would not work. Like some other reviews, I found the driveway to be sketchy at times trying to park and leave the cabin. You must back all the way down the drive to leave the property. Probably will not stay at this cabin again.

Peaceful getaway

The cottage is rustic and adorable. Peaceful, private and has everything you need. Perfect location easy to get to all attractions and tourist destinations. It gets pitch black at night so be home before dark. Only downside is parking is very tricky owner should remove the ugly useless shrubs in front up open up the space to make parking easier. Car or small suv is recommended pickup is difficult. I loved the quaint, cozy, rustic charm

Adorable and convenient with a few qwarks

A picturesque relaxing little cabin, easy to find and an easy drive to Asheville. The house is well equipped, relaxing, cozy and clean. The shower is lovely, inside is instagram and pet ready. It is a little smaller than the photos appear, but was good for two people and a dog. There is not a lot of space for a dog to run around, which was fine but to be noted if your dog(s) need a running space. Our only wish was that the hot tub would have got to temp. We were there in mid 40/50 degrees, it was never able to get above 98, but relaxing. The neighbors are close, we never saw anybody, definitely not secluded. You have to back down a small part of the driveway which I saw reviewed. It was fine for the few days we were there. Thank you for taking furry friends!

Just OK

The photos make it look much larger than it actually is, though the view was very nice. The “parking spot” was very difficult to manage as it’s on a very steep single lane gravel road which even my SUV slipped and tires spun each time trying to wiggle over far enough. The owner failed to send the code for the lockbox, then insisted she had sent it but would tell me what it was anyways. Came off slightly rude. The bed was comfortable, but cobwebs were everywhere and backup comforter smelled so bad it was unusable. Overall we enjoyed our stay as it was in a good location, but would not stay in this particular cabin again.

Anniversary weekend

We had a great time at this property for our anniversary weekend! Clean and well stocked! Only issue was with the parking! It is truly on a steep mountain road! May want a vehicle w/ all wheel or a 4x4!

Numerous Safety Hazards, Shady Owner

1) no lights on stairs or outside if you arrive after dark. Stone steps are steep and dangerous. 2) multiple water damage places on kitchen floor where someone can (and will eventually) fall through (owner attempts to cover soft spots with rugs) 3) the pullout sofa is broken! My husband hurt his back attempting to set it up and put it away. Owner is aware and directs you to use the air mattress because it’s ‘more comfortable’ 4) owner claimed undue damages at end so take pictures. Yes, you’re dealing with that kind of person….stay away!!
