“As soon as you pull in you are greeted by a beautiful willow tree. The property is just amazing, from the trout stream to the house. Oh my, the house, it is picturesque, it should be featured in a magazine. It is the cleanest vacation rental house we have stayed in. A big plus, just a short drive to Watauga lake. The host, Gary, is super friendly. We can’t wait to come back!”

“Our family of five had an excellent time at Matthews overlook. The house was fresh and new looking inside. Everything was clean and well maintained. The host was great to work with. We would definitely stay here again if we headed back to Watauga lake.”

“Cabin was nice , the ac was ice cold . Lake was a short walk. Swimming beach is 10 minutes down the road. My wife and daughter misplaced some swimsuits, the owner messaged me and made them available for me, I would definitely recommend. ”

“We loved the Bass Bungalow! This place is a gem. Clean, cozy and the views are awesome! Such a peaceful, quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed sitting on the porch soaking in the beautiful mountains and Lake Watauga. Our dog enjoyed swimming and had easy access to enter the lake. It was a perfect getaway for us. ”

“This place was perfect for a long guy’s weekend getaway! The setting is every bit as beautiful as the pictures show. We rented a pontoon boat from Fish Springs Marina, about a 20 minute boat ride from the house. We enjoyed paddling the cove and one of the boys caught a 4 pound largemouth! The kitchen was very well appointed for cooking. The fire pit was a highlight as the sun set and the covered porch with propane fire was a perfect alternative on a night of scattered showers. "Awful in every possible way. Never, ever again. Even if a place is worn down it can be clean, this room was not. Wonder of the sheets had been cleaned between guests. Gap between door and wall. Felt like one of those places in horror movies where only one person comes out alive. But cudos to the photografer who managed to make it look decent. "
