Very nice hotel. Good location,. Comfortable and clean rooms, Friendly staff. Good restaurant (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Spa with professional treatments. Cosy, small and personal atmosphere. Great value for money. We stayed 6 nights and would definitely choose the Sugar hotel again!

Hotell som sett bättre dagar
Tyvärr rör det sig om falsk marknadsföring från ett hotell som vi upplevde var på väg att konkursa. Enligt bilder på TripAdvisor och Expedia skulle hotellet ha en pool, det har det inte längre. Enligt Expedia och Tripadvisor är det ett 5-stjärnigt hotell. Det var det enligt en personal inte längre. Enligt honom var det numera "maybe 4 stars". Han visste alltså inte?? Urusel service under frukosten av ovannämnda kille som inte alls hade koll på vad han gjorde. Det enda positiva på hotellet var den supertrevlige dagsmanagern Nkobe som rättade till alla felaktigheter så gott han bara kunde.

I loved the deep tub. The private pool on private deck would have been over-the-top if it was a hot tub. But room was clean and the bedding was luxurious, notwithstanding, a Nespresso coffee maker in the room. But, better than in room coffee was the included breakfast of superior quality and selection. And I found just down the street a shopping center that met all my needs. I highly recommend.

Room was clean, big and had everything we needed. The staff were helpful and friendly. Location is conveniently close to the V&A waterfront but not walkable. Breakfast was delicious with good selections.

Make sure you book the most expensive room!!
We were very excited for our stay in this “5 star hotel” and to have the luxurious experience that you do get at a 5 star hotel. But that bubble was quickly burst when we arrived, this is not even close to being a 5 star, maybe 10 years back, I think that is when last maintenance was done on the Hotel. The only okay part was the reception staff, came to the counter a couple of times to find the person sleeping on the couch because of very long shifts. The breakfast staff is not trained and don’t understand english so to get the right food on your plate was a challenge, the breakfast was decent to give a compliment. Make sure not to book a standard room as it will feel like you are sleeping in the broom closet.

Leider nicht empfehlenswert
Wir waren über Silvester im Sugar Hotel, unser Zimmer lag im Keller, hatte nur ein kleines Oberlicht, dafür einen inverstellbaren Blick vom Kopfkissen auf die Toilette und Dusche. Der Rezeptionsservice nach Mitternacht wurde dann von verschiedenen Hotelgästen wahrgenommen, die dann die anderen Gäste, die von der Silvester Party kamen und vor dem verschlossenen Hotel standen, hineingelassen haben. Irre Erfahrungen.

Highly recommended
Fab little boutique hotel. Very close to the V&A Waterfront area - we took Ubers most days for £2. Hotel staff were very friendly and helped us organise a tour to see the penguins at Boulders Beach. The room was very spacious, with a huge bed. We could have benefitted from more wardrobe space, but otherwise totally fantastic

Oncemore and George are very helpful and if you have any questions they are going to help as much as they can. The area is great to get to the start line of the Cape Town Marathon. Was not use to the no door for the toilet area in our bedroom. The staff is wonderful and I felt really safe.

Great Hotel
Sugar is a small hotel and the staff get to know you. They were very friendly. Someone was at the front door/desk 24/7. It is in a safe and quiet part of town, a $4 Uber ride to the Waterfront area. The breakfast was made to order and delicious. My room was small, however modern and very clean. They promptly responded to messages I sent them. I highly recommend staying at Sugar.

Really enjoyed my stay here. Nice location near the V&A waterfront. Front desk staff very friendly and they were there 24 hours. Breakfast included, I had a nice Avo Smash with Bacon and orange juice every morning. Room was very comfy and with a private outdoor pool, shame that I couldn’t use it due to the weather. The room was cleaned every day. Couldn’t have asked for more really, very good value.

Our stay was good but could have been better. Because breakfast is in the adjoining restaurant we were only allowed one drink and one menu item which was not our expectation. The room was not replenished each day and we had to ask for towels, coffee pods and water. The outside plunge pool had not been cleaned on our arrival and was quite dirty.

Gute Unrtkunft mit schlechtem Service
Eine eigentlich sehr gut gelegene Unterkunft mit schönen Zimmern und gutem Bad. Der Service ist von unfreundlich beim Empfang, bis gleichgültig im Service jedoch sehr schlecht. Es ist keine Führung des Hotels oder Ansprache für Gäste erkennbar. Das Frühstück ist ok, wenn man viel Zeit hat. Den 2. Kaffee zahlt man extra.

Beautiful Little Spot!
This hotel has fewer than 10 rooms, but somehow still manages to have a restaurant and a spa. Everything was beautiful, from the private pool attached to our room to the mountain view, and the price was shockingly good. Staff was very pleasant and there are 2 lovely dogs that live in reception. Would recommend, would stay again.

The room was exceptionally tiny. There was no space to move. Advertised as a 5star and charging 5star rates the room was tiny, facilities were non existant. The only thing that was decent was the breakfast. There was no automatic upgrade as they were supppsed to do

We do have high end room types and entry level room types, the customer chooses which room type suits them. Feedback and suggestion
We had a pleasant stay, however the Monday we had to check out, the restaurant was closed (we had the bed and breakfast deal) Also, it would be a good addition to look into heated pools and perhaps an overhead cover for the patio, as when it was cold or raining, it wasn't pleasant to be on the patio. We are both smokers, so we needed to go out to the patio to smoke which was a bit uncomfortable due to the weather.

Service friendly and helpful
Safe 15-20 min walk or R26 to the waterfront, albeit hotel staff advised not walking when dark. Spacious bedroom and bathroom, albeit some of the bedroom furniture needs updating. Nice without being spectacular breakfast. Bad start at check in when they seemed to have lost our reservation. However after that, found the staff very friendly and helpful, and best of all they had 2 very friendly labs.
