Moms Getaway Weekend
We had a great stay at Terra Alta. Everything was super clean upon arrival, communication through Mountain Mama was fantastic and very helpful. The views from the house are amazing. We visited the local wineries and breweries, and then ended each night in the hot tub. Would absolutely recommend Terra Alta and any property manager by Mountain Mama in the future.

Perfect Fall Family Getaway
We had a fantastic time at this beautiful home. Our kids loved the games and bunk beds and everyone enjoyed the spectacular views from the fire pit. The perfect family stay for watching the seasons change. Excellent communication from our hosts - would love to come back.

We had the best time!
It was a beautiful home with comfy beds and a serene landscape. We loved the selection of board games for our kids and the hot tub. Every morning we saw deer on the way to town, we also saw turkey and groundhogs! Communication was perfect and homeowner was accommodating! Would highly recommend.

Nice place, great communication with owners
We came to stay in the Harpers Ferry area to celebrate a milestone family birthday. The owners sent us very detailed instructions regarding everything you could need to know about the house before check in. Everything was pretty clean ( a few cobwebs here and there but no spiders inside that we saw) the beds were comfortable, and the views were amazing. We noticed the HVAC was not working when we arrived but luckily the weather was mild. The owners were very responsive and helpful when a HVAC tech could not be reached to fix it. They brought us a window unit and fans and we were very comfortable for the rest of our stay. We really enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. We wish the basement bathroom sink was a little bigger and that there was a mirror in that bathroom. It was so convenient that the kitchen was fully stocked with plates, utensils, dawn, dish washing tabs etc. Thank you for hosting us for a beautiful family weekend where lots of memories were made!

Underwhelming
The “natural” landscape seems like an excuse not to pay someone to take care of yard. Looks unkept and not welcoming. May want to remark the trail to the river. Only saw one pink ribbon on a branch on the ground. Indoor furnishings are very outdated however the beds were comfortable. Only one tv in the dark/dingy basement. Bathroom had mold in the shower. The deck was the best part and where we spent most of our time when we were there. Harpers Ferry itself was fun. House was overpriced. Needs some TLC or drop the price

Beautiful River vacay
We wanted a comfortable place to do some local sight seeing with families if kids aged from 0-18. This house has games for the olders and pack and plays for the youngers. The hike to the river was not as difficult as advertised and provided a place to discover and swim.

Spacious tranquility with a view
Amazing river view from house and hot tub. Lives up to pictures and description. Well stocked with towels, coffee etc. All four of us would visit again. Lots of hiking and history in area. Need a vehicle with some clearance for the road. Very spacious with a nice layout. Try Plantosaurus vegan restaurant in Charles Town!

Everything we wanted and more
Really fantastic. This was the perfect spot for some old high school friends to hang out, barbecue, go tubing, and catch up. The hot tub was great. The view was amazing! Very clean, lots of sleeping space, responsive property manager.. all great!

Great Stay, Disappointing Management
We enjoyed our stay, however I've sent 4 messages to the management before and after our stay with no reply. There was a gas/oil smell in the home that made someone in our group feel lightheaded. The property itself is great. Don't plan on making the "beach" an important part of your visit. It is a difficult walk as mentioned, but there is also broken glass all over the place which is a shame. The views from the home are great. Everything else was OK, just disappointed by the lack of communication and customer service.

We’re glad to hear you enjoyed your stay! We went back to double check and still don’t see any messages from you. We sent messages with check in instructions, checked up on you once during your stay, sent departure instructions, and followed up after check out to ensure you had a great stay, but we didn’t see any unanswered questions. We typically receive great reviews regarding communication. We’re not sure what the disconnect is here!

Great getaway
Loved this property. Hosts were the most responsive I’ve ever had. Surrounding area is gorgeous and we loved the basement game room, hot tub, and fire pit. Topped it off with a trip to dirt farm brewery which is wonderful. Our kids also loved the house and the adjoining bunk beds. We will be back!

Beautiful location! Beautiful views!
Very very nice house. Hot tub was lots of fun! Comfortable beds. Extra towels for hot tub were very touch. Living room upstairs and down stairs were used often. Suggestions: would recommend adding screens to windows on lower floor. Additionally listing said coffee was provided but their wasn’t enough so we had to run out to buy. Also no olive oil or vegetable oil, garlic, etc. Would come back!

Wonderful Getaway

Quick recharge oasis
This was a fabulous getaway for my husband and I. It was close to home, very tranquil and just what we needed. Although the house would be a great family stay as well, the quiet, hot tub and setting was a perfect recharge for us! Thanksgiving on the River
The views were a great escape from the city, the outdoor spaces were fantastic, and amenities were all as depicted. We were concerned the house would be too small for 6 adults and 2 kids but we found it cozy and comfy, no complaints. If we had to find something wrong with the house, we’d say the house was clean, but not immaculate. Would we stay again, absolutely!

Idyllic rural setting in a beautiful part of WV
We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this property: the basement area with games and puzzles, woodland walk down to the river bank, the hot tub, and grilling on the spacious deck. The only slight disappointment was that the kitchen was not very clean, although the bathrooms were good. We also loved all the hiking opportunities for younger enthusiasts and slower parents! Having never visited WV before we were blown away by how friendly everyone was and by the choice of great dining options - we will definitely be back.

Beautiful Escape
This house is amazing. So clean and tidy. Stunning views from the deck of the mountains and river. Huge hot tub. Great firepit area. The walk down to the river is a steep climb but worth it for the seclusion and fun down there. Just wouldn't recommend it for little kids. Will be back for sure!

Incredible View - Perfect spot for a weekend getaway
The property is very spacious and well appointed with all the essential amenities for a week/weekend trip. We were especially appreciative of the many kid-friendly elements throughout the house, which enhanced the sense of hospitality. The outdoor space and setting is wonderful and the vista is quite remarkable. The hike down to the river is certainly sporty, but not too difficult for youngsters (although it will take closer to 25 minutes with small children). Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and look forward to booking again in the future.

Wow! Beautiful property!
Eight (8) friends stayed at this property before a backpacking trip at a nearby park. The house was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked in terms of pots, dishes, glasses, soap, paper towels, condiments, etc. The property itself was beautiful overlooking the river. It's very secluded and a little challenging to actually find but it was all worth it in the end (just follow the owner's directions!). The hot tub was amazing and the fire pit really helped us unwind and gave us a place to socialize. I rent a lot of rentals through HomeAway is this is definitely a top notch spot!

Great getaway
Loved the house and view. Used the hottub and it was relaxing. Sat by the firepit two night and it does a great job. Love hearing the river. The ride on the driveway was a little rough on my car because of the high middle. The owner was responsible sive and checked on me. Great place to stay!
