Our place is in the village of Brownville Junction, originally founded as Henderson for families working on the railroad. “The Junction” is just about the geographic center of Maine and is in the Maine Highlands. Piscataquis County is the least populated county in the state and affords bountiful access to nature in many forms. Since the area is lightly populated with lush forests, sky gazing is a treat on clear nights.
There is a high probability of spotting a moose in this area.
To this day, the railroad continues to be an important part of the community and is host to the Canadian Pacific Railway. The town is also a hub for several ITS trails, some of which go on for miles and miles. Our place is just feet away from the trails and can accommodate up to three trucks and trailers in the driveway. There are hundreds of miles of ATV and snowmobile trails here. Our town allows the riding of ATV’s and snowmobiles in a respectful manner on the roads, so you can access our trails. An in-town gas station is open Monday through Friday to get fuel.
When you need to relax, you will find our place very comfortable and stocked with what you need to cook. There are books and games, DVDs and Roku to keep you entertained. In the backyard is a fire ring next to the little creek, with firewood provided.
