Nice hotel with parking
Nice hotel close to good restaurants. The size of the room was great with a kitchenette and good wi-fi. It was very windy that night so unfortunately not so quiet. The hotel does not have their own breakfast so you get a voucher to use at a close by breakfast place. The area felt safe but one has to be cautious during evenings and nights.

Väldigt mycket oljud hela nätterna från de omkringliggande restaurangernas fläktar. Borde inte ha 4 stjärnor enligt min åsikt. Rummet och badrummet ganska slitet.

Bra ställe men räkna inte med mys vid poolen
Ett bra hotell,flera ställen att äta frukost på vilket. Stora rum med minikök. Stort minus för den miserabla utomhuspoolen. Låg bakom parkeringen och var allt annat än en pool, smutsigt och olustigt. Det drar ner den totala poängen till 3.5

I liked my large room that had an unexpectedly beautiful view of Table Mountain. I adored, Sharon, at the front desk. She helped me enormously.

Great staff, super informative and helpful. Lovely hotel with clean and stylish rooms. Located in a fun area which meant it was quite noisy at night. The light switches need a rethink. Even the guy working there had trouble figuring them out. Would certainly stay here again.

Great location on Kloof Street with variety of dining options. Walking distance to downtown, Long Street, museums and Company's Garden. Waterfront and Table Mountain Cable car is short Uber drive away. Fat Cactus bar (below hotel) is great place for a evening drink upon coming back from the tours. Would highly recommend.

Great place to stay in Cape Town
Nice little hotel just off Kloof Street. The front desk staff were exceptional and very helpful. They made the difference in turning our vacation week into a wonderful and enjoyable adventure.

The room smelt like cigarettes and was not that clean. The bath was massive and took forever to get to a depth to bath and there is water restrictions on Cape Town so was not great.

Das Hotel liegt in Mitten der City. Bars und Restaurants rund herum gelegen. Wir fühlten uns sicher, gibt aber sicherlich auch Sichere plätze. Parkplatz abgeschlossen deshalb Sicherheit gewährleistet. Die Einriichtung ist okay. Es ist ein 3 Sterne Hotel für uns. Das Frühstück haben wir nie genutzt da es im Restaurant neben an ist. Der Betrag ist vorgegeben- deshalb lohnt es sich kaum mit Frühstück zu buchen. Das Personal war hilfsbereit, aber nicht zuvorkommend= wir mussten erfragen wann das Frühstück ist, der Pool wurde nicht erwähnt haben wir auch nicht gefunden, Sicherheitstips wurden uns nicht mitgeteilt. Was super war wird durften ein Zimmer benutzen bei Ankunft morgens um 9.00Uhr da unser Zimmer noch nicht frei war obwohl wir mit dem Hotel vorgängig den Check in um 10.00Uhr abgemacht haben. Zuverlässigkeit mittelmässig.

Fabulous
Amazing. We came for the test match & it was reasonable to get to Newlands with Bolt. Hotel in safe area. We walked at night no problem. Jerry's for breakfast was lovely. We never exceeded the ZAR100 pp. Good to pop in for a night cap as the staff there were exceptional. We had 8 very comfortable nights and would not hesitate to return. We booked a front room as on a budget and were never disturbed by noise.

It was a very nice experience. The bedding was super clean and comfortable. The rooms are spacious. I appreciated the stocked mini bar. The staff are very nice and helpful. They helped me with airport transfer service 4 times. The driver, Mervyn, deserves mentioning, too! The location is fantastic. I would definitely stay here again.

Last night in South Africa
We were pleased by the reception, both efficient and helpful. The room itself was lovely... a great take on how to modernize decor. It was quiet (we were at the back) and in a great location.It was a great choice for the final night of our trip.

I really Enjoyed my stay at the Hippo, centrally located with a lot of restaurants nearby. I had a late flight leaving at 11 pm and they allowed me to check out late, I really appreciated that. Excellent service!!

Great stay at hippo boutique hotel
My group of four friends were lucky enough to secure a last-minute booking of four standard rooms at this divine boutique hotel. The rooms were large and well-appointed with very comfortable beds, while our breakfast the next morning was delicious! Definitely a repeat for us all, should we need to overnight in Cape Town again.

The staff was pretty good. There were a few who stood out. The property is located well with roughly all “neighborhood” services nearby, particularly for longer stays. It is within easy walking distance to most if not all CBD landmarks. There were a number of interesting neighborhood events nearby. The two restaurants downstairs and the mini-mall next door were very convenient. The building systems could use an assessment then an upgrade, but overall the property was good.
