Lounging on the deck or in the screened porch, or relaxing next to a roaring fire in the outdoor firepit has been a favorite pastime for many guests.
This beautiful, fully stocked cabin is the perfect place to relax after a long day of hiking Houghton Falls, Lost Creek Falls, Meyers Beach, or shopping in nearby Bayfield or Cornucopia.

We had a great stay with our dog! It was so nice to be secluded in the woods but yet close to Bayfield. The cabin itself was exactly as described and in the pictures. It has everything you need to be comfortable and we were happily surprised to find little thoughtful things like small lights by the bed if you needed to get up during the night, and a lot of outdoor options to relax and play at the cabin. We loved hearing the bull frogs in the pond and spent a lot of time in the screened in porch. We will definitely try to book this again when we are next in the Bayfield area.

This sweet cabin was exceptional in terms of amenities, quiet, dog friendly, and cleanliness. We did a lot of hiking, returning "home" to a peaceful place. I was sad to leave!

This cute little cabin had everything we needed and more! Oven, fridge/freezer, grill for cooking. A little screened in porch to enjoy the outdoors without the bugs along with a fire pit for evening fun and a pond right outside the door that my dogs (especially my lab) loved! The location was great, just 10 miles from Bayfield and 1 mile from the closest Lakeshore view at Little Sand Bay. The host was friendly, attentive and ensured that the property was clean and well stocked for our stay.

The Copper Squirrel is a lovely log cabin in the woods by a beautiful pond in an exquisite setting. The owner, Kerstin, was superb in her communications and her responsiveness, particularly in resolving a double booking issue that was the fault of the booking service and not her. The cabin is lovingly cared for and decorated. There were many amenities including coffee and tea, spices for cooking, many pots and pans for baking, etc, firewood already split to length for a wood stove and an outdoor fire pit. Our favorite place was the screened porch facing the pond. We loved the art work and decor- largely squirrels and collectibles. This would have been an overall 5 for us except we rated the comfort as a 4 for three reasons, which are directly related to our being seniors with some agility issues: the table for two was very high with tall stools that were difficult for us to climb onto, the microwave was on top of a large refrigerator and involved climbing up and down on a step stool (which Kerstin kindly provided for us) with hot food and liquids, and lastly the very comfortable queen bed was tight against a wall on one side and had about a foot of clearance to the wall on its other side, making it very challenging to get in and out of the bed. These likely would not have been an issue if we were a decade younger. It was one of the most peaceful stays during our road trip around the Great Lakes, and clearly she was the most attentive owner of any of our 10 lodgings.

We loved this cabin! The cabin was cute and tidy. It was secluded and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the screened in porch and wood burning stove. It was wonderful to see and hear the wildlife. Would definitely want to stay here again!

This cabin is truely a getaway, it is very private and quiet. It is just a couple mintues drive from Sand Bay Beach with is a great swimming place. The cabin had everything we needed for the week, was very clean, and had its own trails in the back of the property that was great for a morning hike with our dog. The cabin offered indoor activites such as board games, books, and TV for when you want to relax inside and the 3 seasons porch was amazing to sit in the mornings and drink coffee. I would recommend this cabin to anyone and will stay there again when we are in the area.

The cabin was beautiful with a wonderful setting. It was fully furnished. The Wi-Fi worked great because in that area there was no reception, so that was great. We went in the month of June and the mosquitoes were terrible so be prepared. I would highly recommend the cooper squirrel cabin.

This was a perfect stay for my dog and I. I was up here for and completed the 2.1 mile Madeline Island swim. It was a great event. I loved that Kristin was very communicative and thought of every amenity. That was greatly appreciated! It is cozy, 2 people and a dog max for whoever is wondering, but I definitely plan to stay here again when I’m in the area next!

Stayed in summer which was beautiful, but reading comments in guest book, obvious a wonderful location in cooler times. Very cozy inside, with screened porch for outside sitting time. The cabin was perfect for us, the pond is charming and the screened in porch was perfect for enjoying it. The cabin is a good blend of feeling like you are in the woods but also close enough to Bayfield and the Apostle Islands to have some fun day trips!
