The B&B is on a busy country road just outside of Bushmills. It’s too far to walk into the town and the road is unlit at night. Road noise is a problem in the bedroom if you like to sleep with the window open.
The room we had was small and clean with a comfortable bed. The ensuite had a very nice power shower but there were long black hairs on the floor. There was nowhere to hang clothing as the small wardrobe was occcupied with a spare quilt and blanket. It would have been nice to have a suitcase stand in the room.
The free WiFi advertised only works in the guest lounge. I’ve seen this complaint in other reviews going back a number of years. The guest lounge had tea and coffee making facilities and TV.
The breakfast is great if you don’t like sausages, mushrooms, black or white pudding, hash browns or beans because none of them are available in the advertised full breakfast which was only served between 7am and 9am.
The choice for full cooked breakfast is limited to scrambled eggs with or without bacon which was too salty to eat. Half a small grilled tomato was also available along with a selection of cold toast. There was fresh fruit salad, yoghurt and cereal on offer.
Reception from the owner was a little cool when we arrived, showing no interest when I said we had a long journey. However they warmed to us when we were leaving and found out we were paying in cash.
Overall, our stay at the property was not an experience I would want to repeat.
