My partner and some friends of ours had a lovely time relaxing by the lake during our stay. Only complaint was that the pool heater was broken but that didn't stop us from having a great time in the water!

Jose was a really communicative host and replaced a coffee grinder via Instacart when we discovered the existing one was missing a part.There were some minor issues with the HVAC and cleanliness that he addressed promptly via email upon our exit.

Wonderful place - can't wait to revisit!

We had a memorable time here. The host was top class and super available and accommodating! There were some things that hadn't been cleaned, yet upon reaching out, the host was auper responsive and sent his cleaning crew to immediately rectify the situation. The place itself is gorgeous and as advertised, beautifully situated by the water. We had a family of 11 and we are already discussing 'when' to return. :)

Spacious and clean!

We loved our stay at Old Mallard. It was clean, spacious and mostly as described. The pool area, although closed, looked a bit messy. The main floor bedrooms were great and the kids loved the bunk room. The dining area was plenty big for 10 of us! There were not any games as listed in the site, but lots of books. The basement and bathrooms need a little work and the basement twin room is rustic. None of this really impacted our stay. Would be nicer with some fixes but we still say the house and hosts are a 5!

Great Location

We stayed for a weekend with cousins and family. Typically, I would host and decided it would be nice to get away. The house has great open space for gathering. Lakefront with a dock that has benches. Comfortable accommodations and the house is fully stocked with everything you need in the kitchen.

Perfect!

We loved everything about this place. Perfect space for getting a large family together. Beautiful great room and game room. We were so grateful for all of the resources and toys for our almost 2 year old (pack n play, high chair, baby gate, etc.) Jose was an excellent host, available and helpful with any questions. Some perks: -20 minutes to Shawnee. -Indoor fireplace, outdoor fire pit, & gorgeous lakefront property. Special shoutout for Jose’s honesty for calling us so quickly when we left something very important behind! Hope we can come back!

50th Anniversary get a way

Beautiful property on the lake with an amazing pool, We came for my parents 50th wedding anniversary with 6 adults, 5 kids (ages 10-16), We enjoyed fishing off the deck, swimming in the lake and pool and kayaking. We used the grill to cook and fire pit for s’mores, We want to go back again!

Nice place for a getaway

The house was really cute with great lake views and plenty of room for our group of 12. They did a great job on what appeared to be somewhat recent renovations and the decor was on point. We enjoyed the warmth and ambiance of the fireplace and the kids LOVED the s'more station. Jose was super communicative and easy to reach. We booked this location largely for the use of the community indoor pool, but it closed way earlier than they noted online and they were closed altogether the next day so it was a bummer we weren't able to access it at all. Otherwise a lovely stay and would recommend.

Fabulous Getaway at Old Mallard

We had a wonderful stay at Old Mallard. The home was well appointed and spacious enough for our family. The owners, Jennifer and Jose, are pros. They sent us a trip guide in advance of our stay with information about local activities and restaurants, and they supplied sheets, towels, toiletries, and other amenities for use during our visit. The views were spectacular. We had a great time boating in the lake and swimming under the stars in the private heated pool. Jose and Jennifer sent us reminders during the week (e.g. when trash day approached) and we appreciated the fact that they thought of everything so we didn't have to! Their extra touches were icing on the cake of a fantastic getaway, and we would rent from them again for sure!
