A good hotel - except the management
Well, I do not know where to start. The problem with this hotel is the management. If they just had a little knowledge of control, internal communication and not should gain money on every possibility, this would be a perfect place. It all started when we arrived at the Airport. As far we could see, no one was waiting for our pre-ordered taxi. After a while (and phone calls) we got a wreck (you definitely can get higher taxi standard into Cairo) for 25 USD. Yes, it rolled and we arrived to the hotel. Then we heard that our rooms not were ready, and they should be ready at 21.00. OK, we got two other rooms between 14.00 - 21.00 (we were very tired). But after waking up at 21.00, we heard that rooms should be ready at 21.30. BUT 21.00 IS 21.00 - NOT SOMETHNG ELSE! The two-day stay went on without issues until the day of departure. I was very clear to the lady in the reception that we should have a taxi at specific time in the evening. This was NOT noticed to the other in the hotel staff so in the evening it was a surprise that we have ordered a taxi. The only thing to get things to happen here is to yell at them, and after approx. 40 minutes we got a taxi - after nervous waiting. (How hard can it be to fix a taxi in Cairo..). The mgmt will most likely write some else - but don´t trust them!

En pärla mitt i Kairo
Fantastiskt hotell med fantastisk personal till ett helt fantastiskt pris. Jag har bott här flera gånger när jag har varit i Kairo och kommer att välja hotellet i fortsättningen också. För att vara ett hotell i den här prisklassen mitt i Kairo är det en otroligt bra standard. Men man ska då komma ihåg att standarden på hotell överlag i Egypten är lägre än vad vi är vana vid från Nordeuropa, men jämfört med likvärdiga hotell i området är standarden väldigt bra på Amin Hotel. Personalen är mycket trevlig och hjälpsam och fixar till allt som behövs. Och igen, frukosten är ordentligt tilltagen jämfört med andra hotell i området. Ett stort plus att man äter den på takterrassen med utsikt över Kairo. Har också provat hotellets flygplatstransfer nu och den fungerade helt exemplariskt. Dessutom en mycket trevlig chaufför, dvs. en trevlig pratstund på vägen in från flygplatsen. Hur jag än försöker kan jag inte komma på något negativt att skriva om hotellet. Och med mina åtskilliga resdagar och destinationer som jag avverkar varje år, har jag sett en hel del genom åren. Prova det här hotellet nästa gång och jag kan lova er att risken för att ni ska besvikna är liten, om ni har rätt förväntningar så klart.

I was very impressed with this hotel. I had stayed before at other downtown hotels in Cairo and I would say this is by far the best one. It was very clean, renovated and nice staff. Nice rooms, very good breakfast, nice bathrooms with complete showers. It has everything you need and more. Very close to places to eat and the Egyptian museum. I would come back and recommend it for sure to any one. Worth the price. I’m not sure why it better rate it.

Basic and Clean hotel near downtown Cairo
Basic hotel downtown Cairo. Very clean and comfortable but the wifi was not working all the time. My wife really loved the traditional daily breakfast.

Great B&B hotel in the heart of Cairo. Very accommodating staff, especially Mr. Ashraf. Very clean hotel and affordable. Breakfast was also reasonable. I highly recommend it!

Great place to stay. Friendly service 24/7. Only reason I gave it a 4 on cleanliness is because theybaere doing some construction, but othwewise the room was very clean. Great value.

Excellent location for the Egyptian museum. Booked a 2-bedroom family room, got a small twin room. I gave the hotel the option of moving us to the paid-for room or returning the money difference, they moved us to a bigger room with three twin beds. Since it was on the quiet side of the hotel (no street noise), we were OK with it. The hotel/room is probably nice by downtown Cairo standards: efficient AC, hot water, clean, wifi slow but working. Our only significant complaint would be the mattresses which were of the cheapest type and terrible. Rooms are on floors 7-9 of what looks like a residential building, occasional electricity outage made us take the stairs. Elevators (when they work) are small but OK. Would rate it 8.5 out of 10 for Egypt.

周りがうるさかったです。 トイレで水が漏れていることを伝えたら、どうして漏れているかは調べず、拭くだけで、何回も呼ぶのが面倒なので、自分たちで工夫して解決しました。 タオルもバスタオル1枚だけでした。

My husband and I stayed at Amin this year 2023, January 25-28th. We would highly recommend this hotel. The staff are super-friendly, Hotel manager Achmed, Massoud, the Bellydancer guy, Emy Fares at restaurant upstairs. Celebrated my husband's birthday here. Awesome party. Excellent service. Above and beyond these facts, they are caring and kind.I am a 72 year old woman,and they were absolutely wonderful to me.I cannot stress strongly enough how their concern and kindness enhanced my trip.I stayed at the Amin for 14 days and will stay there again while in Cairo.

Indtjekningen var ikke optimal . Vi skulle have 2 singel room men de havde kun et. Forslag 1 vi kunne bo på dobbelt. Vi afslog. Forslag 2 vi kunne bo på et andet hotel hvilket vi gjorde men det var langt ringere end Amin og langt fra centrum. Så vi valgte at tage tilbage til Amin. Personalet var virkelig mege hjælpsomme. Så jeg vil bestemtkomme tilbage til Amin. Har boet på Amin for mere end tyve år siden så derfor valgte jeg det kh Lise Jytte Hansen

Nous avons réservé l'hôtel pour son emplacement en plein centre du Caire tout en connaissant ses prestations modestes. Cependant nous n'étions pas prêts. Fuite dans la sdb, moisissures au plafond, toilettes sales, odeur persisantes dans les chambres et lorsque nous avons réclamer des serviettes de toilette absente dans la chambre le personnel nous a fait comprendre qu'il voulait de l'argent en échange. Le petit dejeuner n'est absolument pas un buffet continental mais une simple assiette locale et une boisson chaude (il faut payer pour en avoir une 2e). Point positif le serveur du petit dejeuner très agréable et l'emplacement de l'hôtel qui permet un accès pratique pour la visite de la ville.

The owner or manager was stellar; our tour he set up was reasonably priced and have made close friends with Mohammad who was our tour guide. Egypt and the Egyptian people were welcoming and kind; will come back again to stay here if i ever have A group in the future

Amin Hotel is conveniently located in Downtown Cairo. The room was relatively large, given comparably priced hotels, and fairly clean. The staff were not the most friendly, but they were not discourteous. If someone's looking for a cheap stay in Downtown Cairo, I'd recommend. However, just realize you will not be getting the same level of "customer care" that you'd find in Western-owned / higher-tiered hotels.

Localização - único ponto forte
O hotel fica muito bem localizado, porém as instalações são muito antigas, com elevadores minúsculos e ultrapassados. O quarto em que nos instalamos era bem grande, mas mal cuidado e de cor escura. A ducha tinha bastante água e quente, porém estava vazando para todos os lados. O café da manhã era terrível. Servido individualmente, com frituras. Não tinha fruta, nem iogurte. Praticamente não comia. O horário registrado para início é 8h da manhã, mas todos os dias atrasou, cerca de 20 minutos, pelo menos. Ademais, o café é servido no terraço aberto, com pouca sombra, que é super quente já no inverno. Imagine-se no verão. Também possui um pequeno espaço fechado com ar condicionado, que tem capacidade para poucas pessoas. A equipe era atenciosa, contudo sempre esperando gorjeta em qualquer situação.

Horrible experience
Stinky room with lots of flies in the room. Bear in mind that encounter with roaches is a possibility. Not impressed with the free breakfast at all. Also breakfast servers and front desk crew didn’t know first thing about custom care. The hotel manager thinks he is funny, he needs to take a couple training how to talk with non Egyptian guests lol
