Fantastic atmosphere, great breakfast
This small guesthouse is just a few blocks, and a couple of minutes walk, from the main street in Franschhoek, with all its restaurants and shops. We were in one of the rooms with a small private pool. This felt very luxurious and is highly recommended. There is a larger, communal pool as well. Great boarding house ambiance, with nice common areas. Personal and friendly reception, and excellent cooked-to-order breakfast. Cannot recommend this place enough. Only wish we’ve stayed longer than one night in this beautiful area.

En liten smak av härligheten
På gångavstånd till huvudgatan (restaurang-gatan) ligger detta urtrevliga B&B med endast 8 rum i ett lugnt och säkert område. Inga problem att strosa hem på kvällen! Rummen är väl tilltagna i yta med stora badrum. Tips: välj gärna deluxe-rummen som är extra stora - eller om ni vill lyxa till det med privat pool: boka rum 8. Annars är den gemensamma poolen riktigt fin, med solstolar, badhanddukar och med en alltid serviceminded personal på plats som med glädje serverar förfriskningar. Frukosten är utomordentligt fin, med färska frukter, nybakade bröd, stort urval pålägg. Den varma delen av frukosten tas upp på beställning. Har man speciella önskemål anstränger sig personalen till det yttersta för att erbjuda detta. Kan på mitt varmaste rekommendera detta B&B för en underbar vistelse för par och vänner. Har man barn med, är det kanske värt att titta på annat alternativ.

Great location and service
Lovely house, comfortable and clean rooms. Great breakfast and location. One streets away from Main Street with all the restaurants and shops. Great service, got help with winery guide and restaurant bookings and recommendations.

Underbar upplevelse
Helt fantastisk upplevelse i centrala Franschoek. Hotellet ligger på nära gångavstånd till mysiga små butiker och riktigt bra restauranger. Superfint hotel med otroligt vänlig och servieminded personal. Jag kommer definitivt att återvända.

Super cute hotel with the best location
The hotel was very centrally located within walking distance to loads of nice cafes and restaurants in Franschhoek. The staff is friendly and rooms were spacious and nice.

Oasis in Franschhoek
Gorgeous little oasis in Franschhoek. Staff were very eager to please and the new wing where we stayed was well appointed. Minor points for improvement: coffee machine had very bright lights which came on when power came back on in the middle of the night - couldn't figure out how to turn them off so threw a towel over it! Staff may benefit from a little education about drinks in the bar and the absence of tonic to go with the wide selections of gin was a bit disappointing. It was very cold during our stay - the single spare blanket was insufficient as there is no heating when the power is out. But these are all comparatively minor points and the overall atmosphere, ambience and attention to detail were all excellent.

Amazing stay at the best boutique hotel out there
Had the most amazing stay at Chapter House for our honeymoon - the team were incredible hosts, and Byron in particular made my wife and I feel perfectly at home and couldn’t have done more to make our stay as special as it was - thank you so much! The hotel itself is beautiful and cosy, charming rooms, less than 5 minute walk from the centre of town and a lovely breakfast. Highly highly recommend to anyone and everyone - please go!

Ideal Franschhoek Base
We had a wonderful stay at Chapter House. The location is ideal being so central and just a short walk to the main road through Franschoek. The property is immaculate, beautifully decorated and spotless. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which added to the homely feel. Our only let down was the cooked breakfasts (the buffet selection was fabulous however).

Chapter House was incredible!
My wife and I visited the Chapter House as part of our honeymoon. We were truly amazed by our experience there. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the property was beautiful and comfortable. I highly recommend a stay at the Chapter House!

We immediately fell in love with this property! The historic architecture, the gardens, the enveloping sense of welcome and peace were just what we needed. Rarely have we been so impressed with a property. Unfortunately we heard there are new owners and extensive renovations are planned. Very much hope they keep the historic charm as there are far too few of those around anymore.

Central location and friendly staff
Our flight was delayed and the hotel called us to confirm if indeed I was coming over. We arrived early hours of the morning and we were checked in. The room was upstairs with only roof windows, without any visible view except the sky. I overlooked this since we were not going to stay there all day,otherwise this should have been a deal breaker.

The property was quaint and clean with a gracious staff, lovely breakfast, wonderful porch and a room with a plunge pool. The WiFi doesn’t work in your room or on the property, only in the main section. Overall a really nice boutique hotel.

Une demeure de charme et poésie au cœur de Fransc
Nous avons été accueillis avec gentillesse et efficacité dans les informations nécessaires par le couple de propriétaires germano-irlandais, ancien professionnel de l’hotelerie dans une demeure du 19e siècle construit comme la maison des huguenots.... 8 chambres spacieuses toutes différentes les unes des autres avec de vaste salle bain qui donnent sur des jardins de lavande et différentes plantes odorantes d’Afrique du Sud... Grand salon décoré avec soin avec une cheminée pour les soirées fraîches Un petit déjeuner servi soit sur la terrasse donnant sur le jardin ou en salle à manger.... Extrêmement copieux Personnel extrêmement prévenant et attentionné.... Une piscine très agréable dans un coin plein de charme.... Nous avons également eu le plaisir d’apprendre que 2 hôtels aux mêmes attraits étaient dans le centre de Cap Town et géré par ces mêmes mains de maître Bravo !!!!

Boa opção para ficar na cidade de Franshoeck
O hotel é bom como opção para conforto e localização no meio de Franshoeck, muito bom para caminhadas na cidade. No entanto, algumas coisas foram inconvenientes: nos quartos existem lareiras e se um quarto ao seu lado usar a lareira seu quarto fica com cheiro de madeira queimada, são poucas pessoas para fazer o atendimento, quando chegamos (eu estava com dois idosos) e tivemos que carregar as malas até o quarto; além disso o hotel me mandou mensagens de problema com meu pagamento e eu tentei diversas vezes contato por aqui e não consegui, quando cheguei lá não sabiam que problema que era. Wi-fi não é bom e as piscinas particulares das fotos não possuem limpeza, ou seja não são utilizadas.

The breakfast was fantastic! The common area is very friendly, clean and welcoming. Our room was just OK. The bed needs an update, it sagged and was as hard as a rock. The bathroom at first glance looked good, but then you notice the mold around the top of the shower. Plus the vent/fan was filthy! The water in our bathroom sink was brown, so we asked for bottled water. They ended up charging us for it! When I explained we needed the bottled water because their water was brown, my comment was dismissed by "Work is being done on pipes nearby." The hotel is in a great location to town, however, I will not be staying here again.

we are so sorry you did not have a positive experience here whilst staying in the guesthouse. The bottled water is usually on sale through out the Western Cape, and we do advise using that rather for drinking water, with the current drought situation.There was roadworks/waterworks repairs going on in the street yes.Facilities here are being upgraded accordingly.
