Helt ok hotell nära piren. Varmt när det är 30 grader ute. Trevlig personal och ok frukost. Ligger vid ett mindre grönområde som lockar till sig många människor på kvällen.

Fel gradering av hotellet. Inte 4 stjärnor
När man bokar eAllttt 4-stjärnigt hotel, har man förväntningar på en viss nivå. Allt från entré till reception till rum, toalett, inredning, dörrar, frukostrum vittnar om ett 2,5 stjärniga hotel. Dörrar gnisslade, golv knarrade, jag blev också inlåst på toaletten utan att ha låst dörren. Gick inte att öppna varken inifrån eller utifrån. Gammal osmord låsmekanism var orsaken. Efter ett par minuters mekande gick det att komma ut. Jag har bott på 3-stjärniga hotel med högre standard. Personalen var mycket trevlig och serviceminded. Parkering en mardröm. fick köra omkring i centrum ca 40minuter innan jag hittade parkering, turligt nog på gatan som hotellet ligger på. Priset 1450:- ett klart överpris. Om det hade varit 4-stjärnig nivå hade det varit Ok. Hotel.com borde återbetala en skälig mellanskillnad motsvarande kostnaden för 2,5 stjärnor i området. Det är trots allt ni som marknadsför hotellet.

Riktigt bra Bed and Breakfast för att vara Storbritannien, förtjäna sina 4 *. Relativt bra läge (10 min promenad till centrum) Bra service minded personal. Rena och fräscha rum med bekvämma sängar. Bra badrum. God Engelsk frukost

Inte 4 stjärnigt. Bra centralt men väldigt nergånget. Trevlig personal, rummet var stort men högst upp i huset utan hiss. Inte riktigt värt pengarna i slutändan. Stannade 7 nätter.

We are a 4 Star Gold awarded by the AA and we do have regular inspections to ensure that we are offering excellent levels of quality throughout and outstanding levels of hospitality and service. As our building is Georgian we do not have the possibility of having a lift and as such we do not advertise the property as including lift. We do try our best to make our customers stay memorable, and if any problem is reported to us on our 24h manager line we will always be able to resolve the matter within minutes.

Fint rum och fantastisk frukost. Servicen var jättebra. Det enda negativa var att det var lite kallt i rummet ibland.

Ligger nära och bra till alla sevärdigheter och till stranden.Men ett hotell jag inte skulle klassa som 4 * utan som 2* frukosten var katastroff lite och snålt

Ett riktigt höjdarhotell!
Mysigt och trevligt familjehotell perfekt beläget i Brighton. Nära till stranden, Piren och City! Vi hade två mycket fräscha dubbelrum med sjöutsikt! Familjär och trevlig stämning när man checkar in. Traditionell Engelsk frukost som smakade utmärkt! Hit kommer vi att återvända!

Shabby chic with the best hotel staff in Brighton
Clean accommodation with attentive, smiling staff. Comfortable bed with crisp bedding and plush towels. Robe and luxury toiletries a nice touch. Paint finishing and the decor could have been done better and doors need a little tweaking so they don't slam and wake people up in the middle of the night. Otherwise, a well run place and you could do a lot worse elsewhere for the price.

When we arrived the male staff was very rude and condescending. He shouted at me repeating wait, wait, wait through a locked door telling me I was at the wrong door. No signage to explain this. He then ignored me and walked off until I rang the bell. He then shouted at me to wait again until he reluctantly let me in. I was then told that I couldn't park outside in the street at the discounted voucher price and had to pay full parking charge unless I parked in a permit bay in a different street. I'd just spent half hour looking for a parking space. I explained I had emailed the hotel twice regarding parking etc but never received a reply. It was my wifes birthday and was hoping they could do something special for her in the room. The room was okay but cold and needed some tlc. Burns on the carpet, cracked wall paper and the shower tray was blocked and overflowed. No towels in the room when we arrived although this was rectified. One small bottle of water between us for a 3 night stay. We also watched a crackhead from our window lighting up early morning taking his drugs and causing a disturbance. The rest of the staff were nice and the breakfast was okay. No fresh orange juice just orange cordial. Apple juice was watered down too. It wasn't an unpleasant stay but we expected a lot more for the money we paid. Not much information on the website either.

The parking vouchers we sell are for the permit holders bay around the hotel and unfortunately the spaces outside are pay on display. I did try to offer the best & cheapest options for you to park and again it seems that I failed I am sorry.I am pleased to see that my colleagues did look after you and that your stay wasn't unpleasant.Over all I am sorry we did not meet your expectation.We will try to do better as we always do.Regards Herve

Always a fab stay here
It's always a pleasure to stay with New Steine, even as a solo single room traveller. My latest trip was to the "infamous" room 206. The room IS small, but hardly surprising considering the excellent price. Whoever came up with the idea of the in-room shower unit (I think this is new since my last stay in that particular room) hats off! Advertised as shared bathroom, should read shared toilet.

The heating was not working we hot 2 small electric heaters for the big room it was just barable. The shower was electric and super slow impossible to wash my long hair, the sinks hot water was just dripping impossible to wash ha ds when opening cold water the sink was fliiding as couldn't drain well. The floor in shower was tilted and showerdoor was leaking so ut went all to the bedroom we had 2 towels on the floor to preven this from happening. And the toilet was next to bew with folding doors giving absolutely zero privacy for anyone to use the toilet.

Hotel was conveniently situated for the pier, shops, restaurants etc. Staff were friendly The room was well appointed but the wooden blinds were damaged, one curtain dropped down from the rail as hooks missing. Bathroom bin lid fell off so we fixed it and we fixed the bathroom light. Breakfast was a little disappointing. Fruit on one day only, cooked breakfast served lukewarm on cold plates. Good quality ingredients but could have been served hotter on warm plates. Plenty of refills of hot drinks and toast.

Reasonably good value for Brighton. Very small single room with bathroom across the corridor, perfect as a crash pad. Downside room hot and bed not the best but better than a lot of other places overall and very clean

Für ein Nacht ist das Hotel ok.
Wir hatten das Hotel als zwischenstop gewählt. Leider das Badezimmer ist VIEL ZU KLEIN, man hat kaum Platz drin. Sonst ist das Hotel gut gelegen.

Disappointed
In general, the room was nice, but I wouldn’t say it was worth £180 for one night. The bathroom was poorly designed whenever you had a shower it leaked and got underneath the laminate flooring you had to squeeze past the toilet which had the towel rail opposite to get to the sink. There was exposed pipe work and wiring in the bathroom and generally the fact that it was in the basement made it feel like an after thought! Although yes, it was five minute walk to the seafront it was quite expensive for a room only basis. Honestly, I have stayed in better hostels than this hotel!

Good stay but basement room needs some updating
Three of us stayed in a triple room over a bank holiday weekend. New Steine has a great location, staff and breakfast. While the property was clean, we had a room in the basement that was damp and had likely experienced some water damage. It was in need of new flooring and paint, at a minimum. While it was nice that they had a triple room, we'd likely request a room on the main (if they have any) or on an upper floor in the future.

Lovely stay, the room needs some attention. Broken window blinds in the room, couldn’t close the middle window blind therefore couldn’t get changed in the room as people could see inside from the outside. Otherwise a decent distance from the pier and attractions
