âWe had an overnight stay here for a friend's birthday and really enjoyed our stay , It's not the Ritz as some previous reviewers seemed to expect,but it was clean ,the guy on the reception was friendly and helpful and we managed to use the outdoor swimming pool.An ideal location for what we needed ,â
âThe rooms were clean and well stocked you had everything you needed. The host was very friendly and the breakfast was lovely with lots of choices. My dog loved her sausage every morning.â
âNice apartment, ideal positioning, Illfracombe is very steep, but lovely walks to be had. Car parking is free after 6pm in the town also. We didnât use the facilities but pool looked a decent size.
Cushions on the bed were very hard. Could maybe do with a couple of soft ones in the wardrobe as a just incase. Lovely place overall. â
âAbsolutely great place to stay if you're in Ilfracombe. Backs onto the very pretty harbour area, really good value breakfast and the pub is friendly, great beers but not noisy at all.
Our room got a little warm and the mgt instantly upgraded us to a two-room suite opposite and the general service and friendliness of the team who manage the Royal Britannia would be a major reason for going back as well as the beautiful spots immediately around the hotel. Great job and thank you Royal Britannia...
âRoom was clean and bed was very comfortable. Itâs an old style building though- so you can hear people in the street or going up/down the corridor outside. Doesnât bother me- but would be disturbing for a light sleeper. However- Ilfracombe is a sleepy Devon town so there is no noise after pubs shut or before 6amâ
âThe booking on hotels.com stated that the property was pet friendly and dogs stay free. When the booking was confirmed, we were told that pets were ÂŁ35 per pet and not as advertised. Avoid if you have pets.â
