“The place is lovely, and the cottage was very charming, but I felt like the place needed a better clean, especially considering the price. The drying rack in the kitchen had a grime build-up, and the shower floor was quite grubby. I also noticed some hair on the floor under one of the beds, and the vase was hiding an ant family that came out during the night. “Staff very nice. Breakfast was good. Aircon didn’t work. Shower didn’t drain well. They need fans in breakfast area. Parking was interesting, but we managed. Neighborhood isn’t the best but a beautiful view of the mountains.”

“Beautiful setting. Great and spacious bedroom and bathroom suite. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful gardens which were quiet. At present their restaurant and spa are closed which was disappointing. I would recommend having a car to stay here as it isn’t possible to walk anywhere and it is c30 minutes in a taxi to Cape Town and 15 minutes to Hout bay. We had expected to be able to eat in the hotel. ”

“The Last Word Constantia really is the last word in luxury. When we arrived, we were greeted with coffee and cake and some excellent tips on what to see and do with children in the area. And then we were taken up to the Family Suite. What a fabulous suite of rooms, complete with mini bathrobes for children, a separate tv room with a Wii, two bathrooms and little toiletries so that our boys could enjoy a bubble bath.
