Charmig Välutrustad Lodge från den vackra floden Yarty

Beckford Lodge är ett välutrustat, fristående 2 sovrum fastighet inom grunderna för Beckford Cottage, som ligger i den vackra Yarty Valley, 4 miles från Axminster (tågstationen och busshållplatser). Den närmaste byn är Stockland, 2 miles away och Lodge är nästan lika långt mellan Stockland, Dalwood, Kilmington och Membury. Det finns goda lokala pubar och många härliga promenader. Om du vill komma bort från allt, är Beckford Lodge platsen för dig. Det finns mycket vilda djur i den stora trädgården och längs halv mil lång privat floden. Vi har nära till Lyme Regis, Branscombe, öl, Sidmouth och Honiton. Det är en fantastisk och mycket välfyllda gårdsbutik öppen 7 dagar i veckan bara 2 miles away och vi är bara 7 miles från havet. Centralvärme, tvättmaskin, barnsäng finns vid behov. Väluppfostrade hundar välkomna efter överenskommelse. Ingen rökning.

The Lodge is in a stunning location within the owners extensive gardens, steps away from the river Yarty. The lodge was welcoming with cake and fresh flowers on arrival. Unfortunately we did not find this property adequate for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children age 10 & 14). Whilst the upstairs bedrooms were clean & comfortable the downstairs living space was very cramped. The lounge and dining furniture is very small and uncomfortable, more suitable for parents with very young children. It was not a good space to relax. The kitchen area was well equipped and practical despite being in a small space. The downstairs bathroom needs updating. The grouting was mouldy and the plug holes looked stained and old. The toilet seat was a flimsy, cheap version which moved whenever any of us used the loo! The hot water was mostly consistent but the shower was weak. The WiFi was very weak. Prior to arriving the host’s communication was excellent. However we felt judged and awkward due to an incident between ours and the owners dogs. We took our well behaved, sweet, 1 year old chihuahua and knew in advance that the hosts had 2 dogs. However our chihuahua was scared of them and she barked at them for entering the Lodge and taking her food. The larger male retriever snapped at our little dog and at my husband. After that our dog barked every time she saw the host. We felt judged and awkward because of this. We left the Lodge in a spotless condition. The gardens were our highlight.

This is a well presented lodge with aforethought given to our needs. Isabel was especially caring to ensure our stay was as relaxing and as comfortable as possible. It is, however, a little closer to the cottage than perhaps is indicated in the pictures. The dogs were lovely but some may find their presence a touch invasive. The river also presented us with a little problem as the moist conditions are conducive to their presence! Overall though, for the price, this is a great place to spend a week.

Charming Lodge

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen, die freundlichen Gastgeber haben das Haus wunderschön und durchdacht eingerichtet. Es ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und das Erkunden der Gegend, allerdings braucht man in jedem Fall ein Auto!

Sehr sehr schön, ruhig und liebevolle Unterkunft

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Wer Ruhe sucht und das in einer schönen Umgebung ist hier genau richtig. Und bis zum Meer oder in die Stadt ist es auch nicht weit.. Gerne wieder.

Gorgeous holiday cottage

Overall beautiful setting, gorgeous shared gardens (with owner), lovely river. Owners uber friendly. Cottage is small but delightful. Sofa chairs a bit small for adults, but comfy. There is no hot tub, which was one of our requirements as we love them, but it was an error that the owners hadn't realised on the booking details and they amended it the same day, so you can't fault that! There is a super farm shop complex just down the road. Its so peaceful, tranquil and lovely. We loved our holiday. The owners were very nice and eager to make sure our stay was all that it could be. The beds were really really comfy, i slept like a log!

Great week away.

Beckford Lodge had everything we needed for our stay and the setting is stunning. What a garden!!! So much beautiful countryside to explore from your doorstep. Izzy and Will were the perfect hosts and we look forward to another visit in the future.

Beautiful Location, Charming Hosts

This property looks great on the website but even better in person. Such a cosy well maintained, chocolate box cottage in such pretty and extensive grounds. Izzie and Willy are obviously as attentive to their guests as they are to the well manicured gardens that lead you down to the River Yarty. Really enjoyed our stay here along with the great recommendations of places to eat.

Absolutely perfect for our energetic children who like to explore

We had a fabulous few days staying at the lodge. It was perfect for our needs with an excellent kitchen. The hosts, Isobel and William were incredible and very accommodating of our children who wanted to run around a lot in the gardens and in the river too as well as any anything we needed during our stay too. The lodge was clean, tidy, comfortable and ideal for our little family. Great location, close to amenities and beaches but able to come away and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Will look forward to booking here again. Thank you Isobel and William!

Off the beaten track

Overall the property is as listed. The downstairs area was smaller than we anticipated. Upstairs was nice with well equipped bedrooms with great views. The garden areas are spectacular. It is noteworthy that the roads to the property are single track with close banked hedges. Owners were welcoming along with their 2 Labradors. Overall we enjoyed our stay even if at times the weather was against us.

Peacful Cosy Lodge

This lodge was wonderful and the gardens and grounds of appox 9 acres was fantasticl for our dog Dollie to romp around with the owners dogs (labs), so well laid back, as our dog can be jealous, being the only child, but she made friends of the lead and no issues. there is a river that they can play in. You do have your own small grass garden gated for dogs that can not mix. The Lodge I have to say is small and the T.V. tiny, but you do not go on hoilday to watch telly all the time. The kitchen had everything you needed and more, with a lovely stable door. The bathroom had a great power shower. The Bedrooms were lovely, but you can bump your head on the V shape ceiling, luckly I am under 5' so did not have any issues. The bed was really comfortable as well. This cottage was great for two of us and a big dog. The Lane is appox 2 miles to reach the cottage and very narrow in places, but once you reach this lodge it is great. You do not hear any road noise either. You will need a car to get around, walking on the lanes can be difficult with a dog. The owners were just great and helpful, also Ruskin and Gracey the labs. The surrouding places are Kilmtington and Axminster and Charmouth for fossiles. The small negatives do not outway the whole positives on this cottage, and we will be happy to book again. Thank you Izzy and William for a wonderful stay and we hope to come again soon.

Stunning location and grounds

The property was as described, cosy with everything you need. The grounds were absolutely outstanding with access to the river Yarty which the kids and our dog loved. The only downside was the wi-fi connection which given where we were it wasn't surprising that the wi-fi was pretty intermittent. Ignoring that one thing the owners were super helpful and friendly and our stay was great! Definitely recommend to anyone thinking of a stay there.

Wer Ruhe sucht ist hier gut aufgehoben. Die Wohnung ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet.Die Unterkunft liegt in einen parkähnlichen Garten in einer wunderschönen Landschaft eingebettet. Die Gastgeber haben uns sehr freundlich empfangen und Auskunft über alle wichtigen Dinge, wie Restaurants und Ausflugsziele geben.

Beautiful cottage in splendid grounds

We arrived and was greeted by the hosts William and Issy. They both kindly have us a run down of the cottage and area then left us to explore the beauty of East Devon. The cottage itself was perfectly sized for us (two oldies, two kids and Moosh the dog). Private drive for the car and use of outside table. The cottage is located in a beautiful part of the Devonshire countryside. Not too far from Axminster for any supplies which may be needed. First day we walked to Axminster along the river, this took us about 1.5 hours there and an hour back. Gorgeous scenery. Second day we visited Lyme Regis. Well worth a visit. In all a thoroughly recommended place to stay. Moosh says hello!

Fantastic

There was 4 of us, all adults. The property was lovely but, maybe a little small for 4 adults. The land this property had was amazing, plenty of it for our dogs to run around and there was a stream too which again, was ideal for our dogs. The owners (Isabel and william) were fantastic hosts, very nice people and nothing was too much trouble if you needed anything. I highly recommend this property.
