“The accommodations in the “Eagles Nest” were perfectly fine for our 2 night stay. If we go again we would try to get one of the cabins for a more secluded stay as they are a little bit away from the lodge vs staying in the lodges. Overall the property and room were very quiet, the owners were very nice and it was perfect for seeing the Black Bears in Orr, MN.”

“Tons of nostalgia here from my childhood, as my my grandparents had a similar sized farm and I had many fond memories there growing up. We stayed 3 nights and drove up to voyageur national park two days. Overall a great place for two families with young kids vacationing together. Only two considerations for other travelers from my perspective. First, while it easily slept 4 adults+6 kids. “The hotel was an older beautiful remodeled hotel. Very clean and nicely decorated. The staff was fantastic and friendly! The dining area and patio is very unique and quaint. “The lodge was filthy. Dishes and cookware were filthy. A few dish towels. The steps were all the same color and pattern, I fell into the landing. I hurt my left hip, leg and elbow. Bob was our contact person and he was helpful and accommodating. The property was a long way down a dirt road. There were no fish in the lake!”

“It had a nice welcoming area with the fireplace, the pool looks filthy there was dirt on our sheets and on our blanket, the pool so they could only have so many people in and the same people are allowed in all night so no one else was basically allowed to use the pool or hot tub area, I repeatedly asked for an invoice to be emailed to me and I had to call three times to get it.”

“surprisingly this lodge has been on elbow lake for a century. The location is fairly isolated and has good access to the lake. It is the type of place that beckons as a near wilderness experience. We will try to return in the future.”

“We spent a long weekend in the Whitepine room at the lodge and loved it! The view was incredible. The beach and the water are just about unmatched by any other lake I’ve been to. The water activities available were great for the kids. The family running the place is adorable and work super hard. One note would be that the restaurant is not open. We would definitely return!”

“The breakfast selection was incredible & had choices for everyone! I'll be booking again just for the breakfast! The service checking in was kind, welcoming and feiendly; despite the system used and lack in training, we had a pleasant experience. I absolutely loved the decor for halloween & the treats available :D Unfortunately, the hot tub was out of order, which was the original reason we booked this specific hotel. ”
