"The Best Western was disappointing. Maybe I had too high expectations as it was 30-50% more expensive than other budget options. What was good: The room was clean. The bed was comfortable The staff member who checked me in was very friendly. What could be improved: The blow dryer in my room didn’t work. The bathroom is small (but functional). I got a room by one of the stairwells and the first night people kept coming and going with the door to the stairs banging each time. Just get a soft-close system. Breakfast was incredibly basic. The eggs looked like they were from powder not fresh scrambled eggs. The yoghurt dispenser was dripping yoghurt. The location is misleading- it’s called “historic Fredrick” but there is nothing close to historic by the hotel. What is by the hotel is a highway. The room I originally booked (king sized bed) was facing the highway so the helpful staff member suggested I take a different room during check in. I still heard traffic from the highway. The mini fridge had a life of its own and made kiss of noise as it struggled to stay cold. Each of the issues was in itself “small” but collectively they made for one if the least pleasant hotel experiences I have had the past 18 months with over 25 hotel nights. "
