Lyx och avslappnad atmosfär
Jättefint hotell med fantastisk service. Såväl frukost som middag är av högsta kvalité. Utsikten är underbar från balkongen! Havet är dessutom klart och alldeles turkost. Enda minuset är närområdet. Utanför hotellet är lokalinvånarna ganska påflugna och det finns inte så mycket att göra i form av aktiviteter.

Fint hotell och fin strand
Personalen var fantastiskt trevliga och hjälpsamma! Alltid ett trevligt bemötande! Fint hotell och fin strand. Lite för få solstolar och parasoller tyvärr, så man fick ”paxa” tidigt på morgonen för att vara säker på att få.

Fantastisk mat, excellent service, hjälpsamma och de har det lilla extra. Relativt dyrt men vi tyckte det var värt det. Lite jobbigt med strandförsäljare.

This hotel is extremely well managed with excellent service from the staff. I was amazed at how cheap the hotel was to stay there. The rooms have spectacular sea views and are roomy and well appointed.

The hotel is right on the Beach and our suite was spacious with wonderful views as all rooms have...food all off menu no buffet for full board and the drinks were relatively cheap

Best hotel of our trip
The arrival at the hotel was great. The hotel is not huge so whilst it had plenty of guests it didn't feel crowded. The beach was beautiful. We also benefited from a free upgrade.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property - we booked a suite which had the most amazing balcony and view over the hotel grounds/beach and Indian Ocean. There were a few minor issues but this didn’t deter from our enjoyment, some aspects of the room were a little tired, and the shaver socket in bathroom didn’t work, so difficult to use electric shaver/ hairdryer/electric toothbrush etc. Also bathroom lighting kept turning off, although a bit strange it didn’t deter from our enjoyment of the Hotel. There are beach sellers who are very persistent who stand at edge of hotel garden, so every use of beach and sea involves passing them - that was a bit annoying after a while. The food was great and all the staff very friendly - the sea here is safe to swim in, it is often too rough in many Sri Lanka resorts. The beach here was gorgeous, very clean. We would thoroughly recommend this Hotel - hopefully the minor issues mentioned in the rooms will be sorted. I am not sure if it is possible to deter the beach sellers - but it would be a great improvement to the guest relaxation in the grounds if it were possible. We would hope to return one day to enjoy the views and hospitality again.

A beautiful place to relax!
A perfect place to relax! Extraordinary service and delicious food! The beach is uncrowded and among the most beautiful in the area. We would definitely like to come back. PS: There isn`t a fitness centre at the hotel, but a small room with a treadmill and a stepper machine.

We booked through hotels.com, and got confirmation. We came there and they told us the hotel was fully booked. Did not appologize, rather blamed hotels.com. Did not want to call hotels.com to clarify. I had to call hotels.com myself. They tried to call the hotel, which did not pick up the phone.... The hotel offered us to stay in another hotel they have, which was Nice but not what we wanted and not on the beach. This hotel seems amazing, but very dissapointed and upset that we could not stay there, and not proper appologize.

Nice hotel and place to relax, only things to maybe improve would be to add some ventilation to the bathroom as it turned into a sauna and to maybe increase the amount purchased for the restaurant as it did regularly not have my first choice of food - not great as there aren't many other options in the locality

wir haben für eine Woche dort Urlaub gemacht. Aufgrund der Sicherheitslage war das Hotel fast leer und wir konnten die Annehmlichkeiten sehr geniessen. Das Essen war sehr lecker, zweimal gab es Buffett, ansonsten 4 Gänge Menu, top angerichtet. Die Kellner waren sehr aufmerksam und auch die Damen und Herren an der Rezeption. Wir hatten die Suite gebucht mit einem wahnsinnig schönen Ausblick und sehr viel Platz. Aufgrund der Buchungslage durften wir am Abreisetag sogar bis zum Abreisezeitpunkt bleiben ohne Zuzahlung. Da wir die Suite zu dritt bewohnt haben, wurde uns ohne Zuzahlung ein Bett bereit gestellt. Wir haben verschiedene Ausflüge gemacht mit Nihal, ein einheimischer Fahrer, der am Strand auf Kundschaft gewartet hat. Für uns war das absolut ok und fanden ihn überhaupt nicht aufdringlich.Baden am Strand war leider nicht möglich. Zu hohe Wellen und zu unruhig das Meer. Gegen Spätnachmittag konnte man etwas abseits ins Wasser . Da war das Meer dann etwas ruhiger. Alles in allem , war es ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt, mit einer tollen Lage, sehr nettem Personal und einen traumhaften Ausblick . Hierher würde ich sehr gerne wiederkommen.

Super séjour!
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au Shinagawa Beach. L'hôtel est situé devant une plage magnifique et peu fréquentée. Les infrastructures sont en bon état. Notre chambre était propre et agréable (mention spéciale à la vue depuis le balcon!). Le seul réel point négatif est à notre sens la qualité du service ; si les employés sont très sympatiques et serviables, ils ont en revanche très clairement besoin d'être formés davantage au vu du standing de l'établissement (ex: grosses difficultés à communiquer en anglais avec certains, cocktails différents que ceux que nous avions commandés apportés à deux reprises, assiettes débarrassées alors que nous sommes encore en train de manger etc.).

Nice hotel on an uncrowded beach
Nice hotel on a soft, sandy, uncrowded beach with gentle slope and waves for kids. Service was outstanding. Not the best pool design and cold, ahem, refreshing, but we didn't find a need to swim there with the beach so close. All rooms have a view of the sea. Breakfast was excellent as was dinner although expensive for the area. There isn't much within walking distance, with a couple of busier towns a short tuk tuk ride away.

Fantastic hotel on beautiful beach. Rooms were spacious, well decorated and clean. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The only fault was the lift broke down. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Amazing location
We got wonderful stay 6 nights at Shinagawa Beach. Amazing beach not to big hotel but nice suite about 50 sqm. Stuff always friendly and helpful but sometime forget order for service. Restaurant should have better meals but all in all wonderful stay. 4* to Shinagawa Beach. BTW. If you need driver go to next house there life Asela with family. He offer TUK TUK. Good price and very honest.

Beautiful location
The hotel is situated on a quiet beach. It is a beautiful and relaxing location with stunning views. The room is basic, but has gorgeous views out over the ocean. The blinds aren't exactly blackout which made my son's nap a bit of a challenge. They were also in poor condition and had holes in them, not expected or appreciated when paying such a high rate. We asked for a baby crib as we were traveling with our 1 year old. This was accommodated. It is a hotel more suited towards couples, however they do have a high chair in the restaurant which we were able to use every morning for breakfast. The breakfast was great with a wide selection of hot dishes and fruit, yoghurt, cereal etc. All the food we did try was delicious and well presented. We were slightly shocked one night when the restaurant offered to make chicken breast and mashed potato for my son, and charged us significantly more than what our adult meals were priced at for the small child's portion. The food/drinks are highly priced at the restaurant so if you plan on being at the hotel most of the time, its probably cheaper to do all inclusive. Also, book your taxi to the airport with a travel company, if you arrange through the hotel, its triple the price. Literally. That being said, the staff were great and accommodating. They paid a lot of attention to our 1 year old. Overall we had a lovely stay.

good value for money, small resort
Overall a good stay, great views from the balcony, right on the beach. Limited vegetarian options, expected more traditional Sri Lankan vegetarian options. If you are going to stay in the resort and eat at the restaurant than it can get a bit monotonous. Breakfast was great, no complaints. The room's DND sign only works if you leave the key in the room to activate the power, so probably want 2 keys for the room. Great resort for couples (every one else staying was also a couple). Not much to do in the area, apart from a village tour to see cinnamon production and visit the local turtle farm. The Spa was excellent, the masseuse did a great job relaxing us both to the point where we fell asleep. Overall, for the price it was a good stay. Would I stay here again? possibly, but if my budget allowed for it, would probably stay at the more well known resorts, they probably cost double what this place does, but i think food/restaurant options would be better.

Very high standard hotel
We stayed 3 nights and the hotel is of a very good standard. Service is great, especially the restaurant staff and chef. Directly backs on to the beach. The prices are higher than local restaurants as you would expect from this type of hotel, but the food was good enough to justify this. The only slight negative is that a handful of locals trying to get your custom hang around the beach so you will be approached immediately when walking on the beach, the hotel could have managed this better in the immediate vicinity of the hotel at least.

Amazing hotel: exceptional service and views
The hotel is a real getaway place - there is nothing actually near the hotel to spend time, but the hotel makes it all for you. The food was great, the pool was cool, all rooms faced the ocean, the service was exceptional. Cannot wish for more, will definitely come back!

Beautiful, modern hotel. Great beach. Quiet Zen.
The rooms, the surroundings, and the design itself is very nice. I was concerned about the pool being sort of indoors, but it works great as a retreat when it's too hot to be out in the sea. The vibe of the hotel is very chill and zen. Seemed to be mostly couples, honeymooners and older. Kind of atmosphere which kind of makes you feel like speaking in hushed tones. Overall it's a very relaxing effect, specially for people like myself who have a hard time chilling out and doing nothing. The Sri Lankan food was pretty good, but the western food was unsatisfactory. The dishes were sometimes inconsistent as I had a green curry that was great one night then terrible when ordered a couple of days later. Menu choices were lacking. During a 6 night stay, I often found myself going back and forth through the menu to find something that was appealing. The service was excellent. We were travelling with our 10 month old daughter and mostly ordered dinner to our room. The full menu was available at the same rate as the restaurant and would be brought up quite promptly with good presentation. The WiFi was terribly configured. They use a single SSID with two different passwords for the rooms and the common areas. This forces you to manually enter the password every time you move around. Can be fixed easily by them changing to two SSIDs, one for the rooms, and one for the commons. It was very frustrating.

Wunderbares Hotel direkt am kilometerlangen Strand
Das Hotel liegt direkt an einem sauberen, kilometerlangen Strand. Alle Zimmer haben vollen Meerblick. Das Personal ist sehr bemüht, den Gästen den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu machen. Manche Mitarbeiter sprechen nicht so sehr gut Englisch, aber das wird durch das immer spürbare Bemühen wett gemacht. Alle Kontakte zum Personal beim Einchecken, im Restaurant, beim Planen von Aktivitäten oder beim Bestellen von Mahlzeiten auf´s Zimmer waren sehr freundlich und angenehm. Wir hatten eine Suite in der obersten Etage gebucht, die doppelt so groß war wie die anderen Zimmer und einen großen Balkon mit großer runder Liege für 2 hatte und wir waren mit diesem Zimmer sehr zufrieden. Kleine Details wie z.B. eine Nespresso Kaffeemaschine im Zimmer, viele kostenlose Kinofilme auf Abruf und eine gläserne Balkonbrüstung, die einen herrlichen Blick auf die Bucht ermöglicht, haben uns sehr gut gefallen. Insgesamt hatten wir in jeder Hinsicht einen tollen Aufenthalt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen

A 3 day stay at the end of 5 days sightseeing could not have been more relaxing than was offered here. A small but beautifully maintained garden, plenty of sun chairs and 20 meters to the Indian ocean. The negative points of the hotel are, a beautiful looking pool is spoilt by been unheated, even in the heat of Sri Lanka this meant only short quick dips were possible. Also, there is only 1 restaurant and the food (we were on an all inclusive package) was superb tasting but so small portion sizes, certainly a plate to look at rather than to fill up on. The AI option is $100 a day BTW.

Great hotel with great view
Great hotel for the country standards even if we had pb with the shower (cold water, no warm water). Food is good but little pricy (no other options as the hotel is kind of isolated). Desserts are not the things they master! Sea view is really relaxing and nice.

When I booked this hotel for me and my husband via Expedia, I booked a double bed but by mistake I pressed " one adult", the next day I paid attention to that and hence contacted the hotel to correct the mistake. The hotel said "it doesn't matter because you already ordered a double bed." When we reached the hotel, they said they gave me a single room because I was one adult. They didn't admit that we called them. They said they will charge extra money for the double bed. Eventhough we already booked a double bed. We kind of had a fight, they didn't even offer us to go and rest while we save it later even though we were so tired. They made us oay extra money and they said they upgraded it to bed and breakfast. The breakfast has no variety at all. Do not order sushi there. The maki's contained only cucumber or only avocado. They do not use sushi rice but the regular rice.

Relaxing break
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were all so kind, respectful, very attentive and provided great service all the time. They ooze a positive attitude that is infectious. The room was kept spotless and the view from the balcony is fabulous. It is in the middle of nowhere with little to do in the local area, so day trips need to be taken if you're looking for activities and things to do.

Siamo arrivati a Balapitya alla fine di un tour all’interno dell’isola e l’hotel Shinagawa Beach non ha deluso le nostre aspettative offrendo una lunga spiaggia, praticamente deserta, con spettacolari tramonti ed un mare tra i più fruibili della zona. Le camere sono ampie e panoramiche e lo staff sempre disponibile, discreto e sorridente. Con meno di un’ora di taxi è possibile visitare la bella cittadina di Galle.

Stunning hotel with excellent staff
Superb hotel. Room was comfortable with large balcony overlooking the gorgeous beach view. Staff were so helpful and friendly.

un vrai paradis!!!
hotel merveilleux,design,propre,et calme sur une plage presque privee aux eaux claires et chaudes; service irreprochable,repas digne d un 5 etoiles avec une presentation a vous couper le souffle. Toutes les chambres donnent vue mer avec une vue....A tomber!!! bref pour nous ce fut un vrai sejour de detente et de bonheur.
