âIt is a nice place to stay if you are in the area on a business trip (in my case the company I visited was within <10 min walking distance). The area is quiet and far from disturbing traffic and other noise.
The hotel supplied all the services required for my stay.
There is also a gym located in the same building.
In general the impression is good. However, one night the fire alarm started (false alarms) repetadly during a period of almost one hour.â
âWe stayed for 2 nights , room comfortable, large bed, bit of noise from main pub extract fans. Food excellent, plenty of parking. Staff friendly and efficient. Will come again.â
âSpent two nights as a couple with a small dog. Totally relaxing break on the banks of the River Trent. Stayed in one of the adjacent cottages (no 14). Excellent. Only niggles were that although the bathroom had been recently refurbished, the extractor fan was not working and there was nowhere to hang a towel. Bathroom had the best shower I have ever used. Talk about a whoosh!
We ate both nights in the restaurant. It had a limited menu, but the food was good. Food and drinks reasonably priced....

Friendly and helpful staff and our room was clean and cosy.
Breakfast was okay, but would've like to have seen a selection of mini cakes/biscuits and fresh fruits to the selection, just to give more of a variety and also some fresh juice in addition to the cordial, tea and coffee on offer.
However an enjoyable and pleasant stay and would love to return. â

âLovely place, very clean and everything you could need. Breakfast smelt fantastic but I had to leave urgently and couldnât taste it. Will be staying here again. â

Food was excellent, very generous portions. Gluten free catered for very well.
Unfortunately the shower in room 33 constantly dripped.
Other than that great 1 night stay after a long day at Twycross Zoo.

âStaff were very nice and helpful. I stayed for 9days and can not fault them. Whenever I need something you only need to ask. Very helpful and excellent service from kitchen to front desk and the cleaner who helped open my door as I had so many stuff on hand. Itâs a shame I didnât get all their names.
