Accessed via a private gated road shared with only a small handful of homes, the property feels wonderfully secluded while still offering all the comforts needed for an easy island stay.



The historic cottage features three bedrooms with a king, queen and double bed, alongside a separate studio-style bunk room and two bathrooms - making it ideal for families or groups wanting space to spread out. Inside, polished wooden floors, open-plan living and thoughtful renovations create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, while central heating, cooling and a log burner ensure year-round comfort.



The fully equipped kitchen, laundry, unlimited Wi-Fi and smart TV make longer stays effortless, whether you’re here for a weekend escape or an extended summer by the water.



Step from the veranda, wander down the lawn and within moments your feet are in the sand. With direct beach access and riparian rights, Barefoot Bach offers an exceptional waterfront position with access to a shared boat ramp and wharf, safe swimming and endless opportunities to enjoy the water.



Bring the paddleboards, kayaks or fishing rods, or simply spend your days exploring the surrounding bays and islands by boat. Two moorings are available for guest use, making this an ideal base for boating enthusiasts wanting to experience this spectacular corner of the Hauraki Gulf.

Other Things to Note:

The property is located at the ‘bottom end’ of the Island (Coromandel end). This is about a 40-minute drive from the Matiatia ferry terminal.

Please note you will need a four-wheel drive vehicle to access Arran Bay Road.

It is also accessible from water - with a pier and two moorings available for use. If you wish to arrive by water, please contact us ahead of time for information regarding moorings.



We always try to accommodate early check-ins and will send you a message on the day as soon as the property is ready. We provide all linen and bath towels. If you require beach towels, please bring your own, or we can arrange hire with advance notice. Baby items including portacots are available to hire too.
