Michael, the host, was very friendly and welcoming. The view is gorgeous, and the lodging is unique and rustic (part of a barn). We stayed one night for the Polar Express train. Do wish the heating was more evenly distributed. It got really hot in the bedrooms. It was better when we turned the heat down and left the door cracked. Slanted flooring in some areas was a little quirky, but we rolled with it! Otherwise, unit was well supplied with extras: coffee, creamer, filters toothpaste, shampoos, paper towels and tissue, etc. It even had a large bottle of filtered water, which we were thankful to have. The host even let us check in early and stay later since no one else was expected. Great for our short trip to the mountains!

Nice little place to crash for the night after coming for the Polar Express on the Great Smoky Mountains railroad! Michael was great with communication and we loved the little touches like having Christmas music playing for us on the TV to greet us when we arrived.Recommend.

Our stay at Michael’s barn cabin was absolutely wonderful! Michael was such a friendly and welcoming host, and his sweet dog Enola Mae made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The cabin itself was perfect — cozy, spotless, and stocked with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The location was great too, close enough to everything without feeling busy or crowded. We truly enjoyed every minute of our visit and would happily stay here again!

Michael has a wonderful property, the perfect relaxing location with amazing views. Very clean and stocked with everything you could need. Our dog even made friends with the neighbor dog and Michael's dog, he had a great weekend getaway too! Highly recommend this vacation home!

We were greeted by Michaels dog Inola May. So sweet. The location was good, the house itself while small, had everything you could want. Very well stocked. Michael & Inola May came one evening to sit on the porch where he shared history of the property, and we were treated to hummingbirds & Fireflies! Very relaxing stay. Just what we were looking for.

Location! Location! Location! A very welcoming and safe accommodations. As two women traveling, this was very important that we felt safe and comfortable. Having our bedroom windows opened allowed us to hear the sound of a nearby brook and owls thru the night. Mike, the host was amazing and went over and beyond to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. I included a pic of a sunset taken from the porch. We plan to return. Thanks Mike!

Our host was very friendly and was kind to check on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Although we didn't cook, the kitchen seemed to be adequately furnished. We spent most of our time helping our grandson move in the university for his final year. We really appreciate the fact that the cabin was pet friendly so we could bring our 10 lb Maltese rescue with us. We had a really great stay and would stay there again. I would definitely recommend it to other visitors to the area.

Just what we were looking for!

This small, unique cottage is not elaborate, but had all the things my brother and I (Ages 79, 80) were looking for in an "out of the way" location. Shopping BEFORE arriving is helpful because the nearest Grocery is several miles away. It is in driving distance of many wonderful places to see in the NC mountains. Not for everyone - but for us - it was great!

This is such a great little cabin. We wished we were able to stay a couple extra days. It's a nice small little cabin, perfect for us two and our dog. There is a mild pet odor, but that's to be expected with allowing pets to stay. It didn't bother us one bit. Our dog loved the open space and the deck is a fantastic place to just sit, relax and enjoy the view. We would absolutely come back to stay any time! I'd recommend this stay to anyone.

Before arrival the owner, Michael, let us know details with directions, access codes etc. He was extremely helpful & hospitable! He has a dog and I was traveling with my monsters, they had a blast with her!! The renovated barn is authentic, cozy, comfortable, full of amenities and very nice vibe. We didn't need for anything! Awesome cabin

I can't say enough good things about this stay.The cabin was perfect. Amenities were more than expected. Spices, cooking oil, cookware, coffeemaker and Keurig. Beds were comfortable. Host was amazing. Even Enola (his dog) was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend staying here if in the area. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Smoky Mountain Getaway

I was looking for a cabin with a view for my first trip to the Smokies. This one didn't disappoint. Our host welcomed us, checked in on us, and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin is well equipped, and has everything you need, down to the smallest details. It might not be the fanciest cabin out there, but I'll take comfort and kindness over fancy any day. I would stay here again.

Michael gave us the kind of treatment that everyone should enjoy. He even took me for a hike to Alarka Falls with his beautiful dog. We had a great time and were able to relax for the stay. Would definitely recommend this property to any couple. Easy access to property and quiet area.
