We had a very good stay overall, but there are a few things that would make the home even better for future guests. It would be very helpful to add a railing going down the back steps, as they were difficult for my 87-year-old mother-in-law to navigate safely. There is no fully fenced area for dogs; we brought a gate to close off the side porch, which worked, but pet owners would appreciate a more secure dog area. Walking the dogs in this neighborhood was very easy, and we felt safe at all times.It would also have been helpful to have a basic broom and dustpan or a small vacuum available so we could clean the kitchen floor during our stay; we ended up going out and purchasing one. The free city bus that runs through Charleston was a great perk, though we didn’t find out about it until later in our stay. It would be really helpful to have a small booklet at home with recommended restaurants (including price ranges), tours, grocery stores, and some off-the-beaten-path spots.We were surprised by how noisy the street can be at times, with cars, people, and very early, loud garbage collection almost every day. That said, the location and overall experience were still excellent, and the noise would not deter us from re-booking in the future. We also appreciated the quick response to any questions we had during our stay.
