Delightful!
A fabulous B and B in a beautiful village. David offered endless trays of tea and shortbread , a restaurant standard breakfast and is a mine of information! Our mattress was a dream and our sleep was blissful - we even had visits from resident kitty Maude!

We loved every minute. Very welcoming and we felt at ease straight away! Breakfast was excellent, especially the starter which was a new thing for us but we are now making our own. Tea was on offer whenever you liked and also had a great selection from earl grey to fruit teas. Would definitely stop again if we plan on going to the area again. Once again thank you!

Love this place!
What a fantastic little B&B this is. So far away from your standard accommodation. The rooms are furnished in a fascinating eclectic style with lots of interesting little touches and spotlessly clean. As for David, the host, we couldnt ask for better service. Very attentive and always on hand to provide fresh tea or coffee, brought to our room whenever we liked. But never intrusive. The breakfast was excellent. All local produce and the English breakfast cooked fresh any way we liked. We will definitely return. Excellent value for money.

The place to stay in Hartington
Wow. We had a lovely weekend staying at Parsons B&B. We had the ‘Grey’ room which was downstairs. The decor is quirky and in keeping with the old house. The bathroom had a lovely deep bath. I think the other room which is upstairs has a shower. Our bed was comfy and the room was lovely and warm. As soon as we arrived we were offered a fresh tea or coffee. No kettle in the room but David, the host was always on hand to make you up a cafetière of coffee. There was a lounge room where you had breakfast The breakfast was so delicious. You can have a starter of cereal, homemade porridge which was the best porridge I’ve ever had. The breakfast trifle was also delicious. Next you got a cooked breakfast using local produce. It was all lovely. The B&B is opposite the farm shop which has a cafe and there’s some great walks from there. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Thankyou for this lovely review. We are so lucky with the quality of the local produce in Hartington which obviously contributes substantially towards the breakfasts. The reason I bring trays whenever guests want them is I loathe U.H.T milk !

Nice quaint room, comfy bed.
David the owner was extremely attentive, nothing was too much trouble, we were offered endless cups of tea and coffee & we had an excellent choice for breakfast, the only downside, there no TV in the bedroom & as our stay was in February, there's not much for a pensioners to do in the evenings.

Thank you for this review. We are undecided about TVs in the room as half are guests might use them, the other half compliment us for not having them. You would think that if you don't want it, don't put it on. Alas it is not as simple as that.

Weekend break
Amazing weekend break in the Peak District. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much for our hosts, David was very attentive & knowledgable. Tea & coffee when we needed, breakfast included from local sourced produce. The place was extremely comfortable, clean & we loved the quirkiness of the property, will definitely be back. We loved our stay at Parson's House. The whole place had a really interesting, individual vibe and the decor was such a refreshing change from the corporate styling of hotel chains. The breakfast was outstanding, and we really appreciated the local produce. David is an excellent host, always very happy to make a cafetiere of (excellent) coffee at any time, but also sensitive to the privacy of guests. The location of Hartington was delightful, surprisingly well served with very good pubs and a range of local shops. We enjoyed the Dovedale walk of around 3 miles through beautiful countryside and along really good paths. Totally recommend a stay there.. we'll be going back!

Great stay
A Friendly and attentive host, who was on hand at all times. Excellent breakfast, beautifully presented at a time of your own choosing, early morning tea tray and hot drinks provided whenever required. The bedroom was comfortable and warm and the dining area could be used to relax and pick up wifi. Hartington is a lovely village with 2 pubs that serve food, good cheese shop, couple of stores and a great centre for visits to surrounding area.

Thank you for the lovely review. Hartington is one of the 2 Conservation Villages in the National Park which is why it is so well served. All the produce is locally sourced and really is a contributing factor to the quality of the breakfasts this reviewer refers to. Pretty, quirky and full of character
We had a wonderful few nights at parsons, Dave camt do enough for you and gies about his job with a smile and plenty of funny stories. The breakfast is all locally sorced fresh produce and i could not fault it. You wont leave hungry. No wifi in the bedrooms but decent enough signal in the lounge, no tvs in rooms, so bring a book. Id definitely return.

Perfect stay in Hartington
Our host David was the friendliest host possible who provides such wonderful service. We were in Hartington for the weekend, visiting family, and he was the perfect host for us. Providing tea and coffee on tap, and cooking a wonderful breakfast. There is no phone reception, Wi-Fi or TV in the double room, and for us, that was absolutely perfect.

Lovely Parsons House
Parsons House is a lovely place to stay and ideally located. David, the host makes you extremely welcome and nothing is too much trouble, he will make you up a tray of tea/coffee whenever you want with shortbread biscuits too. He is very knowledgeable of the area and is full of useful tips and suggestions of where to eat, visit and walk. The cooked breakfast to order is outstanding and kept us going all day.

A real gem in Peak District
We had a great stay and David was very friendly, helpful and attentive throughout our stay. We had delicious cooked breakfast each morning. The B and B is located in the centre of Hartington with pubs and restaurants in walking distance. As well as being located centrally in the village, there are local walks (public footpaths) literally on the doorstep. David is a wonderful host and we would definitely recommended Parsons B and B when visiting the Peak district.

Something Different in Hartington
Had a lovely stay at Parsons House. David is a wonderful host who allows ensures his guests are well looked after. He is also extremely knowledge about the area and will help you all he can. The house is very old and decorated in an unique quirky style with unusual decorative items. Everywhere was very clean, towels changed daily. Abundant supply of fresh coffee and biscuits. Breakfast was a delight each morning with well cooked quality produce. Do try David's breakfast trifle, a combination of layers of yoghurt, fruit, and granola. ,very tasty alternative to cereal. Enjoyed meeting and talking with the other couple staying at the same time.

We had a fantastic 5 night stay at Parsons B and B. David was so friendly, helpful and attentive throughout our stay. We had a delicious cooked breakfast each morning; including a breakfast trifle which was scrumptious! The B and B is located in the centre of Hartington- make sure that you visit the Hartington Cheese Shop and the Charles Cotton pub (both in walking distance from Parsons B and B. David also recommended The Staffordshire Knot which served delicious local food-definitely book if you are visiting! As well as being located centrally in the village, the B and B is close to nearby villages including Buxton and Bakewell (which are must visits!) and local walks including the Tissington trail and the Monsal trail. For thrill seekers Parsons B and B is a 30 minute drive from Alton Towers. David was a truly wonderful host and we would definitely recommended Parsons B and B to people visiting the area.
