Although it is now under new management, it's clear that the lovely, friendly, warm welcoming atmosphere is something the staff are keen to retain. “A private home from the 16th century with a very welcoming host and hostess. Marketed as "luxury B&B", and that's an apt description. The drawback is that it's located between villages, so any dinner requires a drive (and therefore no beer or wine). Personally, I'd had a big lunch and a tiring drive through the Yorkshire Dales, so I skipped dinner.”

“If you would like to experience living in a 400 year old cottage, with many original features, surrounded by so much beauty and peacefulness, then this is the place for you! I cannot recommend it enough. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by hens and cats. We were then shown to our ‘living area’, bathroom and upstairs - a double bed and bunk beds. “We had a fantastic stay at the Victoria. The family who owns this hotel are very helpful and nice. The location is excellen in Malhamdale with easy acess to hiking trails. Wonderful nature just out of the door. The hotel has a pub so no need to leave the village in the evening although Malham is only a 20 min walk away. We will stay here again! ”

“Just enjoyed an excellent 2 night stay at The Royal. Booked on recommendations from friends. Set right in the middle of KL, so fantastic location. No carpark, but we had no trouble parking as the general car parks to the front and rear of the hotel and ampld places to park overnight around the hotel. We did have to be mindful of moving the car throughout the day, due to timecrestrictions on car parks and our visit was off peak in January. Not sure how easy parking would be throughout the rest of...
