Perfect
Elizabeth was very friendly and accommodating. Room was very clean and comfortable. Motel is very convenient if travelling on Manitoulin Island and taking the ferry. Spectacular sunset. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Highly recommended.
We stayed for three days. The room was well laid out, with several nice touches. The room had a bar fridge (with freezer), toaster, coffee maker, paper plates and cutlery. Outside was a barbeque and sitting area. The owner and her son were attentive to our requests for additional coffee, and we chose to forgo the daily making of the room. Also, her son made a number of great recommendations to visit and suggestions for meals.

The room was large, immaculate and modern. All the conveniences we needed were there- toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge, keurig, cutlery, plates along with keurig pods and some teas, sugar and coffee creamer. The bathrooms were spotless, and the beds comfy. TV worked great. The building itself was a gem in an isolated location. Highly recommend.

Writing this review while on a 10-day Ontario roadtrip. I am already missing Manitoulin Island and the Wayside. Such a peaceful place full of kind, welcoming people. My lodging review: Truly every detail has been accounted for in this roadside motel. Cleanliness. Modern updates. Comfortable. Spacious. This isn’t your typical roadside motel. This is officially my second favorite lodging accommodation I’ve ever stayed in - second only to a four star in New York. This effort put into making this motel great would be easy to take for granted because it just feels so easy to stay here. The caretakers have anticipated all our needs. We will be back.

While the motel is near a road, it is very quiet. The room #5 was excellent and well equipped. We walked to the lake from the motel (15 minutes). Everything was great. Could see the pride of ownership all around. Thank you!

Motel is located right off the main highway, very convenient if you're coming off/taking the Chicheemaun. Clean rooms with comfortable beds. Flat screen tv, keurig coffee and mini fridge were a nice touch!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Elizabeth was very kind and helpful at check-in. The place is very clean and the room spacious with 2 double beds. The night very quiet, good for sleeping and there are a few restaurants a short distance away. Right off the Hwy 6, it is very convenient and close to Georgian Bay. Good attention to detail for things one may need and a nice shower!

Elizabeth was so welcoming as soon as we walked in to check in. She was so informative with the questions we asked. But most of all I have to say the room was so well decorated, the bed was so comfortable and the sofa all just amazing. We were in aw! Our stay was above and beyond expectations. The out door seating area was absolutely comfortable with patio sets and extra chairs and tables. It was just absolutely perfect. No doubt about it hands down we will return!

Big rooms and clear with big windows. Bathroom completely new and spotless clean. Table in the room. Elisabeth gave many good travel tips and we even got a coffeemaker at the room with fresh milk. Environment very lovely with tables to drink morning coffee.

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in Manitoulin Island and the Wayside Motel was a fantastic experience. The unit was spotless and well appointed. The motel is centrally located, perfect for all of our excursions about the island. Elizabeth went above and beyond providing some of her own supplies when we were in need. I highly recommend Wayside if you're staying on the island!!

Just a perfect place for Manitoulin Island.
Wayside was a wonderful place and location for our two nights on Manitoulin. Elizabeth is a wonderful and efficient host, the rooms and bathrooms are spacious and recently renovated, with some great touches. There's a bbq grill to share, plus kitchen accessories ( note: no oven other than microwave.) It's a very convenient location, and z.a community of Manitowaning is a short distance away, even walkable. Suggest shopping at one of grocery stores or picking up takeout when you first get to Island before arriving as dining out options are a bit limited on island. All on all, Wayside is highly recommeded.

This recently renovated motel room was spacious, very attractive, modern, super clean and so comfortable. It had a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, cutlery ready for making your own meal or snack. The grounds are being worked on so don’t judge the room by the outside. We would book this motel again in the future.

Large clean room with very comfortable beds. There was a bbq for guest use if you needed it. Convenient location for access to both the highway and town. Great value and very comfortable stay with friendly staff.

The motel was very clean and the owner was very friendly and helpful, the only two issues we had were no house keeping during our stay and the fact that there was an extra charge for them to dispose of beer and/or wine containers. Those two items may be on their website, and I missed them, but if they aren't perhaps they should be.

This is our second time staying at this property. We love the location and The friendly staff. The BBQ and table allow for you to cook your own meals. We forgot about the early checkout, 11am would be more convenient for us, 10am is a bit early, although I understand the need to have amble time for cleaning between guests. We would recommend this property.
