Bishops Tawton is a small village with its own very popular thatched pub within walking distance. It is less than 2 miles from Barnstaple town centre, North Devonâs regional capital and ancient river-port town at the lowest crossing point of the River Taw flowing into the Bristol Channel. At the lovely waterside village of Instow, 7 miles to the west, you can enjoy the quiet inlet with sand dunes and a sandy beach along with a selection of pubs, restaurants and an excellent delicatessen.
