Havsutsikt och skogens lugn på Rødtangen

In Rødtangen, just an hour from Oslo, you’ll find this gem of a cabin where the sea meets the forest. Here you can enjoy the tranquility with a fantastic view of the Oslo Fjord from the spacious porch, or relax in the outdoor bathtub under the starry sky.



The cabin has running water from April 15 to October 15. In the winter, water is provided in jugs, which are ready and waiting inside upon arrival.





The bright and inviting cabin is decorated in shades of beige, white, and blue, with an open-concept living room and kitchen that creates an intimate atmosphere. Two bedrooms with room for four people make this a perfect getaway for both families and friends. The open floor plan invites long breakfasts around the dining table and cozy evenings on the comfortable corner sofa. You get an authentic cabin experience as there is a wood-burning stove in the cabin.



The outdoor area is an oasis with several zones for both activity and relaxation. You’ll find a covered porch with a grill and dining area, lounge chairs on the lawn, and a pergola with swings and hammocks. From May, the lilacs bloom, and from July, the hydrangeas are in full bloom, while you can enjoy the sun from morning to evening. You can also take a refreshing and delightful bath in the corner tub out on the veranda, which can be used when the summer water supply is on.

Even in winter, the lake can be enjoyed as it rests in its own quiet tranquility. The silence is deep, the air clear, and the atmosphere almost magical. A place to unwind, find some alone time, and let the days pass a little more slowly, in peace and reflection. When spring arrives, nature comes to life; enjoy the birdsong, the white anemones, and the lilacs in bloom.



From the cabin, it’s just a three-minute walk to the lake, and the Coastal Trail offers spectacular hikes along the fjord. Three kilometers away lies charming Holmsbu with its cafes and restaurants. For extra relaxation, visit Holmsbu Resort, just a half-hour walk away, where a spa and pool await you. In Hurummarka, you’ll find idyllic forest lakes such as Rødvann, Langvann, and Røskestadvann, with excellent opportunities for trout and perch fishing. There is parking near all the lakes and short walks through the forest to quiet fishing spots.
