You cannot beat this location across from the Assateague Lighthouse or the knowledge and stories of Capt. John who was born and raised on the island! We made the most of our 2 night stay. Very clean and well maintained family run property. The 11 small cottages are well situated with basic amenities. We took advantage of both sunset and sunrise cruises as well as the water taxi to a private beach. There are also kayak and small boat rentals. Had a fire on shore and looked at the stars. Beautiful and peaceful! Saw ponies, seagulls (finally saw a baby), oyster catchers, flocks of pelicans, a pair of eagles and many herons as well as one of the best sunsets ever! Highly recommend a visit to Snug Harbor and the Assateague Island Tours.

We loved the location right on the water. We could see dolphins from the back deck! The staff was great, and we liked being able to rent boats from where we stayed. The units were clean, and the beds were so comfortable! The wifi was essentially non-functional which was a downside. We would also have liked the second bedroom to have two twin beds instead of another queen. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

The location of the cabin on the water with perfect. Cabin itself didn't meet our expectations.. two bedroom cabin was a little bit tough to stay cool. had one window unit air conditioner and a fan that had to be ran all the time.. we had a propane stove noticed the cabin did not have a fire or carbon monoxide detector inside there was a place on the ceiling that there was one once upon a Time. I would think having one installed would be a factor of running a business..

This is not a Marina, nor is it Hotel. This property is a MOTEL that has not been renovated. If you don't mind staying in a motel from the 1970's, then this place would be fine. They would not give me a refund so I moved to the Fairfield Inn by Marriott which is an actual hotel. The hotel we stayed at ended up costing less than the Snug "Inn". Buyer beware. They have a strict no refund policy because they don't want to give everyone their money back once they see how old and outdated this property actually is.

Staff was very friendly and personable. Room was very clean. I found the website to be a bit deceptive with the photos and descriptions posted. Rooms may all be water “view” but not all are water “front”. Yes, there’s a view of Asateague Island and the marshes from the docks but you can’t see ponies from there—at least not w/o binoculars. It’s a good distance across that water!

This property is located in a beautiful spot overlooking the water with views of Assateague Island in the distance. The lodgings are adequate but quite dated and aged for the price. Kayak, stand up paddle boards or boat rentals are available for an additional fee. A suggestion to the staff would be to offer guests a kayak or paddle for a couple of hours at no charge to offset the high room rate and allow guests to enjoy the beautiful surroundings at their leisure. Providing some ground coffee and a breakfast/welcome snack to have in the kitchenette would also be a nice feature for the price of accommodation.

We spent two nights at the Snug Harbor marina and Hotel in the Chincoteague. John and his wife was great and helpful. The cottage itself was outdated and there was potable air conditioner in the kitchen and the bedrooms were very hot. Overall the experience was great.

We loved everything about Snug Harbor! It was the perfect relaxing place to stray. So clean and right on the water. The owners were great people and really made us feel welcome. The guided kayak tour was the best part of our trip! We had such a wonderful time, we can't wait to return. We could see the wild horses from our covered deck. Every morning we sat and watched them while we had coffee. We are already looking to book our next stay here. Great place! I cannot say enough about it!

Snug Harbor has the real island feel. From the beautiful view, palm trees, quiet reggae music to a comfortable spotless cottage, I can truly say there is no other place like it on the island. We have stayed in a lot of different properties on Chincoteague but this is our new favourite place to stay. A very nice addition are boats, kayaks, paddle boards to rent as well as guided kayak and boat tours right on the spot. We did a boat tour with Capt.John and it was just wonderful! I wish we stayed longer.

I really liked the view! I thought it was a little hard to find, signs. Weird layout for the cottage, but functional. Cleaning staff friendly. It is not a marina! Overall pleased.
