Highly recommended. Great house crazy close to canyon park, also with great backyard (rim) view. All possible boxes checked, the place is complete in every regard. Hosts have tier 1 communication skills, and were there on arriving for helpful walkthrough. We had our dog with us and he loved the place as well. I brought my telescope and got great shots, courtesy of the nice, dark skies. Likely we will return with friends.
Friends visiting behind the backyard - canyon affords a fantastic backdrop.

The property was beautiful! The host welcomed us with snacks and gave us a detailed overview of the property, along with details regarding things to do in the area. She even let us know about a great place to catch the colors of Palo Duro Canyon at sunset. The kitchen was amazingly stocked with anything yoy could possibly need for cooking. It was very pet friendly with water bowls inside and out. And the wildlife, including Aoudad sheep and mule deer were a special treat.

Beverly was there when we arrived to give us information about the house and provided us with fantastic margaritas, homemade guacamole, and other treats. Very thoughtful. The house was right by the canyon and was perfect for the stay. We enjoyed the auodads visiting and sat outside each afternoon with the perfect weather.

From the moment we arrived at Nocona Lodge, we knew it was special—but it exceeded every expectation. The location on the rim of Palo Duro Canyon is breathtaking. Sunrise and sunset views are unforgettable, and the peaceful setting makes it feel completely private.The house itself is perfect. Spotless—truly one of the cleanest places we’ve ever stayed. Every space is intentional, welcoming, and beautifully designed without sacrificing comfort. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the living areas invite you to relax.The kitchen is the most well-equipped we’ve ever experienced in a rental—every appliance, tool, spice, staple, and multiple coffee options. It felt like staying in someone’s thoughtfully curated home, not a rental.The outdoor space is just as impressive, with shaded seating, a great grill, and incredible wildlife views.And Beverly and Phil are the most perfect hosts we’ve ever had. They left out nothing. Communication was clear and kind, and they went above and beyond in every category. You can feel the pride and heart they’ve put into this place.Perfect house. Perfect location. Perfect hosts. Five stars isn’t enough.

My friends and I enjoyed Nocona Lodge so much! We mostly stayed in the kitchen/dining area, talking, laughing, eating, and crafting. We cooked and hiked and napped and played games! The home and surroundings are beautiful. Beverly is an amazing host!!! We hope to make this an annual trip!

This is a gorgeous house full of Texas-themed decorations. The host was amazing. A local from the area, she offered many helpful hints that made our stay more enjoyable and gave us a personalized vacation. It was like having our own personal concierge! The view from the backyard was lovely. We spent our evenings watching the sunset color the canyon sky and being entertained by the wildlife. The house is just down the road from Palo Duro State Park. We bought a park pass ( as recommended by the host) and were able to go in and out of the park at our convenience. The state park was amazing and we had a blast. Only complaint was I wish we had more time there. No one wanted to leave. We all plan to return soon.

Staying at the Nocona house is a magical experience. The house sits at the rim of Palo Duro Canyon so you can see the canyon for miles from the back patio. There is an abundance of wildlife. The house has everything anyone would need and Beverly is a consummate host! Incredible experience!

Can't say enough about this wonderful place or Beverly and Phil! We were provided with chips, homemade guacamole, queso, drinks, and even an anniversary cake! They were so knowledgeable about the area and all of their suggestions were spot on. The house is so well stocked, you truely don't need to bring a thing. Being able to see the Aoudad Sheep was a special bonus. Perfect stay. Perfect place.

House was perfect for our family of 5 and 2 dogs. Dogs loved the backyard, and it was very safe and secure for them. Kitchen has every amenity you would need, and the house is clean and comfortable. We had a great time, the owner's went above and beyond making sure we were taken care of, great people! Wonderful family weekend!

We chose this lodge because it was so kid friendly and we love Palo Duro Canyon. We used every kid thing available-the pack n play, kid dishes, water toys, sandbox, games. So much fun and made it easy for us to entertain our toddler while we also enjoyed the amazing scenery, hiking, Texas play, farmers market and my favorite the Auodad sheep! They come right up to the property! The hosts were so thorough and gave us the most complete introduction to the property. We had everything we could possibly need. Beautiful place!

Family at Palo Duro

This home was exceptional in every way! The setting overlooking Palo Duro Canyon, with Aoudad Sheep, a fox, 8 new bird species for my Life List and Roadrunners visiting, was magical! The house is beautifully decorated, and our hosts greeted us with delicious margaritas and guacamole! We all agreed it was fabulous’

The Perfect House

We love this house and the location so much we have stayed in it twice. The first time was with our immediate family, the second time was with our friends and their family. Beverly and Phil are excellent hosts and even greet you upon arrival with the best homemade margs, cheese dip and guacamole! Their house is beautiful and offers excellent amenities for entertaining outdoors, cooking inside, all while having a beautiful view of the canyon. Oh, and there is a pickle ball court and beautiful wildlife. Plus, the location is excellent and convenient to both Canyon, Amarillo, and of course Palo Dura Canyon. I highly recommend this rental.....you will not be disappointed.

Great location and features

This place has everything you need - even if you have kids or pets. The location is great - very quiet (except for the amazing wildlife!) and close to Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Furniture is comfortable and everything in the house is labeled for convenience. The garage is a nice bonus, because you don't have to leave your car in the heat. Our pups really enjoyed the fenced back yard (note: coyotes are very bold - make sure to keep an eye on smaller pets) This is the best vacation rental we have had yet!

Everything and more!

This has to be one of our favorite VRBO stays ever! We were met with guacamole and queso, wine and even an offer of margaritas! The owner was so helpful - she answered all our questions and gave great recommendations! The house had everything you could need and more - everything was labeled from light switches to drawer contents - so helpful! The views were absolutely incredible - I couldn’t stop taking pictures! Loved the sheep, birds, bunny and longhorns - and the peace and quiet! I already want to go back!

Memorable trip

We were greeted at the house by Beverly who had margaritas and guacamole and chips at the ready! She was awesome at telling us everything we needed to know and then some. The house was incredibly comfortable and stocked with everything we could possibly need. We were less than 5 minutes from the park entry and enjoyed it tremendously. So beautiful! And I need to mention the views from the back porch were also stunning! We hit a bump in our trip when hurricane force winds and a severe dust storm knocked out power to the area and water to the house. Beverly was on top of things and stayed in communication with us. We sadly had to cut our trip short because of the storm that hit the panhandle, but we would love to come back!

Beautiful setting and home

The home was pristine and beautifully decorated for the holidays! The owner met us with margaritas at check-in and provided us with many delicious treats which we enjoyed throughout our stay. The home was minutes from Palo Duro Canyon which hosted a full schedule of children's programs the week before Christmas. Feeding the sheep and the many birds at Nocona Lodge was a highlight for the kids as well as riding bikes and playtime in the sand box. Beverly's hospitality was over the top. She gave us many great ideas for our time here and provided us a lovely, welcoming and cozy environment to explore the Canyon's offerings! We had a fabulous time! Happy Holidays Beverly!
