“We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. The area is beautiful but with only one night, we didn’t get the change to do much exploring. Next time. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay.”

“Some of the furniture in the room was slightly old fashioned but it was very clean and tidy and suited us perfectly as a family of 3. We were provided with tea and coffee making products and there was cutlery and a table and chairs to eat in the room, if necessary. The breakfast was nice and the host was friendly and kind. We would stay here again ☺️”

“Too many notes telling you not to scratch things. It was nothing like as described on website. Spoon holding the window fastener, other windows held together with duck tape. . Felt damp in there so needed heat. Bedding wasn’t Egyptian cotton, bottom sheet was pea green. Tap just dribbled water out of wash basin. Lane and track down to property was terrible, full of holes. We didn’t stay for breakfast or to sleep there.”

“Ockenden manor was beautiful and staff very accommodating and friendly. We were also upgraded at check in which was a nice surprise. The room was beautifully designed, and bathroom and bedding were clean, although we did find two pieces of rubbish left behind by a previous guest in the room. Hotel guests can access the spa at no additional cost from 2pm on day of check in to 2pm on day of check out and the spa facilities were beautiful. Good vegan and veggie options at breakfast. “Cosy and in the centre of the village, with a lovely setting. The pub downstairs is aswell cosy. You dont hear any sound from the pub. Maybe the churchbell Will waken you, but we find it charming. Will come back here sometime.”

“Trevligt boende som vi är nöjda med. Personalen var lite förvirrade men trevliga. Lite otydligt att man skulle checka in på puben men det löste sig. Stor gratisparkering utanför. Trevligt & fräscht rum. Hårfönen kanske hade sett bättre dagar ;) men vi är som sagt nöjda & kan rekommendera. Bra frukost som ingår. ”
