Clean, very nice room. On a busy roundabout so can be noisy with traffic. Bar menu not up to date - 2 drinks they didn’t have on offer. Very good breakfast

The hotel is well-situated at the top of the town. Food service is good and the rooms clean. However, my room was very small, it became very hot at night and my sleep interrupted by an intermittent, loud boiler system. I left more tired than I arrived !

Absolutely beautiful, will be back!
Amazing stay for new year. Room was beautifully decorated and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent (proper coffee!) and we had dinner in the dining room on New Year's Day and the food and cocktails were really incredible. Will absolutely stay again.

Excellent location for a Cotswolds Christmas trip. The staff was so attentive - Sarah took very good care of us our entire stay. The food was delicious - breakfast (inclusive of our stay) had massive variety with fresh ingredients. Dinner in the restaurant was also very delicious. We were very pleased with our rooms (Windrush and room 11) -- everything was exactly as we had hoped. Thank you!

Don’t stay here
Specially asked when checking in for a quiet room away from the road. Was given a room right next to the main road and was kept up all night by the car noise and also zero heating. Absolutely freezing. There was no WiFi or coffee in the room either. It was very dusty on the room with thick dust over the kettle. A great shame as the previous stay back in February this year was exceptional. The place has clearly gone down hill. Don’t stay here

December 2023 stay.
This place has gone downhill a bit since it was the Cotswolds Gateway. 22.02 on a Sunday night and was told as a resident that we could not order a drink at the bar. Also as a Silver member on Hotels.Com we qualified for a free beverage each during our stay. When I enquired at the check on desk was told that the two small bottles of water which were in the room were our free drinks. Not really happy with this answer as all rooms had water placed in them as a matter of course. Cotswolds Gateway was great, stayed about five times. Newly rebranded Prince of Burford however is not as good

Very convenient for meeting friends in the Cotswolds and Burford is lovely. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food was great. Car park was busy. Rooms are a bit small but only used for sleeping, appreciated the milk.

Loved the character and ambiance of the place, very comfortable bed, delicious food and lovely staff especially the guy with the beard and the girl from South Africa in the bar. Will be back !!

Dinner and the service was very good. Our room was very stuffy and loud bring at the front of the property. Breakfast was a shambles and took over an hour to be provided to us despite there only being a handful of other tables. Rather disappointing experience

Food was excellent if you didn’t have to wait too long. Dinner on first evening took 40 minutes to arrive & looked as if it had been re-heated. The room was poorly lit, there were no drawers to store clothing, no shelving in the shower room and no safe for valuables. The curtains were hanging all over the place & the bedside table lights were covered in dust. The shower was very good but we had the same towels for 4 days. Milk was not supplied without asking & on one occasion it had gone off.

Prince of Burford is a really nice pub. Decor is really nicely done. Restaurant evening meal: had to wait 55 mins for our main meal, wasnt busy at all. No apology for taken so long. No cutelry provided or empty glasses taken away. Staff are nice but I feel would really benefit from some more coaching or some more experienced staff on shift. Simple things such as making sure people have cutelry and not walking pass tables empty handed and not picking up plates/ glasses Room: really nice style and decor. We were facing main road but the noise wasnt too bad with windows shut. Mattress was not comfy and pillows could have been better. Nice touches of biscotti, pillow spray and toiletries provided were really nice. Breakfast: really lovely, staff on breakfast could not have been more helpful and were so lovely. Food was really nice.

Great location, super friendly staff (Jessica) and a wonderful restaurant menu. Lovely atmosphere and lots of parking. We would like to have had a non-slip back mat in the shower to avoid slipping and the stairs - reflective of the age of the property are quite steep with a low banister rail so we would book a 1st floor room in the future. But a super place to stay.

Clean and staff friendly. Could do with an anti slip mat in the bath/shower as it can be difficult with no grab handles. Food was very good and overall the place has a very pleasant ambience.

Great Cotswold location
Very helpful staff at this well appointed Hotel. lovely room (we had the Windrush) and great breakfast. If we could change anything it would be to add air conditioning. This would allow us to have kept the window closed at night as road noise is significant.

Very quaint room. Lots of different bar and restaurant areas inside and out. Perfect for summer but also very cosy inside with a log fire and atmospheric candle like lighting.

Lovely position to explore Cotswolds and pleasant stroll down the hill to Burford. Room very pleasant, only downside was we couldn't open window as road noisy. Pleasant staff, great breakfast. We had a very good evening meal although service was rather slow (appeared short staffed).

Our courtyard room was small, dark and cluttered with plants, books and knick-knacks. there was no wardrobe. We were given milk in a flask but no fridge to put it in. The serving staff were overworked trying to serve meals and drinks.

The Hotel was disappointing in respect of the readiness of the bedroom on arrival for occupation, owing to a bad smell in the bathroom; we were moved to another bedroom, which was fine. The staff were very helpful and pleasant; the breakfast was excellent.

On the edge - of the cotswolds
A lovely place to stay right in the heart of the pretty town of Burford on the edge of the Cotswolds. A nice character room with modern facilities. Only let down was a long wait for service at breakfast - they explained it was a bank holiday and the food deliveries were late !

It’s a lovely hotel/pub/restaurant.
It’s a lovely hotel/pub/restaurant. The breakfast was spot on. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ideal location and parking, sometimes staying in Burford parking is limited but they had a car park with sufficient spaces meaning you can park at the hotel and not worry about your car being far away or in time limited spaces on the main road. The room we stayed in was nice and decorated well and had an amazing shower. The only down side was the bed and pillows weren’t very comfy so me and my partner didn’t have a great sleep and woke up tired in the morning. Also we could hear every step from the room next door due to very squeaky floor boards. The cocktails were a little pricey at £9.50 a cocktail but I think they do have a cocktail deal on but it finishes at 7pm which we unfortunately just missed. If the mattress and bed sizes were to change we would definitely stay here again.
