2nd time enjoying this beauty!
We enjoyed our beautiful nature stay. Deer out front crossing the river. Bald eagles all up and down the river. We spent 2 days on the river from the dam to the bridge just past the house. the river was a little low this time but still a doable trip. we will defiantly be back. we all love this place.

Good alternative
It was a good stay overall. We were in the area to visit our daughter for family weekend at Purdue. We only stayed here as an alternative because there were no hotels near the Purdue campus available. The inside was clean. A little outdated and unfinished in spots, but the seclusion and view was nice. It was about 30 minutes from West Lafayette campus, but not bad. Overall it met our needs and we enjoyed our stay with no issues.

This place is such a find. The river is shallow and easily accessible for fishing or wading. House is spacious and has everything you would need, including board games. No tv is a nice break for our kids and I loved the quiet! Also something to note...there are ZERO mosquitos!!! We brought bug spray and literally never used it! We will surely be back!

Fabulous cabin getaway
The tippecanoe is so much fun for kids and adults to play in. We spent hours playing with the rocks, we even saw a soft shelled turtle on the water! The cabin is very comfortable, clean a relaxing. If I’m ever in this area again I would not hesitate to come back here! Beautiful place!

Great getaway!
It was great to spend some time outside and around this home! Having no tv was preferred and wehad some good quality time together. Property manager was easily accessible and great with accommodating our needs. Would love to visit again!

Beautiful Views
We had a great time! The house has a really gorgeous view— especially with all the windows. Our kids loved heading across to the island for a nature stomp. I loved hanging out on the patio reading. My husband fished and kayaked. There was something for everyone. Delphi has a near pioneer village and Lafayette has a little zoo and water parks. Plenty do at the house or beyond.

Relaxing River Paradise
The Large, airy house is clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The best part? A beautiful view of the Tippecanoe River flowing by a couple of small islands. This is our 3rd or 4th stay and we’re planning for next year already.

Relaxing and Quiet
The property is out of view of the road and neighbors were quiet. It may not be a good place for small children. Lots of steps with living quarters a high height from ground. It was great for a restful, quiet time for adults. The view of the river going by is spectacular.

Delightfully quirky home with stunning river view!
The delightful setting on the river is maximized by floor-to ceiling sliding door windows on two of the living room walls. We loved watching the birds on the river. Geese, ducks, herons and eagles were all seen. A quick, scenic drive took us to the campus of Purdue University where we attended my son’s graduation. The quiet neighborhood was great for a walk, and the people were all friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

Nice location
While this property has a beautiful location thats about all that can be said about it. It has a beautiful view. The amenities listed are useless. Fireplace was broken. Fire pit had no wood available. We asked before going and were told by vrbo who asked owner if wood was available. Response was there was wood in the garage. Four pieces. Lighting is aweful. Furniture is dated badly. When we arrived we spent an hour cleaning cobwebs off if everything outside before you we could sit on anything. It got cool a couple nights and when you turn in heat the main bedroom becomes dantes inferno. There was dirt and sick and game pieces from previous guests under the couch. Then before we were an hour away the owner contacted us to tell us we damaged his concrete and were being charged an additional fees. We damaged nothing. He refuses to send pictures. Be weary of this property

I’ve never experienced guests like these, and hope to never again. They denied committing damage, until they apologized and paid the damage deposit. If you are reading this, please not break wood on my concrete slab. You can break wood on the solid ground. I tell all my guests to contact me directly with any questions you have. I told these guests where to get firewood, and answered all their questions once they contacted me directly. They committed long lasting damage to my property.

Quiet weekend getaway

The view!!
This was a beautiful property! The view was perfect! The home was very clean and had everything we needed. Some of the furniture could use some upgrading but there is plenty of it to seat everyone. There were no bugs making enjoying the porch even better. It's a lovely place.

Beautiful house
Perfect house. Nicely decorated,clean and comfortable. The views-to say it is beautifull it doesnt describe it! Even the pictures do not show it fully ,its just wow! The river sounds right out the balcony -so relaxing! Kitchen had everything you needed to coock meals,big dining table for family dinners and games.lots of games in the cabinet to choose from! Nice books to!Beds were comfortable . My family loved this house and the location so much ,we will be definately comming back and staying longer next time! Words can not describe how peacefull it is there . Thank you for sharing this house with us !

A bit disappointing
There is a beautiful view of the river and nature. Grounds are well kept. Needs some attention on the outside of house. Furniture is very dated inside and out, the water pressure is quite low. We are In our 60’s so not used to no television either especially for a 2 week Stay.

Incredible place to get away
My family rented the property for a week. We wanted to get away from the city, have a beautiful view of nature and be able to swim without worrying about covid. This place was wonderful. Great views all around! Patrick was a great host and offered great suggestions about tubing in the area. Thank you! This was a memorable vacation.

Escape to Green
Had a really nice, relaxing time just spending time in the cabin, taking in the sights of the river area. took some nature walks at the state park about 20minutes out. Friends and myself just grilled and, chichatted and sat by the fire most of the time.

Peaceful place to relax and commune with nature
Fantastic views of the river from almost every room of the house. Easy access to the water for wading and floating. Bird watching was fantastic and the grounds are landscaped beautifully. We were immersed in nature - very beautiful and peaceful.

Quiet scenic location
Well designed layout with great views of the river. Lots of work went into rehabbing this home. Adding a second bathroom, and some decent lighting in the dining room would make it even better. We are looking forward to a return trip in the spring!

had a nice time
this property was great for what we wanted - a secluded place to stay in the woods near water! we got to easily tube (with the property owner's tubes) down the river from our backyard, drive 20 min to a pontoon we rented on lake schafer, grill and cook and play games with some good friends and our 4 dogs! the building could be cleaned/upgraded to feel more like you're on a 'vacation,' but if u you want a place to stay while you enjoy the outside, tubing, the lake, the property's garden, etc., this is a great spot to stay. overall this was a positive and fun experience!

If you're looking for a quiet getaway along the river, this is the place. We had a great relaxing stay. BTW - The wifi is excellent (for those who might need to sneak in a few work emails!). No TV was a great change of pace.

Peaceful Riverside Getaway
Patrick's river house was a lovely and much needed escape. It is right on the river, which makes for some wonderful wildlife viewing (there's an awesome blue heron that occupies a tree right across the river), easy access for canoeing or tubing, and the feeling of really being in nature. We enjoyed opening the sliding doors and leaving the screens shut in the evening so we could listen to the river trickling while the sun went down. We also did a fun and relaxing float down the river, from a super easy access point at the house. Patrick was very responsive and extremely helpful with any questions about the area and house. Definitely recommend staying here!

River Rest doesn’t disappoint!

River Rest is so peaceful!
We had a wonderful stay at River Rest! The scenery was spectacular, very quiet and private. It was loaded with wildlife, and NO mosquitoes!! The fishing was good. Nice getaway
It was nice to get away and have a relaxing couple of days watching the river flow by. We enjoyed our stay... had many laughs and even caught a few fish! Missed not having the hammock and twin beds shown in the pictures, but we made do. Plenty of space and our dog likes it too!

Home is great, clean and plenty of room. Location is amazing, spent the afternoon tethered on the river. My family enjoyed the camping experience without giving up amenities of air conditioning, kitchen, great bedrooms and bathroom.

Tranquil & Relaxing - right on the river!
We found the perfect place for relaxation. This beautifully landscaped house provided most of the entire back side of the house with glass sliding doors. The other portion with a portion was a large screened room. We had all our meals at the table in the screened room. It was fun to sit and watch the activity on the river during our meals or relaxing in the living room. The kitchen had everything we needed. Underneath the house was perfect for the rainy days. We fished of the bank, floated in the water current, and walked out to the shallow middle of the river. Hodges canoe rental was really close by for our kayak trip.

Memorial Weekend Vacation
We greatly enjoyed are stay at RiverRest. We kayaked and fished the river each day. The house was clean and comfortable. Plenty of pots, pans, utensils, flatware and dishes were available to cook meals. Quiet, beautiful location. We will definitely be back!

Very nice stay!
We enjoyed a long weekend at this place, and it was great, even though it rained during all weekend, the views from the house of the river and the setup of the porch made us enjoy the weekend even though the bad weather, the house was clean and had all the kitchen utensils we needed, also had great internet service, very much impressed with that.

Tranquility
It might be out there, but I cannot imagine a better location on the Tippecanoe. We enjoyed some exhilarating fly fishing in the waters just beyond the banks of this property. The screened in porch was a great space for playing games, enjoying breakfast and a favorite napping location for all at one point or another during the trip. The rooms were clean and very spacious. The big windows made for spectacular views and a feeling of literally being on the water at all times. I would love to come back to this location. An amazing (I would say rare) getaway in the Midwest.

Beautiful & relaxing!
This was probably one of our favorite vacations! The house and setting are beautiful & it was so relaxing to be able to hear the water from the river throughout the house. The views from the house are amazing - pictures don’t do it justice - and even the rainy days were enjoyable as we could play games & puzzles on the screened in porch and still feel like we were enjoying the outdoors. We spent a week here and never missed watching TV as there was plenty to do and it was nice to unplug - I had brought iPads just in case since there was WiFi but never used them and the kids never even asked for them. Our 2 year old and 6 year old had a great time playing in the water - we had brought a raft that had a bottom and they loved floating down and then having us pull them back up to go again! We brought water shoes as well which I recommend as it is rocky so sandals would be harder to walk in. Our lab also had fun and could have spent all day outside in the water & exploring the “islands” in front of the house. We did a canoe trip one day that took us right by the house and did a day trip to walk around Purdue’s campus but otherwise spent each day at the house. The house was well stocked with kitchen supplies, bath towels and even beach towels so I didn’t need to bring a lot of the “extra” stuff I had packed based on other rental houses we had gone to in the past. The charcoal grill was great to use for dinners and we had campfires several nights down by the water. Overall, it was a wonderful vacation and we look forward to coming back again sometime!

beautiful and scenic
Loved this place. Watched the animals... deer crossing the river... two eagles soaring... the geese flew in every morning. The river is so peaceful. The big windows and the huge screen porch. Perfect for our getaway. Brookston is a cute little town with plenty of good places to eat. And West Lafayette is right down the road. I was shocked to find this beautiful place in the middle of corn and soybean country. Very pleased.

The house is very unique. Collective design and style. Comfortable layout on the river. We found it was delightful to tube down the calm river waters. I would consider to go back again. Price was a bit high.
