The Space:
Situated on a 7-hectare private equestrian estate, Lescure is a beautiful 6-bedroom country house ideal for family vacations in a peaceful, private setting in the Charente countryside.
As well as a relaxing indoor swimming pool, there are plenty of outdoor sitting and dining areas, perfect for enjoying the peace and tranquility of the immediate surrounding countryside. The pool is open (depending on the weather and outdoor temperature), from May to early or mid-October (please ask when booking if you are within this period).
You can sit back and watch the horses go for a walk, or even enjoy the pétanque court by the lake. Nestled in a huge, partially enclosed garden, the property is surrounded by riding horses in their paddocks and beautiful countryside, ideal for long summer walks.
The house includes a large, well-equipped kitchen with breakfast area and contains all the modern equipment you'd expect, such as fridge, freezer, dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and Delonghi coffee machine with milk frother. You'll also find other small appliances such as a Cookeo machine, a waffle maker, a juice extractor and an oil-free / air fryer.
The kitchen opens onto another spacious dining room with a comfortable reading area, ideal for relaxing with your vacation reading while admiring the stunning views over the gardens and paddock.
The living room is large and spacious with a large, characterful fireplace and flat-screen TV, perfect for cosy family evenings. There is also a bar area to complete the ideal setting for family gatherings or entertaining friends.
There are two good-sized bathrooms, one with a double basin, toilet and shower and the second with a full bath, large basin and shower cubicle with hydro massage.
On the first floor, you'll find a lovely, bright and spacious bedroom with king-size bed and views over the pool terrace, garden and paddocks. There are three further double bedrooms, a double room with an extra single bed and a large cot, and a final bedroom with a view on each side.
The Vallier pond with its clubhouse is a 2-minute drive or 15-minute walk away. The local village of Brossac is 5 minutes away, and the small towns of Chalais and the larger Barbezieux are only 15 minutes' drive in opposite directions.
Further afield, about an hour's drive, you'll find the cultural attractions of Cognac or St Emilion, or visit the beautiful cities of Angoulême or Bordeaux. Late arrivals and departures are possible at extra cost.
Tablecloths, tea towels and bath mats are provided.
Bed and bath linen is not included in the price, as some of our guests generally like to save on this cost. However, we do offer an optional complete bed linen and towels kit at a cost of 270€ttc per stay. This can be ordered and paid for after booking.
A compulsory “intermediate cleaning” package is invoiced at the time of booking and corresponds to the disinfection and preparation of the house between two tenants. The house must not be left dirty when the tenants leave. We ask our tenants to leave the house as they found it on their arrival (kitchen and bathroom clean, fridge and cupboards emptied, no visible traces of dirt, dustbins removed, etc.).
For tenants who don't want to think about cleaning before they leave, we also offer a “complete cleaning” package at a cost of €25/hour. For this accommodation, this package costs an additional €100.
