This was one of the most charming, beautiful boutique hotels I have ever stayed in. Veronika went out of her way to help me get my suitcases up and down the steep stairs, gave me great local advice for food and adventure, and was super professional, polite, and friendly. The view from my room was exceptional. The only drawback was the noise level. I would stay there again. If you stay there, you must eat at Tamam - about a half block from Vranas!

Really bad service

First off, I am not someone who generally does many reviews, but after the service we received from the owner/manager, I feel compelled to review to let other travelers know. When we checked in, there were many things broken. (The sink was loose, the shower was leaking and the shower head was broken off, the towel rack was broken, the reading lights were out, there were problems with the shower fixtures, etc. I sent a note to the manager and owner of the hotel expressing some frustration, since we paid a ton of money for this room. Had the owner / manager acknowledged my note, I'd probably give the a 3 star. But I sent him 4 separate notes, and also sent other employees (who were awesome, BYW) notes. I asked them to relay my message to the owner/manager, which they did. We checked out yesterday, and I still haven't heard a peep from the owner. Really disappointing that this is the way they prioritize their guests. Unacceptable.

We absolutely loved our stay at Residenza Vranas! The room was incredibly spacious and comfortable — it felt more like a chic apartment than a hotel room. The view from our suite was breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of Old Town Chania, yet peaceful and quiet. The staff was warm, attentive, and always happy to help with anything we needed. And the daily breakfast? Delicious! Fresh, flavorful, and the perfect start to each day. The room was immaculate and very spacious. The experience was incredible; one of a kind hotel. The breakfast provided was lovely, with lots of flexibility, and the host was very helpful to provide guidance on the best restaurants in the area to eat at in the evenings. This hotel is in an absolutely stunning location, and the room we used included an indoor pool for relaxing out of the summer heat. The whole experience was amazing; 10/10, would happily stay again.

Perfect Location with Incredibly Helpful Staff!

Could not say enough good things about this hotel! First, our flight was delayed out of the US which forced us to arrive a day later and into Heraklion instead. The staff were extremely helpful and responsive in adjusting our car rental reservation for this change. We also unfortunately received a traffic ticket on our way and again staff gave us easy and detailed instructions on where/how to pay this. Lastly, we left our Kindle behind and they mailed it to our next destination! Thank you Vranas for making a stressful travel situation much more relaxing! The hotel is perfectly located in the old town with a beautiful view overlooking the harbor. The room was clean, bed comfortable, and breakfast delicious. We would absolutely not hesitate to stay here again!

The room was very nicely decorated and the balcony view of the harbour was awesome. Our room was the one with the pool inside on the first floor. However, Inside the bathroom there was mold. The pool had no chlorine in it which i thought was disgusting. And finally, what bothered me the most and the things that will never allow me to even consider staying there again are the roaches. I must have seen around 10 of them throughout our room. I hope they fumigate....hotel has alot of potential. Staff was helpful as well.

Wir hatten eine super tolle Zeit und überlegen schon wann wir wiederkommen können. Die Suite ist super geschmackvoll eingerichtet, sehr sauber und der Ausblick auf den ganzen Hafen traumhaft. Wir saßen eine Woche lang jeden Morgen (beim leckeren Frühstück) und spät abends nur am offenen Fenster und haben die Atmosphäre genossen. Die Gastgeber sind extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Unsere Angst es könnte wegen dem Treiben im Hafen Nachts laut werden hat sich zum Glück nicht bestätigt. Die Suite ist nach außen hin sehr gut isoliert.

The hotel is a small boutique hotel in the heart of old Chania town. That means, there are no cars where this hotel is, it is a short walk (5 mins) from where the taxi would drop you off. On arrival, we were greeting by Angelina from the front desk, she walked to the taxi stop to meet us to ensure that we could find our way. Already the service was beyond anything we expected. The hotel is an old building that maintained its charm with modern renovations. I will say this - it looks EXACTLY like the photos posted on the hotel's website. There is no photoshop here. I didn't add much photos of the room because they look exactly like the ones that the hotel have on their website. It was beautiful and very spacious, clean and comfortable. Located right near the harbor, and overlooking the water. We had the penthouse, it was amazing, we loved the outside terrace with full dining table and chairs with a patio umbrella. There was a full kitchen with dishes and utensils, stove etc....no microwave. The upstairs bedroom had a very large hot tub, and a rainshower head. It was extremely quiet and comfortable. The views from the room were absolutely beautiful. The service was really amazing. Each morning, we had breakfast brought to our room. Even on one occasion they brought it at a time just to be able to accommodate our schedule. Angelina and George helped us tremendously with any transportation needs, recommendations on restaurants and anything else we needed.
