Try it
Finally a hotel that focuses on the right things. 1) Friendly helpful service in the lobby the whole stay. And not just for us. We saw other guests being treated the same. 2) A hotel room with everything in it clean and working. No broken knobs, no malfunctioning showers, safes or lightbulbs, no cracks in the bathroom tiles and so on. 3) A restaurant with nice atmosphere, music on the conversation volume level, good food and a waiter that acts well even just before closing time. The hotel is well located, a couple of minutes by bus from center. For guests who want the above I recommend the hotel.

Hotel Charles på 800 tecken
Ett trivsamt hotell lite off centrum, men bekvämt gångavstånd till det mesta. Å andra sidan år det inte dyrt att åka taxi heller. Personalen är helt underbar, hjälpsamma och talar bra engelska. Bokning av taxi till flyget förbetalar du på hotellet, inga överraskningar när du kommer fram. Bussbiljetter kan du också köpa i receptionen. En bonus är restaurangen i hotellet, riktigt god mat till humana priser. En varning bara, Wienerschnitzel i Ungern är inte vad vi är vana vid! En enorm köttbit (nåja) utbankad till millimetertjocklek. Det blir inte speciellt saftigt, men har fått liknande nere i centrum, så ingen skugga över restaurangen för den! Bekväma sängar, rymliga rum, lite äldre standard på porslinet i badrummet mendet är helt ok. Plus för badkar, skönt att krypa ner efter en dag på stan.

Trevligt hotel med serviceminded personal !
Trevlig personal. Mycket bra frukost. Rum mot gatan medförde då och då att man stördes av tåg. Ganska dålig luftkonditionering. Likväl skulle vi välja detta trevliga hotel vid nytt besök.

Great staff, outdated hotel
First of all the hotel is located in Buda and it is quite far away from the old town in Budapest. As the bad location wasn't enough the hotel is also in need of a general renovation as the furniture in the room are old and in a bad shape. The hotel has a restaurant which makes it easy to serve the dinner or enjoy a cup of afternoon coffee. The staff is very polite and ready to help you. The free parking in front of the hotel is also a big plus.

The downtoun area can be reached within 5-8 minutes by the bus – only 3 bus stops. The Castle Hill area is in 15 minutes walking distance. Vi har bott på många olika hotell i Budapest men vi anser att detta var det bästa. Personalen var mycket tillmötesgående och hjälpsamma, Vi hade valt en studio och det var ett mycket stort, bra och välutrustat rum . Frukosten var bra med bra och vänlig personal. Hotellets läge i Buda upplevde vi inte som något negativt. Vi besökte hotellets restaurang en kväll. Det var däremot en stor besvikelse med en som vi upplevde det en ganska snorkig och ointresserad personal. Det motsvarade inte alls den vänlighet och omtanke som vi i övrigt mötte på hotellet.

Trafikerat läge men rummet vi fick var mycket bra. och tyst. Hade ett litet kök med begränsad utrustning, lagom att göra frukostmat i. Två mataffärer i närheten. En ca 100 m bort mot centrum med bra öppettider. En lite längre bort åt samma håll men på andra sidan gatan. Tror den hade öppet dygnet runt. Nära till buss. Vill man gå till stan tar det ca 25 min utefter stora vägen, alternativt kan man gå "bakvägen" runt hörnet ner mot stan och slottet. Eller gå tvärs över gatan och in i Gellert-parken. Passa på och titta på skulpturen "Filosoferna" och en till som symboliserar gamla och nya budapest (en man och kvinna på var sin sida floden) en bit upp och gå sedan upp till Citadellet, fantastisk utsikt. Promenera ner genom parken åt andra sidan så hamnar du vid Hotell Gellert. Här finns en liten fin kyrka insprängd i berget nästan nere vid vägen. 25 m runt hörnet från hotell Charles finns en liten japansk restaurang. Annars har hotellet en bra restaurang som hade öppet till 24. Personalen är mycket hjälpsam.

Rekommenderas starkt
Enastående service till ett lågt pris. Både personalen i restaurangen och hotellet var väldigt måna om gästerna. Gick alltid att få hjälp och vid ett tillfälle skällde en av hotellvärdarna ut vår taxichaufför, då vi gick in för att växla och han skulle tydligen ta överpris för resan.

Easy to get around the city by public communications free for EU-citizens above 65. Magnificent sites on the Buda side overlooking Pest and the Danube. Don't miss the romantic village of Szentendre ! Bra skyddad parkering bakom hotellet. Kommunikationerna till city är bra men det är inte gör låmgt med en promenad dit ned. Frukosten och restauragen är bra. Vi kan väl rekomendera hotellet

Vi fick tipset till detta hotel från personal på det hotellet vi hade bokat i Wien genom er. Dom sa att det ser gammalt och slitet ut från utsidan men insidan är bra och det stämnde. Bra pris och inte långt ner till centrum.

Nice hotel, very much worth the price. Seviceminded staff, englishspeaking. Clean and very spacy room. A breakfest with everything I needed to get a good start. The hotel is situated on a very busy street so I recommend a room facing the backside. Bus stops just outside the entrance, if you are tired, but it is walking distance to the city center. Bustickets, and most other services, available at the reception.

You cannot ask for a more professional service and the restaurant is also great. The downside is the constant noise coming from the cars. Our room was tidy and spacious, but the bathroom would need a renovation, it was quite out-of-date plus a funny smell coming from the sewers.

Pleased with hotel Charles
We got a room towards the big road, but did upgrade it to a room to the back yard- much quieter! The staff was so helpful and service minded, and the room was really clean. Bus 112 and 8 went just outside the hotel, and it went often to the Pest side of Budapest. A great way to travel easy is to buy a Budapest card- you just show it in the metro or at the bus. The breakfast at Charles was very good as well. Over all it was a very pleasant stay at Charles!

Bra läge, men beställ rum med AC
Mysigt hotell med jättetrevlig personal, med promenadavstånd in till Vaci utca, och fem minuter med buss. Fick dock rum utan AC och det var hiskeligt varmt på sjätte våningen. Fick även rökrum trots vi beställt icke-rökrum. Men överlag ett prisvärt hotell med god service och bra läge! Jag rekommenderar det.

Good, Not a 3- star
It was a good hotel. But Air-conditioner is definitely necessary for a room, if you are travelling during June-July. Without an air-conditioner the room is so stuffy and couldn't breathe at all! Breakfast was very good. Staffs are friendly. Just in front of thehotel is the bus stop and there are frequent buses going to the 'pest' side of the city. Walking would take like 25 to 30 mins to the other side and don't prefer walking during late nights!

Ca 5 minuter gångväg från Donau/Centrum låg detta trevliga hotell. Fräscht, billigt och trevlig personal. En positiv överraskning var att vi fick ett pentry på rummet. Minus: Trafikerad gata utanför

Fint hotell i gammal stil
Hotellets inredning var omodern, men allt fungerade och det var rent och fint. Personalen var trevlig och hjälpsam. En stor väg går precis utanför vilket gör att det är ganska mycket oljud på rummen på dagen. Tog cirka 20 minuter att gå in till stan, gick också buss precis utanför som var nästan gratis. Buss till tågstationen keleti gick också ofta.

Väldigt hjälpsamma på hotellet. God restaurang. Fräscht hotell. Ligger lite utan för centrum men tar bara 20 min att gå eller 5 min med taxi, vi tog taxi snålar aldrig på mina resor tar aldrig buss eller tåg, man ska ha det gott ju !
