The home

Spread across two levels, Silk House sleeps families, couples, and small groups in three distinct bedrooms. The main level features a spacious master bedroom with soaring ceilings, an elegant chandelier-lit living room, and a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. The lower level offers two additional bedrooms, a modern shared bathroom, and a compact secondary kitchen - ideal for longer stays or remote work.

Metaxourgeio is one of Athens’ more interesting and evolving neighbourhoods. It sometimes attracts mixed opinions, so we always like to give our guests an honest picture of where they will be staying.

The Silk House is located in a fairly residential part of Metaxourgeio, where you’ll find local residents, neighborhood cafés and a genuine sense of everyday Athenian life.

We are not located directly in the historic tourist center, but that’s part of the charm. Monastiraki Square, a wonderful starting point for exploring Plaka, Hadrian’s Library, the Roman Agora and the Acropolis, is approximately a 20-minute walk away.

Closer to home, you’ll discover some fabulous off-the-beaten-path restaurants, traditional tavernas, independent cafés and bars that offer a different, more local side of Athens.

Like many central city neighborhoods, Metaxourgeio has its contrasts, with some streets more polished than others. We are always happy to share our favorite places and recommended walking routes so you can explore comfortably and confidently.
