Welcome to Chalet Sissi Seaview – a small, lovingly kept Cretan home with character, sea views from every window and that rare feeling of peace you only find in a few places.
Located just 600 metres from the sea and built into a hillside surrounded by Mediterranean nature, the chalet offers a breathtaking panorama across the entire bay – from Malia to Stalida, Hersonissos and all the way to the island of Dia. With balconies on every floor and cosy beds facing the sea, it truly feels like living above the water.
Enjoy your morning coffee in the sun, take a refreshing dip in the sea, explore beaches, caves or small harbour towns – and in the evening watch the sky turn golden, sometimes accompanied by soft live music drifting over from a nearby hotel. Staying at the chalet has something wonderfully calming.
This is not a sterile resort but a real Cretan home. You may hear sheep or see the local farmer pass by on his tractor, and most of the time you will enjoy deep, soothing quiet. Yet beaches, tavernas, hiking paths and charming villages are only minutes away – the ideal blend for nature lovers, families, hikers and anyone seeking tranquillity without being far from beautiful places.
The chalet is fully equipped to make you feel at home:
– comfortable double beds, both with sea view
– modern air-conditioning in both bedrooms
– fully equipped kitchen (induction stove, microwave, filter coffee machine, toaster, kettle)
– washing machine
– Wi-Fi (approx. 20 Mbit/s)
– Smart TV with Amazon Prime & FireTV Stick (no cable TV)
Layout:
Ground floor: bedroom (1.40 m), kitchen, bathroom with shower/WC
Upper floor: second bedroom (1.60 m), small seating nook, separate WC
Every room has its own balcony or terrace.
Guest Access
From 4:00 PM onwards, you can enter the chalet easily with a door code – no key handover required.
Late arrivals are no problem.
If you need to arrive earlier, just let me know; in many cases I can adjust the timing.
Interaction with Guests
I am not on site during your stay, and you will have the chalet entirely to yourself.
Of course, I am always available if you need anything or have any questions.
Good to Know Before You Book
– The chalet is surrounded by Mediterranean nature – insects like ants or small crawlers are part of it, especially with open windows.
– The hillside location creates the stunning sea view but includes around 50 metres of uphill walking and is not barrier-free.
– All guests so far have had a rental car – and I strongly recommend it, as walking to the bus stop in the strong sun is hardly manageable.
– If you visit in winter: the house has no heating (hot water is always available).
The surroundings are typically Greek: a few unfinished buildings, farmers, sheep, and the occasional dog barking. Depending on the wind, you may also hear a little live music from the nearby hotel in the evening.
All of this is part of this unspoiled corner of Crete – calm, honest, and wonderfully genuine. Perfect for guests who appreciate exactly this authenticity.
