Barco
Loved the house and property! Pool area was very relaxing. Mattresses need updating. Close to Bologna, Modena and Parma. Very quiet, secure and peaceful location.

Superbe maison, au calme, dans une région magnifique
Magnifique maison de famille du 19ème siècle avec bcp de vert et dépendances. Le jardin est gigantesque et la piscine avec un pavillon formidable. Dans un village mais complètement au calme et proche de Parme (30 minutes du centre ville) et Reggio (train de banlieue direct ~15 min). Le rdc reste très frais (vécu en août). Communication facile avec la propriétaire. Nous recommandons chaudement

A very enjoyable visit
Let me start by saying that our hostess was very friendly, kind and very helpful and made our stay all the more enjoyable. The villa and the garden has allot of history and character which made it very pleasant to stay in. It is very specious, clean and cool even though it was very warm outside. Of course the pool help also with cooling down. The pool and garden is very well maintained even during our stay. The central location of the villa is ideal for exploring the surrounding areas like visiting parma ham and parmesan makers and the very good restaurants that clearly know create very delicious food, I would like to advise calling these location before visiting to make sure there is enough room. We found that very one was very hospitable and happy to have us visit. The Ferrari museums was also very fun to visit, which we did for our sons birthday. He was very happy with his present. Bologna centre is not far away, and we highly advise going there, especially on a Sunday morning. Beautiful buildings and streets, where we had the best ice-cream ever. Milan, Venice, Florence and Pisa are further away but defiantly dowable by car, as four of us with our some what large dog did in our electric car. All good things come to an end, but have allot of good memories and would love to revisit.

Spectacular estate.
We spent 6 days here, but wish it was a month. Beyond our dreams. An estate. Great connection with owner. We used the pool several times a day to manage the heat. Location for excursions to Bologna, Parma and Reggio Emilia.

Good location
The room were hot without circulation and mosquitoes were terrible. Couldn't leave the windows open. Beds were not up to date and pillows were awful. Otherwise location was good, close to the train a great restaurant, and a new Aldi store that was great. Grounds were sensational

Beyond beautiful
The park like grounds are the first thing that cause you to fall in love with this villa. The hosts are beyond gracious and made sure our visit was special. This was a central location to visit Parma, Bologna,Modena. We highly recommend.

Glorious
An incredible park like setting. Huge property with fruit trees and beautiful bushes and flowers. The pool area is lovely with a separate pool house with sofas and music. And the house!!!! Very very special! Also huge with updated bathrooms and many rooms in which to relax. Higlhy recommend this property!

Casa di campagna circondata da un meraviglioso parco con piscina
La vacanza è stata molto piacevole soprattutto per il parco che circonda la casa, enorme e con una bellissima piscina. I nostri due cani si sono veramente divertiti a correre e giocare e anche noi. Molto comoda poi la casetta in piscina per rilassarsi dopo il bagno e l'idromassaggio. All'interno è una casa di campagna molto vintage però non mancano i comfort. La signora Adelina e il signor Christian molto gentili e disponibili.

La vita è bella...
The first thing we said to Adelina - the very friendly hostess - is to do a little bit more marketing with other pictures: the big house is situated on a beautiful domain with a swimming pool which is big enough for the four of us. The Jacuzzi is located next to the pool. Our boys (and me) enjoyed the ping-pong table and there is plenty of room to play football (but it was too hot for this...). The neighborhood is very quite and you can use the house as a nice base to do some hiking or some long trips by car. It was a pleasure to stay over there and maybe we'll be back next year...

Italian odyssey!
Great location for everything the area has to offer. Adelina our host was fantastic, giving recommendations and bookings for restaurants, places to visit and organising tours. The pool and gardens are amazing and any little problems we had, were dealt with promptly. Only slight issue is the wi-fi, If you were lucky you could get very week signal in the entrance hall but nothing elsewhere. Thank you for everything we really enjoyed our stay with you!

Authentic and relaxing
The grounds are large, and have mature trees and hedges, it seems historic in the landscape as well as the house. It’s a bit rough for a semi handicap person to only have bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs, so just be sure this works for you.

Ein italienisches Haus mit unglaublichem Charme, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Grundstück mit dem Pool ist wunderbar und der Empfang und die Kommunikation haben sehr gut geklappt.

Superlative Stay in Bibbiano
Our stay in this villa was just superb. The property exceeded all our expectations.. Spacious grounds, well equipped in every sense, wonderful 2 century old house full of artistic touches. The house also served as our base to visit a Parmesan cheese factory, a prosciutto (Parma ham) factory, a Balsamico vinegar factory, the Ferrari museum near Modena, the city of Parma and Bologna. When back at the villa we could enjoy the pool, ping pong, playing cards and games etc. I highly recommend this villa to any visitor to region of Emilia-Romana.

Phenomenal house and grounds
We had an absolutely lovely experience in Barco. Staying here felt like living in an EM Forster movie as the house is enormous, filled with art, and from the 19th century in design and solid construction.The grounds are showstopping and expansive. Surrounding the mansion are separate large areas of the gated compound: a field for football, a large area with a lovely pool surrounded by shade-giving trees with a gazebo and relaxation house, an additional grass-filled courtyard by the house (with separate door to street), a lovely garden equipped with tables and chairs filled with huge old trees including a gorgeous (blooming) pomegranate tree. At night, the gardens are full of fireflies. The kitchen is well stocked enough to entertain at least 14 people. There are three bedrooms and two of the bedrooms are connected by a living room suite which makes it ideal for a family with younger children. It was easy to do laundry and run the dishwasher. The only caveats are that there is no air conditioning outside the two main bedrooms which makes it difficult for the kids in the kids' room to sleep (there are no window screens to keep out mosquitoes) and the house is a old, so opening/closing shutters/windows was a bit sticky.

Schwimmbad mit Garten und Haus
Das Schwimmbad und der Garten waren schön. Das Haus war voll mit Möbelstücken. Alles was nicht gebraucht wurde ist scheinbar in dieses Haus gesteckt worden.Weniger wäre mehr gewesen.Die Küche war zwar voll ausgestattet, jedoch war es schwer dort zu kochen, da zuwenig Arbeitsfläche vorhanden war. Diese war zugestellt. Adelina hat uns freundlich empfangen und hat uns alles erklärt.

lovely Italian home
My family stayed in this house while I was coaching a team competing in the Tricolore games in Reggio Emilia. I personally didn't stay here and my review is essentially feedback from my family. I did go to the property one day to have lunch with my family was amazed by the place. What a treat to stay in a home like this. It was like going back in time to a different era. The artwork and furniture is beautiful and you don't see construction like this anymore at least in the United States. The garden is gorgeous and the trees are absolutely amazing. It's a bit longer of a drive into Reggio Emilia than I thought, but once on property it's like you are in another time and place. It's perfect for families especially with children. My kids enjoyed the ping pong table, the table soccer and the pool. Italy is a irreplaceable destination on this planet and I recommend staying in this house if you are in the area.

Ein tolles Haus in fantastischem Garten
Hier mangelt es an gar nichts. Selbst einen Warmwaser-Zuber gibt es mit 36°. Der Garten ist riesig und wunderschön angelegt. Uralte Bäume. Verschlungener Kiesweg. Einfach königlich! Im Haus sind alte Bildbände zum schmökern, die Küche voll eingerichtet mit Gas!-Herd. Zahllose Sitz-Ecken, gedämpfte Beleuchtung. Große Schlafzimmer mit guten Betten.

bello il giardino e nient'altro
collocata in ottima posizione a metà strada tra reggio e parma dispone di un bellissimo giardino con piante secolari...a parte questo però la casa è vecchia e trasandata più che una casa di campagna sembra una casa abbandonata...letti scomodi umidità e crepe ovunque...ha bisogno di una seria ristrutturazione. basta togliere tutte le cianfrusaglie tappeti e tappetini per renderla quantomeno vivibile...

Hyggelig hus som gir godt inntrykk, rent og tiltalende, fantastisk hage. Store gode soverom, sjarmerende innredning. Bad og kjøkken har god funksjon. Vi var 6 voksne og huset fungerte bra for vårt bruk. Huset ligger litt utenfor sentrale strøk så ingen restauranter eller kaféer i gåavstand. Supermarked i nærheten der man får det meste. må ha bil. Reggio Emilia og Parma er hyggelige byer for god mat og gode restauranter. God kommunikasjon med eier.

A perfect Italian retreat!
What a beautiful place! We had a really great stay in this evocative and truly authentic Italian country house that once belonged to a famous local painter, whose artwork still adorns the walls and bedrooms. The kids loved the pool (and the tortoises!) and we felt completely relaxed and secluded. Don't come expecting a sanitised and perfect tourist environment. This is a real house that wears its history on its walls and halls and is all the better for it. Many amazing places are a reasonable drive away and the local cheeses, meats and wines are among the best in Italy. Thanks Adelina for letting us share a little bit of your family's history. We will remember Barco with great fondness!
