We stayed here over Easter weekend while visiting family at Ohio University, and this place completely exceeded our expectations.From the moment we walked in, it felt like home. Not just clean and comfortable—but cozy, welcoming, and the kind of place you instantly relax in.The owners were amazing to work with—great communication and super accommodating. They even let us check in a day early, which gave us extra time to unwind (and made it very hard to leave at the end!).The cabin is set up perfectly for both relaxing and spending quality time together. The large dining table was a highlight—we ended every night playing games, laughing, and just enjoying being together.It’s peaceful, private, and feels like a true getaway, while still being close enough to Athens when you want to head into town.We actually joked during our stay that we might just become squatters… but in reality, we’re already planning our next visit. This may officially be our home away from home when visiting Athens.Highly recommend!

What an amazing stay in Athens! Chase and Danielle are incredibly accommodating and great with communication. The cabin is perfect for families or gatherings of friends. Not too far from Athens, yet feels so private. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen is well equipped, showers are so nice. It is awesome to have such a nice place to stay in Athens. We will most definitely be back!!

This was a very nice stay for us. The cabin is roomy, nicely decorated and felt very cozy. Ideal for three couples with nice outdoor spaces to chat. The kitchen was very nice with good appliances and everything you need to cook and serve. Perhaps the word cabin doesn’t do it justice because everything is up-to-date and modern. The only downside is that there is a long staircase up to the front door, which may be difficult for people with mobility issues to access. There is a back door that you can drive to, but it requires driving up a very steep gravel driveway to get to it. Some cars may have difficulty getting up that driveway to the back door. The owner was very hospitable, easy to contact and get back to us if we had any questions.

Fantastic experience! Couldn’t ask for a better location — in the woods while only 10 minutes from the conveniences of town and tons in the area to do. The hosts were the best of any we have rented from — start to finish, communication was prompt, thorough, helpful and friendly. It felt like staying at a friend’s home.

A Dreamy Anniversary Escape in the Woods

For our 19th wedding anniversary, we sought a place that felt like a world away from our daily noise—a retreat where our little family of five could slow down, spread out, and savor the rare kind of quiet that only nature can provide. This Athens, Ohio gem did all that and more.From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel like old friends rather than first-time guests. Kind, thoughtful, and deeply accommodating, they’ve curated a space that isn’t just a rental—it’s a warm invitation to breathe deeper, laugh louder, and reconnect.The house itself is both spacious and cozy, elegant yet unfussy. Every corner was beautifully appointed, and we never once felt crowded—no small feat with three kids ages 15, 8, and 3 in tow! Our teenager staked out the loft reading nook, where many rounds of Uno were waged beneath the soft glow of the lamp light. Our littlest was endlessly delighted by the open layout, and all three had space to be themselves.At night, I curled up by the fire ring with a ghosty thriller, and—no lie—had to turn around more than once with goosebumps prickling my neck. The woods whisper just enough to make your imagination dance. Meanwhile, my husband took our boys on hikes and mini climbs, showing them the kind of nature that skyscrapers and sidewalks just can't offer.This place is magic—secluded yet convenient, beautiful yet deeply livable. If you’re on the fence, hop off it and book. You won’t regret it.

Everything we hoped and more!

We stayed over my daughter's OU graduation weekend with family including 1 and 3 year old grandsons and we loved it! Perfect space for celebrating....well equipped kitchen, open design, dining set up, room to dance, and what a cool loft....a wonderful surprise! The beds, bedding, decor, bathroom amenities and upgrades were warm, welcoming and beautiful. The communication with owners and welcome guide was thorough, clear and quick. The property views, outdoor space and fire pit were so enjoyable. Who could ask for more? We will be back!

Not Mom’s Weekend

The property is amazing! The house itself is combination of old and new, and was adorable! The amenities were fantastic…a quiet little slice of solitude. A friend and I came down for to see our kids the weekend after Mom’s Weekend at OU…because we had no desire to fight the crowds on the actual weekend. We went out one night, then decided to just stay in and enjoy a fire the next. It was a fantastic spot for a fantastic visit.

We absolutely loved staying here. It's the dream combination of being 5min from Athens but also completely wooded like you're in Hocking Hills.The house itself was beautifully re-done and extremely comfortable.I have no doubt that we will be back!
