Truly an exceptional place! Haven in the Woods is pure serenity nestled in nature, yet rich in comfort.Every detail felt intentional, from the cozy decor to the peaceful surroundings. Jane was an amazing host very kind and accommodating. We will definitely be back.

Haven in the Woods is Fun!
We stayed at Haven in the Woods because family lives close by. The children were delighted by all the little touches and the home was very clean and comfortable. There is so much to do on the property that we didn't get to do it all!

Amazing Family Get Away
The hosts were amazing! We had everything we needed and more. Nice home and the extras made it a home away from home. Lot's of outdoors for the kiddos to run and play. We even went sasquatch hunting with the kids (lots of woods for hiking).

Wonderful
This property is exceptional. Wooded with many trails, filled with wildlife. The house is clean and roomy, with a furnished porch and firepit with wood. The attention to detail is incredible. Would certainly stay here again.

Our Second Visit!
This is the most fun, relaxing place our family has ever stayed. Everything we needed, and the little extras, too! We did a scavenger/Easter egg hunt for the Kiddos. I'm not sure who had more fun, the kids or the adults! There were so many fun hiding places on the property.

Amazing vacation!! Jane is awesome!!
The Haven in the Woods is truly a haven! Jane puts so many personal touches into her setup. It was fun to uncover them all! The kitchen was well stocked and is big enough for a family who likes to cook together. The rest of the house was perfect for family time sitting and reading or doing needlework. The porch was lovely and the fire pit was all ready to go. We walked a lot, fished, rowed the boat, met the wonderful people at Waltrip’s Corner, and walked some more. We visited Vandalia, Effingham, and Altamont and learned a whole lot about living in Fayette County. BTW, the corn is ‘made’ for this year. Today’s rain probably ‘made’ the soybeans! Jane’s property is diverse and interesting. The dogs had a great time! Lots of creatures, smells, puddles, and paths. I think our dog will have dreams of his wonderful time at Haven in the Woods.

Perfect getaway
What a amazing place to stay. The grandkids had the time of their life and the owner is simply the best. We have done nothing but talk about how much we want to go back and stay again. The fishing was so peaceful and nice and the home had everything you needed and then some. The little restaurant down the lane was so good and had just the friendliest people there that ran it. It was such a great time and we will definitely be back there soon.
