“We stayed overnight at The Gateway Inn for a nearby family function and it was absolutely lovely - we wish we could have stayed longer and definitely intend to come back. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the rooms and bar/restaurant are all comfortably and beautifully finished. “A private home from the 16th century with a very welcoming host and hostess. Marketed as "luxury B&B", and that's an apt description. The drawback is that it's located between villages, so any dinner requires a drive (and therefore no beer or wine). Personally, I'd had a big lunch and a tiring drive through the Yorkshire Dales, so I skipped dinner.”

“Love this place! Lovely, welcoming real fires in winter. Cool outdoor area for brighter days. Spent a great couple of hours in the beer garden. Rooms clean and well kitted out. Breakfast brilliant!”

“I did not get to stay at the OVO, I booked the wrong date (my error), but having paid Expedia for insurance that would alow me to make changes to the booking, the venue wanted to charge a handling fee that was 100% of the room cost. seeing that it would have cost me the full room cost on top of whatever the actual day would cost me I decided not to cancel and to book elsewhere.”

“What a terrific spot! The bar was comfy, and cosy; the room clean, and tastefully decorated with a comfy bed, and wonderful view of the viaduct and Whernside. And, the fish & chips - exceptional! For us, the staff made our stay, Will, Courtney, Angela, & Val, couldn't do enough for us, despite a very busy bank holiday weekend. Thank you, we had a great evening and a cracking breakfast to boot.”
