The apartment location was great. Right beside Fort St. Angelo, a short walk to the water ferry to Valletta. The apartment was well outfitted and Francis was very kind to have stocked the fridge with a few essentials., as we arrived late in the evening. If the weather is warmer you can a dip in the harbour a few feet from the official entrance to the Mansions.

Schöne Wohnung in exzellenter Lage
Wir haben uns in der großzügigen Wohnung sehr wohl gefühlt. Voll ausgestattet, wie Zuhause. Insbesondere die Lage und der Balkon mit wunderschöner Aussicht sind toll. Die Kommunikation und der Empfang waren sehr herzlich. Danke auch für Wein, Brot, Butter, Eier, Wasser und Pralinen beim Empfang!

Perfect Location to Explore
Great apartment with amazing views right next to Fort San Angelo. Underground onsite parking was a huge plus. Apartment was clean, bright and inviting. Great for family vacation. Close to the water taxi over to Valetta.

Schön, sauber und groß
Wir haben sehr genossen von einer vorzüglich ausgestatteten Wohnung ist optimaler Umgebung. Zum schwimmen nur einmal den Gehweg überqueren, herrlicher Blick vom Balkon über den Hafen und die Hafeneinfahrt. Zur anderen Seite sind es auch nur ein paar Schritte zu Restaurants und Cafés. Die Schlüsselübergabe vom Vermieter war total unkompliziert. Vielen Dank an die Vermieter das wir eine schöne Woche auf Malta genießen durften.

3 bed apartment great for a twin, single and double with 2 bathrooms. Superb position with Valetta view, balcony over the water where you can safely swim. Basement parking and security. We had such an amazing time and would love to go back!

Right on the Waterfront
Very spacious and bright 3-bedroom apartment overlooking the beautiful waterfront of Il-Karkara. Rising sun streamed in first thing in the morning and such a delight to walk down the corridor to see the wonderful view across the bay. Well appointed apartment, comfortable seating and views over the waterfront area so we could watch the enormous cruise boats coming and going through the harbor entrance into Valletta port. There was lots of other water traffic too, local colorful Maltese rowing boats and local ferry boats. PROS: huge amount of towels provided which was a big plus as towels did not dry very well with all the humidity. Large amount of crockery, glasses, dishes, cookware and bake ware. Secured covered parking was provided inside the St. Angelo building complex with 24/7 security. CONS: grocery stores are quite a distance away so you need to plan accordingly if you wish to cook. Lidl stores are located all around the island but not close by unfortunately. We had a car but driving around the tiny, crowded streets was a nightmare. We parked the car and took Uber into Valletta - water taxi to Valletta not working! Entrance to the parking garage very tight - do not hire a large car. Lift stopped working twice while we were there (6 nights) and we had to use the stairs up. Not the quietest place unfortunately as a local cafe/bar between the St. Angelo apartments and the fort blasts away booming music once the sun goes down. Quiet inside the apartment though.

Stay on the quick side of the bay and enjoy the amazing views
Francis met us out front and led us to the private parking spot in the garage underneath the apartment. He took us up the apartment's private elevator to a fantasic apartment. The view at night and day from the living area is wonderful. Many dining spots right outside. Or take the water taxis, 3 minute walk over to Valletta for 2 euros. Stay here.

Tolle Lage, 5 Minuten zum Wassertaxi, 10 Minuten zur Fähre nach Valletta. Schöne Altstadt von Vittoriosa in 5 Minuten mit kleinen Läden und Restaurants. Hafenblick und direkter Zugang zum Wasser. ALLES PERFEKT.

Wonderful Apartment
Spacious, well-equipped apartment in wonderful location. Connie and her father were a pleasure to communicate with and kindly stocked the apartment with some basic foods and water for our arrival. Birgu is a lovely area and easy to take the ferry to Valletta. Great view of the harbor and the Kalkara marina. Plenty of things to see and do in the area and lots of restaurants nearby. Couldn’t ask for a better apartment or location.

Great location
A great location, away from noisy streets but walking distance to town and short walk around the bay to catch the ferry to Valletta. A very large house great for families. With a large master and ensuite and two rooms with single beds in. Picture perfect views and perfect spot for a swim out the front for the adults. A must walk us through the streets behind the church they are so beautiful.

We loved the view and locality of the property and the attentiveness of our hosts but were disappointed by the bed linen and soft furnishings - this could be improved by replacement of sheets and towels and some of the beds especially the room with two singles -the apartment in need of a freshen up and update

Just perfect
Our short stay in the apartment was just perfect - it's very homely, comfortable and well equipped, and the view was just stunning. Connie was very helpful getting in touch and answering questions, and it was good to meet Francis and have him show us everything (the best attention to detail we have ever had!). Using the underground car park was easy and getting around the area very straightforward. Dipping into the harbour in front of the apartment was so refreshing after a day wandering around Valletta & Birgu - the water lovely even in October. Definitely will be recommending this apartment to others!

Apartment on the Water
The apartment was very large and had everything we needed including a large kitchen, sitting area and dining table. The bedrooms were neat and comfortable with plenty of dresser and cupboard space. Steps away from the apartment we were able to swim in a sectioned area where the water was lovely, note the water is deep, accessible by ladder, no beach. Our host also provided some tea, milk sugar, ham cheese, butter and bread. We had a wonderful stay. There are several cafes, restaurants, and gelato bars near by. Be sure to go up the hill to visit a several more restaurants. Also try the little boats from the arch to Valletta, much more fun than the ferry! And the three harbours boat tour is also very good.

Special View and Privacy
This super pleasant apartment has floor to ceiling, wall to wall view of the bay from the living area with balconies that directly overlook. the water. The front door is reached by a pedestrian only stone walkway that is immediately next to the water and very private. There is absolutely no sense of being cooped up or enclosed by surrounding buildings. The listing cannot convey how charming and pleasant this place is! I highly recommend it. The ferry and buses are within easy walking distance and Birgu is a charming area with good restaurants. Many fewer tourists on this side of the bay and I recommend it over Valletta. Bolt works really well for transportation here and I recommend it. Warning! If you want real coffee in the morning without going out to a cafe, you need to bring a can of coffee, the grocery shops only have instant.

Serenity Overlooking the Sea
We don’t usually book places in this price range but in this case it was absolutely worth it! Birgu is quieter and in my view, more charming and sophisticated than other areas of Malta that are more popular with tourists. Lucia’s home let’s you experience the charms of Birgu first hand. First of all, it provides you with unobstructed views of the sea from two sets of sliding glass doors so you can enjoy it from the main living area or by going outside to the terrace equipped with a small table and two chairs. The kitchen is larger and better equipped than those we’ve seen in our travels in Europe. Lucia provided some milk, luncheon meat, butter and bread to get us started and there was coffee, tea and basic condiments available as well. The bedrooms are light and airy and the bed in the master very comfortable. There is a rain shower head in the master bathroom and a second bathroom gives you a tub/shower as another option. The entire space is tastefully appointed and spotlessly clean. Lucia’s father, Francis, was thoughtful and gracious. What a lovely gentleman! The weather was rainy and windy while we were there so having this beautiful space with amazing views to stay in saved our experience of Malta. At every opportunity we ventured out into the community for walks or to grab a bite to eat. The restaurants in the area are quite good and the streets quiet enough to allow lovely strolls through the quaint and charming neighborhoods. There are many spots that offer lovely views of Malta and buses and ferries (not available to us because of rough seas) you can take to go to other locations such as Valletta (beautiful but busy) or St. Paul’s Bay. Enjoy the fascinating history of Malta and stay at Lucia’s, you will be glad you did!

Perfect week
Connie’s flat is bright, spacious, private and quiet, all features quite hard to find in the capital. It was well and generously equipped with everything we needed, including a welcome pack, and spotlessly clean. Check-in and departure were very easy - warm thanks to Francis. Car parking is a great bonus, with Eugene the excellent porter, and regular security checks. And most of all the spectacular views from the balcony. We were fortunate to coincide with Independence Day, and had a grandstand view of the fireworks in the harbour. A terrific visit. No question we’d like to come back!

Fabulous Apartment and location, amazing hosts
A real review would take me a VERY long time. Suffice to say that in our nearly 20 years of travel with VRBO, Connie’s apartment (with her super sweet dad Francis) ranks in the top 5 or fewer of the complete package of amenities, location, cleanliness, hospitality. Did I mention location? After 10 days exploring Malta’s various options I’d unhesitatingly recommend Birgu as your base for exploring Malta and Connie’s fantastic apartment . Very comfortable and great location!
Francis and Connie were wonderful hosts! They showed us around the apartment and made sure that we had all the information about Malta that we needed. They left us with a few things in the Refrigerator which made it nice before we could find a grocery store. Our kids enjoyed swimming out from. Great location for us to see all we wanted to see. I would definitely recommend this place!!🤗

Excellent waterfront apartment
We enjoyed all aspects of our stay at this lovely apartment, from our welcome meeting with the owners father to our taxi departure arranged by the on site security officer. The views from the lounge are wonderful and the apartment is excellent in every aspect. The online apartment details and photographs accurately describe and reflect the accommodation. Email contact with the owner Connie was invaluable in giving information and advise prior to arrival. The location of the apartment in Birgu is very good with the local square 10 minutes walk away housing a few convenience stores, eateries and a bus stop for an easy 30 minute drive into Valetta. There are also a few excellent restaurants adjacent to the marina within easy walking distance. We have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending this lovely apartment to anyone looking for quality accommodation in a quiet and beautiful location.

Call Birgu home!
Perfect place to stay if avoiding hotels. This is an apartment right on the water in town of Birgu. Surrounded with history , a lovely place to stay without having to get on the bus. A little hike to the bus stops . Besides historic points, grocers, bakery, butchers are all within walking distance. A lovely place to call “ home” for a month. Since we are here for a month-long visit, maid service was provided and Francis was always as near as the phone. Would definitely stay here again.

October Stay
Great apartment with fantastic panoramic views over the harbour. Nice and peaceful with a very well equipped kitchen. Excellent communication from Connie and her dad who met us at the airport to show the way in the hire car. Short level walk to the ferry for Valetta which runs every half an hour until quite late in the evening. Note that the price of the ferry ticket includes the cost of the barrakka lift up to the city centre. Lovely city with so much history you don't want to miss it. No large supermarket in walking distance but not a problem with a hire car. Parking space allocated under apartment block and lift up to apartment. Nearest Lidl about 20 mins by car due to traffic. There is a local corner shop. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance expect to pay 10-15 euro for a main course. Meal for 4 with drinks allow at least 70+ euro. Steps outside the apartment for swimming in the harbour. Water looked clean enough but I don't like to swim in yacht harbours personally. Washing machine but no tumble dryer. There is an airer and pegs. We really liked Malta and had a great holiday despite quite a bit of rain which generally cleared in the afternoon. Hoping to return.

Wonderful place to stay in Malta !
We had a very pleasant stay in Connie’s flat. The apartment near Valletta is very well located to visit the island. The view is magic and the neighbourhood very suite. Connie’s parent picked us up at the airport which was very helpful considering that we flew at night and that we haven’t driven on the left side of the road for years ! The apartment looks exactly like the on the pictures. So we spent a very good stay in Malta.

Wow, wow, wow!
AMAZING, that's the only word that sums up Connie's flat! We loved our week there...meeting Francis(delightful man) at the airport & following him to the apartment, the apt itself was spacious & so comfortable but its all about those views, they are magical & cannot be described in words! Delicious restaurants on your doorstep & the area of Birgu was fascinating, a great choice. Agree with other reviews that the shower in the main bathroom is probably more of a hand held & not high enough but the pressure was brilliant & our friends let my husband & I use the wonderful shower in the ensuite when we needed to! Thank you so much Connie, you were a joy to deal with from start to finish. We would all have no hesitation in recommending this apartment if you are visiting Malta; do it you wont regret booking I promise! We were sad to leave & if Malta wasn't so far from New Zealand, would be back in a heartbeat! :-)

Our Malta vacation
The property was exactly as shown the pictures. Very clean. We were a family of 3 adults and 2 very young children. We were worried that the children would be able to go out side on the balcony by opening the sliding doors but they were very heavy and the children could not open them at all. I loved eating breakfast on the balcony and watching the morning swimmers There were toys in the children's bedroom cabinet which they enjoyed playing with since they were"new toys". Life vests worked well and we did swim right out side our apartment. The floaties were good to have, even for the grownups. We appreciated the food left in the refridgerator for us. We never cooked except to boil eggs so we do not know how the oven worked. The electric water pot, worked very well to make tea. Since we did not drive in Malta, it was important that we could get to Valletta and to other places. The little ferry to get to Valletta was near by and very handy (in good weather) The larger ferry was further away. There is a children's playground not far from the flat. My daughter-in-law took the kids to the beach in Kalkara. It is too bad that they do not keep it a little bit cleaner. The grocery store was a bit of a walk in Kalkara across the street from the playground. There was a pastizzi shop there as well. I even found a reasonably priced hair dresser and nail shop in Birgu town square. The children's science museum was great and we could walk to it. We didn't try taking a bus from Birgu so I cannot comment on transportation from Birgu. We had a wonderful time and I would definitely recommend this property.

Also, there is a lot to do for all in the immediate surroundings. Indeed, the larger ferry is somewhat further but still within walking distance to the apartment. Both the larger ferry as well as the little boats are a spectacular and a very efficient way of getting to Valletta. We hope to see you back!

Ruim en goed uitgerust appartement. Interessante ligging en een schitterend uitzicht.
Een ruim appartement met alle nodige voorzieningen. Noodzakelijke airco is in alle kamers aanwezig. Een geweldig uitzicht op land en water, heel rustgevende omgeving. Goedkope ferry naar Valletta (+ gratis toegang tot lift naar de 'upper gardens') of watertaxi op wandelafstand. Rechtstreekse buslijn naar Valletta eveneens in de onmiddellijke nabijheid. Enig mogelijke nadeel van de rustige ligging: het appartement is volledig uitgerust om zelf te koken, maar het aanbod van voedingsmiddelen in de buurt is beperkt. In een 'Convenience Shop' op een kleine km afstand, te vergelijken met een nachtwinkel bij ons, kan je basisproducten vinden, maar op een beperkt aanbod fruit na zijn er geen verse produkten (groenten, vlees, aardappelen, ...) te vinden. Wel een voldoende aanbod aan (vooverpakte) charcuterie en kaas. Anderzijds is dit perfect op te vangen door de zeer betaalbare eetgelegenheden. Voor westerlingen die gewoon zijn rechts te rijden en het stuur links te hebben, lijkt het ons niet aangeraden om zelf met de auto rond te rijden. Openbaar vervoer werkt prima, ook al moet je voldoende tijd voorzien in verhouding tot de beperkte afstanden.

We were very happy with our accommodation. The apartment was perfect to come back too after busy days exploring Malta's attractions. Birgu is a great area to wander around and soak up the 'local' atmosphere. We have no hesitation in recommending the apartment, particularly for two couples.

Apartment owner was always quick to answer any queries prior to our stay which was reassuring. Apartment had a fantastic view as on Marina and was very clean and spacious. Would recommend the whole process to anyone.

Francis est vraiment adorable, il vous accueillera a l'arrivée même a l'aéroport s'il le faut. Tous vous sera expliqué, l'appartement , les alentours,les restaurants. ets L'appartement est simplement fabuleux, près de tout, vue splendide, un interieur complets, même avec une chambre pour enfants avec des jouets. Everything went to plan. We were met by Francis & Margaret as arranged. They were lovely and welcoming, very informative about the apartment and surrounding area. Gave us lots of tips and advice on where to visit. The apartment is in a beautiful location, with wonderful views across the bay, and we hope to return soon.
